Delightful cottages in a beautiful area, well-equipped with comfortable rooms and easy access to attractions. Exceeded expectations with lovely touches like welcome gifts and free castle entry. Highly recommended for a special stay.

We had a brilliant stay in Lord High Admiral. We were four adults who fit comfortably in the two large bedrooms and well appointed bathrooms. The downstairs living area was more than adequate and the kitchen was well equipped with appropriate “starter pack”. The proximity to Winchcombe and the castle was fabulous. We loved it!

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Lord High Admiral cottage at Sudeley Castle. The cottage was clean and comfortable and conveniently located close to town so we were able to walk to pick up groceries and go out to dinner at the quaint pubs. Also a short walk through a field with sheep to get to the Castle which was amazing! I wish we could have stayed longer in this beautiful and historic area of England!

We really enjoyed our stay here. Such a beautiful area and getting to stay in the cottages added a special touch. Everything was as described

Lovely place to stay, not too far from beautiful places to visit. Highly recommend. Definitely worth visiting the castle.

My friends stayed in this property & we were able to get together very easily from nearby cottage. Good kitchen facilities - shame there wasn’t a dishwasher.
Lovely bedrooms & en-suite was a plus.
Enjoyed their stay & appreciated the free entrance to the castle & gardens.

We enjoyed our time in the suite, a few things we noticed. The floor in the ensuite was quite squeaky, the ensuite window could use a clean up ( paint) the wall on the stairway is scuffed up ( no doubt suitcases) and a simple local map of Winchcombe would have been helpful. None of these affected our stay however. Our interactions with the booking folks worked out okay but it seems a little impersonal when all done remotely. I guess that’s just how these things are going now. All in all a good experience and we will recommend it. Dave and Ruth.

My wife and I stayed in this cottage after our wedding at Sudeley Castle. It was absolutely delightful, with a well supplied kitchen, clean bathrooms and a really comfortable bedroom. Superb location close to Winchcombe and the castle, and the group of cottages made it suitable to have our family stay close by. Amazing stay, would absolutely recommend and stay again.

Turning into the street with the Castle Cottages, an admiring gasp escaped us. This place is magical and time seems to turn slower here. We were very delighted when we entered the lovingly furnished, spotlessly clean and above all incredibly cosy rooms. The beds are very comfortable and the kitchen is equipped with everything you need. Everything is of a high standard.
We found some milk, biscuits, coffee and tea as a welcome gift very nice. The close proximity to the castle and the free entrance were a big plus. We would have visited the beautiful castle gardens every day if there wasn't so much else to visit nearby. Too little time! We were really blown away by the accommodation, it is a real gem.

A haven in the Cotswolds, easy walking everywhere with good walks in the village and countryside. Our accommodation at Lord High Admiral in the cottages was pristine and very comfortable. No dishwasher, but that didn’t matter. Appreciated the welcome pack with milk, tea, biscuits and we were lucky to be able to check in early on the day. Highly recommended.

Good cottage, second time we have rented it and was still in great condition. TV had no signal and internet is slow but didn’t make much difference over a short stay

The cottage was lovely, although we had a problem with the faulty boiler, which couldn’t be fixed while we were there. Estate staff acted promptly when the problem was reported and luckily we had someone with us who could keep re- pressurising it so we at least had hot water.
Free entry to the castle is added bonus when staying here.

This was a lovely two-bedroom property on the edge of Winchcombe but within very easy walking distance of everything both the village has to offer and the Sudeley Estate.
The reception space is compact and worked perfectly for us as a couple but it would have been quite a squeeze for four adults. It would have been challenging to cook all the time in the small kitchen as there is limited worktop space and no cupboard space for storing groceries - all cupboards were filled with crockery and utensils so well kitted out.
No such problem in the two well-sized bedrooms and generous bathrooms.
There is building work going on close by which is probably the next generation of holiday rental cottages. I hope they then turn to refurbishing this cottage which is beginning to look a little tired and outdated.
Would still happily recommend this wee place as an excellent base for a relaxing holiday in the Cotswolds.

We really enjoyed staying at this property which was in an excellent location in Winchcombe and very quiet with convenient and safe parking. The house was spacious and comfortable, the only slight downside was that the two showers were only lukewarm. The kitchen was well equipped, the beds very comfortable and the house was attractively decorated and very clean. We would definitely return.

I think the sofas need cleaning or reupholstering. The courtyard light is also too sensitive and kept flashing on and off even though the heavy curtains.
However, everythingelse was very comfortable.

Great location, very confortable
Lovely cottage, great location. Only small complaints because it was really expensive so we did expect it to be top notch! Be nice to have enough milk for 4 people when we arrived, and the sofas were stained. But kitchen super well equipped, lots towels, very comfortable.

