We had a great time in a mixed family group from age 7 to 62. The home was beautiful, warm and welcoming and the owners even put up a Xmas tree and decorations for us. They left some Brownies and milk and fresh bread which was such a nice touch. The only thing that could have made it better is if there were a smart TV or Apple TV etc as the children wanted to watch a Christmas movie and we were limited to terrestrial channels. Nonetheless, we are planning to rebook for this summer. I would definitely recommend!

Spacious comfortable accommodation with everything we needed for a weekend break with family. Very clean & warm. The host Mark was very helpful.

Nice family weekend
We had a nice family weekend, the house was a good size and the games room, tennis courts and grounds where great. Generally we had a good experience, however did encounter a few issues with the property.. e.g. the fire alarms weren’t working (none of them), obviously staying away with four young children meant this was a big concern and led to us venturing out on Friday evening to purchase one of our own. We also had issues with the ballcock in the system above the fireplace being faulty, which was very noisy and meant several of us were unable to sleep on the first evening until we managed to fix this ourselves the next day. We would recommend the property, however feel these issues should be rectified for future guests as they did hinder our overall experience.

Annual family get together
The property was lovely and a great open space inside and outside. The field out the back was great for cricket and rounders games. The tennis court was excellent too. We all had a lovely time. The only things that didn’t make it perfect was the bbq area wasn’t very clean, the teapots still had old teabags left in, the cups were all a bit chipped and the property could just do with a couple of jobs to fix the broken tiles, but great location and we would definitely return again.

Stanton
Lovely property with plenty of seating and space. Very open plan which is perfect for large group. Outside area lovely! (No BBQ?) Just needs a little maintenance and attention to detail maybe.
The showers are not calibrated and run very hot (apart from one which we all ended up using).
One oven door not very secure. One toaster not working properly.
Otherwise we loved it!

Peaceful location.
The property was spacious and inclusive in its layout. The main irritation was that the efficacy of numerous items left a lot to be desired. Amongst these was dodgy doors on the cooker, a couple of malfunctioning showers and an ailing toaster. For the price we paid I think we were entitled to expect better. We enjoyed the weekend but I’d have much preferred the owners to have taken remedial action to enable a five star rating.

Stayed for weekend in Feb
fantastic stay for us- family of 14 including dogs + kids. Spacious and plenty of rooms. Living space and kitchen perfect for big gatherings and eating/drinking.
Only 2 downsides - quite cold in part of the house but stand-alone heaters were provided, definitely an extra blanket advised (living space is lovely and warm)
Two of the bedrooms have quite steep steps leading down into them which could do with a brightly coloured tape on to let you know they’re there! We had an injury from one of them.
Other than that, it was really great and we will be going back.

Midway point for a family meet up
We originally had this booked for 2020 but moved it to 2021.
Bedrooms were good sizes, kitchen and living area were excellent size.
Large field which was shared and excellent for dog walking and playing a family game of rounders.

A Wonderful stay and location!
We stayed here as a family to celebrate a special birthday, it was perfect! The house is beautiful with all we needed for a perfect stay... the kitchen is well equipped, there are plenty of bedrooms and seating areas, the surrounding area is beautiful for walks and is in a secluded location with a few other properties on the complex.
It was great to have use of the tennis court and games room although unfortunately, due to the pandemic, the equipment provided was limited. Luckily though we had received forewarning of this and brought our own tennis racquets and balls and made full use of the lawn using our own croquet set!
Highly recommend a stay here, you won’t be disappointed.

Lovely but to cold
The house has storage heaters which did not work well enough to heat the large kitchen diner, the host had left a few electric heater for one on the bedrooms which the storage heating didn't work at all. I messaged the host and they were prompt at bringing more electric heaters. We all thought the games room and tennis courts was for our sole use but it was shared with the rest of the 5 or 6 rental properties. I think this should be made clear on the website. I had to also ask for water to turned up as it would of been to cold for a shower. Both staircases were very creaky and it was impossible go upstairs without making loads noise.. The front door was very stiff and difficult for my son's close by themselves. This property had so many little issues that needed resolving that made our stay disappointing.

