About this house rental
Come enjoy Mystic, in this charming home full of old-world character with modern comforts and amenities. This lovely 3-bedroom, 3-bath home is located on a quiet side street, steps from downtown Mystic. A writer residence, the home is available only for select dates each year, while we are traveling.
The house has a really welcoming feel to it, the way some houses do. And it really pleases me that guests report feeling relaxed, comfortable and at home here too. Whether you’re in town to explore Mystic, attend a wedding, visit family or for work you’ll find the house an ideal base for your adventures. The home is set up to comfortably accommodate up to 6 guests (and one to two dogs).
Cook meals in the large kitchen, fully stocked with pots, pans and kitchen gadgets or bring take-out home from one of Mystic’s many restaurants and dine in the cozy dining room or outside on the porch. Borrow a book from the library, set up a board game or connect to Netflix to watch a movie in the living room.
Plug in your laptop and catch up on work (if you must). Parents with kids will find associated children’s toys, books and more to make their stay more comfortable (There is a travel crib set up in one of the bedrooms and please ask if you need other supplies such as a high chair, as we can normally arrange that). One of the upstairs bathrooms has an antique clawfoot tub, perfect for soaking after a day of exploring. And a washer/dryer and off-street parking make the home ideal for longer stays.
Because I live here some of the time, there are some personal effects around the place, but there is plenty of storage space for guests' clothes (hooks, drawers and shelves), and many of the personal effects are books, art and wine that I've gathered on my travels. I'm a freelance writer, which means that there are lots of books which you are welcome to dip into (including books, maps, novels and poetry from the local area), wine you're welcome to open and various cooking supplies to help yourself to.
I try to be flexible about check-in / check-out times although during the summer have to be stricter to allow my housekeeper enough time to clean between guests. There is a lock box for self-check in and you will have the house to yourself.

The property was perfect for three friends to spend a weekend cooking and catching up!

We were in town for a wedding reception and stayed at the property for 4 nights. It was the perfect space to start and end each day. The kitchen was very well equipped and we enjoyed preparing meals there. The backyard was very spacious and our dog enjoyed rolling in the grass. The walk into downtown was scenic and quick. Evenings were very quiet and we slept well. We would stay again!

We had a great stay in Mystic, CT. The home was spacious and had everything you need to feel at home. The bonus was the fenced in backyard which my dogs really enjoyed. We looked spending time on the deck and enjoying the great weather. Would definitely enjoy returning to this property.

Great house with a great location
Do not hesitate to book this amazing Mystic House. My family loved everything about our weekend getaway here. The house was perfect for our 5 year old, and the location can’t be beat. Bridget made check in and all communication a breeze, and was so helpful with local suggestions. Can’t wait to return!

Making Mystic Memories
This was our 1st of 5 weeks away from home this summer. This property was great, close enough to walk into town. Far enough away not to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of Mystic. We were able to bring our favorite wiggle butt who thoroughly enjoyed walks into town, and enjoyed time on the front porch and back deck with his favorite humans. If we ever find our way back to Mystic, I/we would definitely stay again.

Nice house in Mystic
Nice house on qjuiet street in center of town within walking distance to everything. We were there in a heat wave and the 4 Ac units worked well. Would stay again.

Great location in time of covid
This property is within easy walking distance of all the restaurants and shops in Mystic, yet not Right in the thick of things to have to deal with lots of people and traffic. (Note, the confirm gives a Stonington address but it is Mystic.). Nice front porch with porch swing to enjoy am coffee or evening relaxing. Just bring your bug repellent or citronella candles. I’d definitely stay again.

Relaxing stay in downtown Mystic
Our small family wanted an alternative to a hotel while visiting relatives in Mystic, and this was just right for us. Upstairs/downstairs layout with backyard and 2.5 baths is great for families, and open kitchen/dining encouraged meals at "home" rather than out. Location is as central as you can get, a 5-minute drive to Seaport and Aquarium, and a short and easy walk to downtown Mystic with bridge, bookstore, ice cream, etc. Kitchen/baths were well stocked and radiator heat worked like a charm. It's an older house, so don't expect perfection; but if you are familiar with New England houses you'll appreciate the layout and updates the owners have made. Owners were easygoing with good communication. We stayed for a week, but could easily see being comfortable here for longer stays.