Great Stay
Just back from a 2 day break at the lord high admiral, we had a terrific time and the free entry to the castle was an added bonus and can recommend the food at the nearby white heart pub

Great cottage in fab location
A great cottage in a fab location, in the castle grounds. Access to the castle being included is an added bonus, which we enjoyed. It’s our second visit to the same cottage, and still lovely, although we had problems with the water being cold for the shower, and bath.

A relaxing week
Enjoyed our stay again and visiting the castle a few times.
I have stayed in the same cottage many times with my sister and enjoyed it as always, but my only gripe is the poor state of the wooden table and chairs at the front of the property, it was grey and by the look of it has never been painted or cleaned and this is a shame because we couldn't sit outside.
Hopefully this will be taken on board before i decide to return.

Lovely cottage, perfect for family
We stayed for a week. Such perfect location for walks and easily access to the town, and wonderful for our little one as we have access to the playground in Sudeley Castle. Cottage is clean and nice. Highly recommended!

Wonderful relaxing stay
We had a really relaxing quiet stay at the cottage. Lovely to see lights on and heating on when we arrived. Really welcoming. Would recommend if you just need to chill.

Lovely quaint location and beautiful cottage
The cottage was beautiful - very clean, large towels provided and the little extras were appreciated. Entry to Sudeley Castle included in the price is a great extra.
No torches left in the cottage which we were expecting on windowsills and the shower in the main bathroom was hit and miss and not very powerful but otherwise a lovely stay.

Looks good, but problems with various systems bring the review down considerably
This expensive property looks good and has an excellent location. But there are various problems with many of its systems: 1. the heating system does not work properly and the instructions in the manual have nothing to do with the actual heater control, which is not labelled at all. The heat either comes on quite high or is off. Try living there for a day and see for yourself. You won't like it. Tried to call the BoltHole help line, got a weird msg that made it sound like somewhere else. Called the emergency line and a man showed up (quickly -- good!) and turned on the heat, but later it went off and was unmanageable. 2. the shower for the bedrm with one large bed works only about 50% of the time. Confusingly, it delivers hot water to the tap, but about 1/2 the time it does not deliver hot water at all to the shower. Very annoying. 3. in that same bathroom there is no screen over the sink outlet, so it is easy to drop bottle caps, rings, etc. down there, and block up the system and lose the item; 4. the First Aid kit has been partially emptied. 5. that same bathroom shower is basically designed to get water on the floor, and with no grab bar and a hi tub and low floor, it will lead to a slip and fall at some point. Dangerous. 6. The other shower is designed so it is impossible to control/change the water temp without getting wet, can lead to scalding. 7. Several TV channels are unwatchable, due to pixelization. All this means the property is not worth the hi price and is not recommended for others.

excellent cottage with up to date facilities close to town and the castle
We came to the Cotswolds to attend our friend's wedding at the Sudeley castle. The cottages were a convenient options for this. As it turned out they were also very comfortable and well located for our needs. It did help that we also had glorious weather for duration of our stay.
Our cottage was comfortable with modern facilities. Great bedrooms and showers. Easy access by car with ample parking spaces.
The information provided about the cottages, arrival and access were very good and accurate.
Very enjoyable stay.

Fabulous accommodation
Really enjoyed our stay at the Lord High Admiral. Great accommodation ,for in our case two couples as we had separate bathrooms. The kitchen had all we needed but we did expect a dishwasher as the blurb suggested we had one. It wasn't an issue though as we took washing up in turns. The welcome pack was much appreciated and the fans as it was a very hot weekend!

Fabulous weekend away.
When we booked this cottage we new very little about Winchcombe, what a gem we have found. There is so much to do on the doorstop, we visited the castle and a couple of the circular walks. All the shops and pubs/restaurants are all walking distance, so our car stayed put during our visit.
The cottage was really comfortable, we would definitely recommend this little complex.
Thank you for helping making our weekend away fabulous.

short break
overall the location was excellent, the property was good except for a few details
1. being the cottage was very clean apart from a few cobwebs and spiders. these were mostly on the curtains
2. we had a issue regarding the tv which didn't appear to have a signal. we tried to call the numbers in the book took a while
for somebody to answer. a guy come out pretty quickly but it was not his job and could not fix it.
he said someone would call the next day. when we came home still no tv. we called again and they said someone
would be sort it. we went out and on returning we had another tv.
3. the outside furniture was not very appealing. and as the weather was very good. would have been nice to sit outside.
4. although the book was very helpful. finding the directions to the castle were not clear. and only found out by chance from a local.

Cotswolds stay
I booked our cottage online. The cottage was lovely and really cosy. Great location too. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. I didn’t receive a confirmation email which meant we didn’t know the code for the cottage when we got there but once we found a member of staff we soon gained access. We would definitely stay again.

Short stay whilst moving house during lockdown.
This was a lovely safe place for us to lock down in the week between selling one home and completing the purchase of another. The stressful experience was made easier by having this lovely place to ourselves.