A great family weekend.
We had a really good weekend, with 10 adults and 2 five year olds. The location was great and accommodation worked perfectly.

Christmas with the family
Overall the accommodation was very well proportioned for our party of 11. All facilities were plentiful and well laid out. We were extremely grateful for the very generous hamper which included wine and lots of other tasty treats. We thought that there were one or two maintenance issues, i.e. showers were too hot and could not be adjusted. However this did not detract from our enjoyment. Overall a very relaxing break.

Wonderful base for a family get together
This is a spacious, comfortable, well equipped property in a great location to explore the Cotswolds. The hosts were friendly and helpful. The open living space is ideal for large groups.

Enjoyable stay, but edge taken off it by a few faults.
The living room is very spacious with ample, comfortable sofas and an excellent dining table. The kitchen is well equipped with everything needed by a large party.
The bedrooms are very spacious and comfortable. However, there were issues with the showers. The water in one bathroom was extremely hot and could not be adjusted. This was mentioned in earlier reviews and when we met the owner, he admitted there was a fault. He agreed to have a look at it, but nothing was done to rectify it. The other electric showers were difficult to regulate too. This is not a cheap property, but the owners are obviously not prepared to spend a little money to put things right.
Another point that was highlighted in previous reviews was the poor condition of the equipment in the games room. It wouldn't take much effort to check this daily and replace dented table tennis balls or missing snooker balls.
Having said that, we had a great time and hope that the owners will pick up on these points, spend a little money and turn their property into an excellent one, instead of a good one with niggling faults.

Perfect house for a large group
The house was exactly what we were looking for our party. The communal kitchen, very large dining table and so many sofas meant that everyone had seating at all times. The cottage was very warm and cosy although the only criticism I would have is that there were a few minor issues with bathrooms, some loose toilet seats (which were dealt with) but that would not stop us from returning. Thank you for the lovely fresh flowers.

Could improve on couple of points
Spacious well maintained property (Stanton House) ideal for extended family get together, but we found a few things that caused significant inconvenience-
1. No table fans in upstairs rooms which were very hot even with open windows during Aug bank holiday hot weather.
2. Very hot water in downstairs shower, even if put towards max cold.

Ideal for a Family Reunion
The living space in the house (kitchen. dining area and lounge area) was ideal for our party of 14. The only negative feature was that the single beds are not adequate for adults, particularly for tall men . The grounds were ideal for walking with dogs and golf. Stanton House itself does not enjoy good views; the only view from the ground floor windows is of fencing. The local area is ideal for walking and visiting local towns and villages. The games room was slightly disappointing in that the equipment (particularly table tennis bats and snooker cues) was not in good condition and on the last two days of our stay only one snooker cue could be found.

Enjoyable stay
Good location and nice accommodation along with good facilities for the children. However we were disappointed on arrival as there were 13 beds but we had booked 14. We had to lug a mattress and extra bedding upstairs ourselves. Despite this we had an enjoyable stay.

Dogs on leads
Property was great . We were not fully aware of other properties on the site. However this did not detract from our most enjoyable evening. The owners manual said that dogs should be kept on the lead. There were 2 other dogs on site and they both came right up to our house at least twice. One in fact came in the house where we had an 8 week old baby.

Friends get together
This house is in a lovely location just 5 mins drive to Stow-on-the-Wold.
Great cycling, lovely pub called the Golden Ball 5 mins drive.
The house was very clean & was well equipped for the five couples.
Lovely big room & comfortable sofas & a huge dinning room table.
We had a chef cook us a delicious 3 course meal for a nice treat & he also did the washing up !
I can’t wait to go back.

