About this cabin rental
Are the backwoods calling? Travel a half hour from town to an uneven gravel/dirt road to get up close and personal with nature. The cabin overlooks two wild brook trout creeks converging to one, plus a mountain ridge view! Let this forest hideaway bring tranquility or adventure for a couple's overnight or longer. We want our guests to feel the spirit of the area and the simplicity of life so unplug, enjoy the view and melt the stress away. Be aware venomous snakes and wild animals are indigenous to our area. 2 miles from paved road, all vehicles need 5" clearance, 1.2 mile of uneven gravel/dirt and potholes. NOT suitable for motorcycles. No cell or WiFi. No charging EV batteries. Use ONLY our directions!
Logging days of the past used the creeks to harvest timber. The boulder creek offers lots of white noise with small waterfalls that can be seen and heard throughout. Bring your pole as it's home to wild brook trout or hatchery supported downstream.
Country décor shows logging history in this well-equipped 400 sq ft cabin. Relax on the deck or take a nap in the covered porch. Walk your own private trail that leads to the creek-side deck.
The Nantahala National Forest is our backyard and playground. Bring your outdoor gear for adventure right outside your door. Come "tame the dragon", ride the "Cherohala Skyway" or "hug" a tree at Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest.
It has everything you need for a solo traveler or a couple. Spend a few nights or an extended stay. We hope to hear from ya!

My son and I booked this cabin for his Senior trip. The cabin and property were amazing. We had everything we needed. In fact, my son did not want to leave.
I would definitely stay again.

What an enchanted place. Wish I could have stayed forever. What beautiful memories Doug and Alice helped give us on our one year anniversary. Thank you for sharing your home with us. The personal touches made it such an excellent adventure.

Outstanding in every way. Everything positive other reviewers say about the place is true so I won't repeat them here. Many thoughtful additions/appointments make your stay a couple of shelves above 'OK'. There's no internet but Starlink Mini worked well enough (Best location is right on the deck rail a few feet beyond the steps and orient the antenna towards the north. The app will do the rest.) The drain field immediately to the east of The Junction (with a nice fire pit) makes for a great drone operations site. The only FYI worth the mention is that you need to be aware that the final mile-plus of road is primitive and nowhere near code. You need a SUV or truck (preferably 4WD). The first time you encounter it you likely will be intimidated and wonder if you've followed directions correctly. Just relax, take it slow, keep an eye out for the big rocks that will rip out an oil pan if you don't have the clearance, and hum a few bars from 'Deliverance'. If you've never been here, I highly recommend that you do NOT arrive in the dark. The Junction is well lit and you won't miss it.

This cabin was absolutely gorgeous, and the creek was so amazing to just sit and watch. The kitchen was extremely well stocked for cooking, directions to get to the cabin were easy to follow, overall just an amazing place. Had everything we needed and was the perfect getaway. We will be coming back in the future!

The Junction was exactly as pictured on VRBO. Cutest little tiny house ever! It had everything we needed and after a day we stopped missing WiFi and Internet. The scenery was breathtaking, listening to the sound of the water running over the rocks on the creeks below was the most beautiful sound when waking up drinking coffee in the coolness of the morning air and to hear the same sound at night took all the stress away. Everything we needed was there, comfy bed and the softest sheets I've ever slept on. I thought the tiny shower would be a challenge but I found that it was very comfortable and even though the water tank was only 20 gallons, we easily took showers without running out of hot water..I've got longer hair so I was worried about the water pressure getting all the soap out, but the pressure was almost better than I have in my own home. The loft above was pretty cool and loaded with games and puzzles, so we took advantage of that a few times. Communication with Alice was easy and quick, plenty of instructions and brochures on the kitchen table to help us navigate our first trip to NC...It was nice to know that our hosts were not far away if we had a problem, but not ONE single problem in the 4-5 days we were there. The gravel road took a minute to get used to but it was quite quaint and charming. I can't think of one single bad thing about our trip! Thank you Alice for allowing us to spend a few days in a beautiful place! I would highly recommend this!

We absolutely loved the setting and the accommodations. We only wish we would have stayed more than one night and hope to go back for a longer stay in the future. Host left lots of information on things to do in the area as well as maps. We used this information to plan a visit to the Joyce Kilmer memorial forest and absolutely loved it! We highly recommend this property for anyone looking to get away from it all.

This was exactly what we were looking for. Secluded, private, no WiFi , no cell service, and right on the water. This is the perfect get away for two. The owners are awesome, and the amenities are everything you need.

The Junction is off the beaten path but definitely worth the trip. No cell service, no wi-fi - the perfect place to disappear for a while. The photos of the view of the river from the deck do not do it justice. Truly beautiful. And the hosts are wonderful. Highly recommend.

This cozy cabin is perfect for a little escape into the moutains. Nestled in by a mountain creak. It was the perfect size for us. The loft is inspiring for fun, and relaxation. We thoroughly enjoed our one night stay, and will be looking to rent this again in the future for a linger stay.

My wife and I had the misfortune of having to cancel our Honeymoon due to a knee injury. Upon looking, she found this treasure and we jumped on the opportunity to spend the time together. When we entered the cabin, there was a welcome sign and in the living room.....a small Christmas tree and hearts for both occasions. Not only that, there was a big brownie and a present on the kitchen table! Absolutely everything was perfect....from the cabin itself to the river flowing below us. It was great to be able to "unplug" and just be together. Oh, being able to leave our mark on the porch was a blast :) Thank you so much!

Once you arrive at the cabin/tiny house it is adorable and very tranquil and has all of your basic needs. I suggest you arrive at the cabin during daylight hours. We made the mistake of arriving at nightfall and it made locating it tricky. I am more of a going places and doing things kind of person so that required a lot of driving as the little town of Robbinsville has nothing to offer. However, you can get to Bryson and Cherokee in a little over an hour or so. If you really want to just relax and disconnect from the world, this is your place.

