The property was as per advertised both in description and photos. The flat looks more like a home than a rental investment, which is greatly appreciated. The flat is close to everything in Bellagio, the downtown, the ferry and a market. We had a car but left it parked since finding parking in Bellagio is its own sport. The flat is on a hill. The result was a lot of walking (happy about that) but do be aware there are a lot of hills in the area. One night just got a pizza take away with wine from just down the hill from the flat and really enjoyed a dinner away from crowds. Highly recommend the flat and Renato as a host. He was always available and very helpful and informative. One recommendation would be a couple of fans in the flat. The temperatures were fine, but there was a fair amount of humidity while we were there at the beginning of October.

Location is perfect if you’re willing and able to walk the hill. Great view of the town and mountains. Apartment has all the accommodations for a long stay (kitchen, washer). Quiet neighborhood away from the old town/tourist places. Bellagio in general might be a bit limiting if you’re staying for long and don’t have a car, but the access to many ferries keeps variety possible.

Renato was fantastic. He made us feel like family and answered questions, no matter how simple. The apartment had everything needed, including reliable, high speed, internet. The location is central with one caveat; the walking is hilly and difficult for the elderly (taxis are few or non existant). I would not hesitate to book again and revisit.

This place was our favorite place out of the 8 places we stayed on our trip. We stayed here a week and the location is great. The apartment is close to the center of town but far enough that you can escape the craziness of the tourists in Bellagio. The owner is a great host and offers lots of recommendations and answers questions.

A great location in a neighborhood setting with everything in walking distance (great exercise, too!). Was the perfect base for my husband and me to explore Bellagio and Varenna. Renato is a generous and very responsive host—thanks again, Renato!

My girlfriend and I spent 5 days at Renato’s property and we thoroughly enjoyed every second of it. Renato himself is a very accommodating and generous host, who offered us transport to and from the property. The location is no more than a 15 minute walk from the town centre and it is in an ideal location for the San Giovanni lakeside when a swim is needed. Faultless.

Renato was a wonderful host! He picked us up at the ferry dock with his car and drove us around showing us where the good restaurants and grocery store were located.. He also checked in with us to be sure we were happy and ok. Lovely balcony to enjoy late afternoon wine . The pizza restaurant down the hill is a great place for dining- Great Lake view and wonderful pizza!

This apartment had everything we needed to enjoy Bellagio. We were very comfortable and loved the view of the area from the balcony at night. It's an easy walk to bus stop, and markets, and a slightly longer but beautiful walk to the main area of Bellagio. Renato was a wonderful host and went above and beyond in many ways. It was a wonderful place and I would rent it again!

Live like a local in quiet Aureggio

This place is a quiet gem. The apartment is high above the tourist center of Bellagio in the neighborhood of Aureggio, but a nice walk on an ancient cobblestone path down to the center, and an easy walk to the grocery store in the other direction. Renato is a welcoming host, transporting us from and to the ferry as we needed, and also taking me shopping for food the night we arrived. He and his neighbors have thought of everything and made us feel very comfortable. It is so much better than staying in a hotel - the apartment has shutters to keep it cool during the hottest hours, very good fans, and curtains to keep out the mosquitos. The kitchen is well stocked. Without a car, we got in shape fast walking back from a meal out, but the walk was one of my favorite parts. I would love to come back someday!

Very nice place, very quiet, lots of space and a 10 minute walk to town centre. The owner, Renato, is a nice guy, that gives you all information needed, when you arrive. And he fills the fridge with juice, colas, beers, wine, water. And theres biscuits, bread and food. All you need. Best recommendations. Very good with kids. Garden to play in, toys and they get their own room. Try the pizza-place near by.

Okay, so where to begin???

Okay, so where to begin???

I will start by saying this was my favorite apartment in our 1 month visit in Italy. We very much enjoyed all the locations but Lake Como and Bellagio are absolutely stunning. And, to make the stay so wonderful was our host, Renato, who picked us up at the Ferry. Now, we don't speak Italian and his English was minimal so the communication was an adventure...but hand gestures (the good kind) always seem to work. At his apartment, his upstairs neighbor, Julianna, who does speak English helped to translate and explain the features of the apartment. He provided breads, jams, fruit, eggs, and wine for our stay! Okay, so the best part, his wife prepared us a dinner for our first night, which was amazing. We had been traveling all day from Venice so this was so welcome to not worry about dinner (or wine). The meal was absolutely delicious. Still need to contact Renato for the recipe for the meat dish. Another welcome feature was the brightness of the apartment. The living and dining room area have many windows with a lovely view of the mountains. For those who like a bathtub, you got it! It was approximately a 15 minute walk through the neighborhood to Bellagio and the view from the path was gorgeous. While there, we used the ferry system, which was always on time, to travel to the other villages. They were all very pleasant to visit and we were certainly happy with our choice of Bellagio. We would definitely return and I hope to be able to bring my family for the next visit. Renato took us to the ferry when we departed and we received a nice memento from him. Thank you Renato!!!