The property was first class
We found the property very welcoming. Clean tidy plenty of space for all the family. Would have preferred the games room to be a little nearer but I’m sure in the summer there would have been no problem. The weather was very cold and windy but that is something you can do nothing about. On the whole a very enjoyable time with all the family.

As with other HomeAway properties we have used, it did not disappoint, well appointed, comfortable .
We recently celebrated my husbands 80th birthday with family at Stanton House. A lovely house, comfortable beds, good quality linen and towels plus an excellent supply of crockery etc. I was very disappointed to find that two of my guests had to sleep on a mattress on the floor!! The property advertised accommodation for 14 people which was the size of our party. As there were only 6 bedrooms with 12 beds I enquired about sleeping arrangements for the other 2 people and was told that they were put-you-up beds but as stated above they were just mattresses on the floor, just not acceptable. If I book accommodation for 14 people I expect 14 to sleep in a bed!! We were also expected to strip the linen from the beds before we left which I also find unacceptable.
The other incident which totally ruined the weekend for me was the fact that we let off some fireworks without previously asking permission! This was at 5.30pm,I repeat 5.30 not 11pm or midnight. This turned a seemingly mild and gentle man into a " Raging Madman" who was shouting and pointing his finger at my party which included young children and a child with special needs. He demanded that we apologise to other residents immediately. I am almost 82 years of age and I can honestly say that no one has ever shouted and raged at me like that in my life and I hope that whatever short time I have left on this earth that it never happens again. To be fair Mr Whitney did come round a little while later and apologise but the damage was done as far as I was concerned. We live in a small village surrounded by babies, young children and farmland and if I was letting off fireworks at 5.30 in the evening I would not inform the neighbours or farmers and neither would I expect them to inform me. If you are staying at Stanton House and intend to take fireworks....Beware!!!
I am glad to say that my husband really enjoyed his celebration with his children and grandchildren.

Nice place but needs attention .
Lovely large barn conversion but needs some maintenance. Tap hanging off downstairs en-suite, cold tap not working, parents had to take saucepan of cold water in to wash. Their bathroom window would not shut, had no handle on it. Showers are poor , two of upstairs shower not strong enough pressure to shower. The downstairs shower was only tepid on full power. Cobwebs in upstairs bedrooms, several light bulbs not working, including one at top of stairs. Games room was excellent and lovely to have somewhere to exercise our dogs. The downstairs living space is perfect for a large family get together.

Lovely accommodation
Great accommodation with well appointed and spacious rooms. Lovely area too. Some very minor maintenance required.

Brilliant house for large groups
Great venue for our extended family gathering. Suitable for an elderly relative as there are downstairs bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, also for young children with so much space to run around and the games room is a bonus.

A well equiped and comfortable place to stay.
The property was a great base for a cycling holiday with loads of quiet roads on the doorstep with plenty of space to store bikes. The accommodation was very comfortable and relaxing after a days riding with good facilities. Overall we had a very enjoyable stay and will definitely consider coming back again next year.

Wonderful weekend!
We stayed in Stanton House to celebrate my 40th birthday. There was plenty of room for all the family, including the young children/babies. The kitchen area was great, and the living room really comfy. We had one of the four poster rooms which was beautiful and super spacious, even with a cot in the room.
We had a small issue with the fridge freezer, and the property owners came straight away to help us out with it. Lovely friendly folks!
We made full use of the badminton and tennis courts, and even set up a temporary cricket pitch on the huge field behind the barn complex. We also had a BBQ on the patio area directly outside our barn, which was fab and with plenty of space for all.
We did venture into Stow on the Wold for lunch one day, which was around a 10 minute drive away. There are taxi numbers in the accommodation should you prefer not to drive.
Overall, we had a wonderful stay at Flagstone Farm and would highly recommend this lovely family-run holiday home.

Quiet location, well equipped house, very relaxing stay.
Problems with internet didn’t mar the stay as it helped make it a ‘screen free’ weekend!