What a quaint surprise, tucked away in the serene hollow of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mtns. The creek was perfect and the cabin was everything we needed and wished for! We did a lot of our cooking and the kitchen is efficient. No cell signal and no WiFi took some getting used to, lol, but was exactly what we needed to recharge. We walked the Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest Trail and must say, it’s amazing!!! Allow yourself a couple of hours to really take it all in.

This is the perfect place to disconnect from the daily grind and reconnect with your spouse. We so enjoyed the fact that nature surrounded us and reminded us we where all that was needed. The cabin is beautiful and stocked with all the essentials, just bring your groceries and get ready to unwind. We walked the creek, drove the mountains and even played board games, most of all we held hands, talked and enjoyed our time together. Perfect is what it seems to be.

The property was just as advertised - clean, up-to-date, comfortable, and scenic. The furnishings inside the house were incredible, and the porch was beautiful. We spent the majority of our time sitting on the porch watching and listening to the river. Alice was a wonderful host, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Junction!

My adult son & I sought a place “away from the everyday hustle & bustle”, the tranquility of a remote location in a beautiful natural setting. The Junction fit what we sought PERFECTLY! We stayed a full week, drove into town only once, ~midweek, for additional groceries. Each day we hiked & explored the area near the cabin, fished in the steam, & caught Brook & Rainbow trout up & down stream from the cabin. It was like a camping trip to a remote wilderness area, but with all the comforts of home in a perfect cabin. Alice & Doug have done an outstanding job of researching the local history & very tastefully & appropriately decorated the cabin, confirmed by the posted pictures. They also provide everything one could possibly need/want in the cabin, both for comfort & necessity. After a day of hiking/fishing we would sit on the covered or open part of the deck looking down on the beautiful clear, flowing water of a mountain stream… or looking out & up at a colorful mountain ridge, both the sights & sounds were incredibly relaxing & spirit renewing. The natural beauty surrounding the cabin is outstanding! I could write/say much more, all positive, about the Junction & hosts, Alice & Doug… but will end this review by simply saying… I can’t wait to find an opportunity to return to THE JUNCTION!

First of all, this spot was perfect. From the small details like fishing poles and bait to the comfort of falling asleep to the sound of the creek behind the house. It was extremely relaxing. Plenty of rocks to be found for the avid rockhounds out there, which my wife is one of them. The cabin was absolutely great in every way, super clean and provided everything we needed and nothing we didnt. Funny enough, we were starving when we made it in and initially joked how food wasnt provided, only to discover two muffins awaiting our arrival; an ironic blessing. As for the title, I am glad I brought a truck. The directions getting there were easy enough to follow, even in the dead of night. But you are definitely "off grid'ish" way back in the woods on what seems like a perfect 4 wheeling trail. How they got a Miata back there is a mystery I have yet to solve. I would definitely recommend vehicles larger than a car - truck, suv, van... something of that variety, if you value your vehicle. If you end up on street racer paradise road, God be with you. It's awesome! But not so much in a truck. All in all, it was a great trip and will definitely be back, and will stay at this property again.
Kudos to the home owners! They have provided an amazing location to get away from the daily grind.

This cabin was neat and tidy! I expected to see bugs since we were in the middle of the woods but I never saw any inside the cabin! Sitting on the porch and listening to the creek was very relaxing. The owners were great in communicating directions and instructions to us and always available to answer our questions. I would highly recommend this cabin for a quiet retreat and any other properties that these owners own!

This property was nothing short of amazing. Exactly as described, it was incredibly peaceful and the perfect way to spend our 18th anniversary. We absolutely loved our short stay here and can’t wait to come back and spend more time when we can stay longer. Alice was the perfect host and was very responsive. Even left us homemade muffins in the kitchen, which were delicious.

It was very enjoyable and location very beautiful and roads were abit rough but that was our fault as we took the back road. Really loved the feel of the cabin, very cozy.

We have stayed at a number of VRBO rentals, none more relaxing than The Junction. From the remoteness of the location to the coziness and cleanliness of the tiny cabin, it was perfect for our needs. And the fly fishing was note worthy, both for the beauty of the creek(s) and for the results. If you enjoy somewhat arduous wading, you can find it in Squally, especially well above the cabin.
We look forward to a return visit.
Thanks again to Alice and Doug for the experience and for their hospitality!

What a great, cozy house way off the beaten path! The home and porch are perfect spots to take in the beauty of the area. The hosts are great and quick to communicate. Being "unplugged" and surrounded by nature, my hubby and I enjoyed the much needed relaxation and naps! We can't wait to come back and spend more time at the cabin and the surrounding area. Love this place!

We had a quick overnight stay but would definitely return! The house was perfect for us - and so peaceful! We went to Joyce Kilmer Forest nearby which I highly recommend. Alice was wonderful to work with and added little touches to make it special. Definitely recommend!!

This unique and beautiful property did not disappoint. The sound of the beautiful creek is so soothing. The cozy porch was so inviting and comfortable. We ate our breakfast and dinner outside by candlelight. They’ve thought of everything you could need in the well appointed kitchen. We roasted hotdogs on the nice outdoor fire pit. Watched movies and enjoyed so much this much needed getaway. Excellent precise directions were great. We will definitely be planning a return visit !!!

We loved it so much we’re already planing to go back soon.

LOVED this cabin! My goal was to "unplug" from the outside world and get away by myself for a couple days. Got exactly that. :) Beautiful area and the cabin itself is perfect for this type of getaway. Also really enjoyed getting to chat with the owners upon check-in; they seem like great people! Definitely would love to stay again in the future.