The house was spacious and clean and. Everything you need was there, and also a fine bed. The location was ideal, quiet, close to old town and lake within walking distance. Because the house is on a hill you have a nice view. The house has a lovely balcony. The garden was only reachable from the outside. The owner is a friendly man, who likes his guests stay as pleasant as possible. There was a well-stocked fruit platter, a bowl of sweets and the refrigerator was filled with the first supplies. Highly recommended, wherever we want to go again if we go back to Bellagio. Thank you Renato

Nice affordable apartment

We spent five days at Renato's place and had a very nice time. It is in a quiet neighborhood not too far from the tourist center. We like walking everywhere when exploring a new place so it's well suited for that. Renato is a great host who for a reasonable fee picked my wife and I up from the Malpensa airport and drove us to the apartment. He was also nice enough to drive us to the train station when we left. He definitely goes out of his way to make sure his guests are taken care of. I recommend this place highly if you want to stay somewhere out of the tourist center.

We spent 2 weeks in Renato's apartment and it was the best choice we could ever made. The apartment is situated in a magnificent place, the view from the balcony is wonderful. On the backyard you'll find a nice private garden with BBQ, we often had dinner there. The apartment conveniently located within the short distance from two supermarkets, the sporting club and the centre of Bellagio with shops and restaurants. In the apartment you'll find everything you may need. We were traveling with a baby and Renato provided us with a baby cot and a high chair. It was so kind of him to prepare juice, fruits and several bottles of vine before our arrival. Bellagio is the perfect place to take boat trips to small lovely cities situated on the shores of the lake Como. We rented a car and traveled to Lugano, Bergamo and Milan. I definitely recommend to spend your holidays at Renato's in Bellagio.

It was a very convenient ...

It was a very convenient stay in this wonderful apartment. It has besides three big rooms also one gorgeous garden, where we had so much fun to Barbecue. Renato is such a nice man and provided almost everything we needed, even fresh fruits, local wine and the dried Wood for Barbecue. Bellagio was actually just a stopover in our trip to south France. However, we enjoyed the apartment most here. Maybe it would disappoint some who expect a view to the see. For it we just had to walk one minute. In return we could enjoy the totally quiet two nights on the balcony. By the way, Bellagio is such a complicated town that we spent almost one hour to look for the way (we didnt take a Navi). It was realy warm when we were found by Renato who drove his 20 or 30-years-old moped und searched around for cars from Germany. We left in a hurry and could barely say all the thanks to Renato. But we know when we plan our holiday in Como again, there is only one apparent we will book...

"In Homelidays description of apartment it has 1 bathroom, 1 shower room, 1 separate toilet. In reality there is only one bathroom with toilet in it. So the description needs to be corrected. All other amenities were complete and in a good quality. Apartment was well prepared for our stay and clean. "The house of Renato is just great. The house is well-furnished and decorated. It's in the outskirt of Bellagio, but still very easy to access the center of Bellagio, just 10-15 mins walking. We got very warm welcome from the owner - Renato. He's super friendly and hospitable. He put a lot of fruits in the fridge before we come, as well as beer and wine. So we could have cold fruits and drinks. He also decorated the house with fresh flowers. It's out of our expectations. We love the house very much."

"Highly recommended. Located in Aureggio, a quiet residential area on the hill just behind the old town of Bellagio (easy walking distance) . The apartment is impeccable, lovingly decorated and fully provided with everything a guest could conceivably need, from paper towels to an espresso machine. The use of a small private garden is nice for relaxing in the evening. Renato, the owner, is exceptionally friendly and helpful; he even stocked the refrigerator with milk when he heard we were coming with children. Do note that he speaks only Italian and some French, so having a basic knowledge of these languages would definitely make your stay easier."
