This amazing historical home is absolutely the best place we have ever stayed. The decor is stunning and everything is comfortable and convenient. The house is within walking distance of Kanab- a beautiful little town, and is convenient to several parks and attractions. The host is very helpful, and there are lots of brochures and booklets to assist you with your planning. We loved the place and hated to leave.

We had such a great time in Kanab. This home was in a perfect location for the things we wanted to do. There was plenty of room and it was very well stocked. My only issue was with the front door step. As an older woman, it was somewhat difficult getting in and out because the step was do high. I suggest the addition of a small step. Thank you for making this house available to visitors to your lovely community!

The house is so charming and clean. All three bedrooms are great, no arguments over who got what room. House is spotless, no dust on anything including baseboards. I have never stayed in a rental that was this clean. Kitchen is well stocked. The kitchen was fun to cook breakfast in.
The pictures do not show how charming the house is and how big it is. Every corner is decorated perfectly. When we walked into the house we all had huge smiles looking everywhere.
We walked to restaurants and shops.
Super easy to check in. Owner gave clear information of everything we needed.
We will definitely stay here again.

This property was a perfect launching point for many adventures, including National Parks, dark sky viewing, and an ATV tour. The property was very comfortable and as advertised. The town is very nice, good dining options, friendly folks, and mostly walkable from the property.

The Pugh house is in an excellent location in Kanab. Close to many wonderful parks as well as activities in Kanab as well. The home has plenty of space, outside seating areas and an upstairs deck that offers good views in the morning as well as the evening.

We loved our stay! We were there at Thanksgiving, and made our own Thanksgiving day meal! The kitchen was perfect! We found everything we needed. We all appreciated the well restored home! Everything had a vintage look, but felt fresh and new at the same time. This is not your great grandma's rundown home!!! The hosts were friendly and responsive to any questions we had.

Visited at Kanab as launching pad for day trips to Zion and Bryce and it served its purpose well. We really appreciated the opportunity to stay in this historic yet well maintained house. It's not easy to keep a house that's >100 years old comfortable yet authentic and kudos to the hosts for making it happen. I will only change minor things, such as remove or replace the inelegant plastic cover of the dining table. Communicating with Chad was a pleasure — he was prompt, flexible, and gave us good tips. Highly recommended!

Comfy & Convenient Must-Stay!
Four retired girlfriends spent 6 nights. Went beyond expectations, down to the soft toilet paper! Afternoons spent enjoying cool breeze on the patio, with visits from neighborhood kitty. Nights playing cards at square table in the room off the kitchen.
Walked one block to vegan restaurant after work at Best Friends. So glad we chose this house!

Great Home, Great Stay
We stayed at The Pugh House Dec 27-30. Chad and Sheree have done a wonderful job of preserving the history of the home while modernizing it for todays comforts and conveniences. It is everything the pictures show and more, very clean, very comfortable and filled with wonderful old books and other antiques. The house is close to everything in the town of Kanab. We had a great time walking around town and visiting the local parks and sites. When the weather got wet and cold and we weren’t able to drive ourselves to some of the hikes we booked a guided trip with Kanab Tour Company and had a great experience. We will be back!!

October Kanab Visit
Our visit to Kanab was memorable. The house was perfect for our needs. The spacious home was immaculate. We enjoyed the porches and the living areas. I was able to work remotely using the private enclosed porch attached to the kitchen. The location is top-notch because is it walkable to dining, a bakery, and the food store. The kitchen is well- equipped with everything one needs to make meals. Loved all the nearby hiking!

Great house in a great location
The house was great, in a great location for exploring national parks as well as local attractions. However, we were accused by the owners of bringing a pet when we did not. There was a stray cat that always hung around the house, which the kids held and pet, outside. The pet hair got all over their clothes. The owners accused us of lying and turned in a high cleaning fee as an insurance claim. So, if you stay here, don't pet any animals outside.

Unique historic home close to town
We enjoyed our stay in the Pugh historic home with well equipped kitchen and bathrooms. The close in town location made for easy visits for supplies and restaurants etc. We were able to visit 3 National Parks, National Monument, state park and slot canyon hikes.
Overall the stay was comfortable and well located.

Memorable
We came in on a Monday afternoon, and the check-in process was super easy.
We walked to Wild Thyme for dinner, just in time to dine on the patio with a view of the surrounding red rock mountains.
The house is impeccable. The responsiveness of the host is top-notch. The amenities are fabulous. The location was really fun. We all loved being in walking distance to the adorable downtown. I even walked to the public library one morning.
The drive into and out of town is incredibly beautiful, regardless of which direction you're heading for the day. We traveled to Antelope Canyon, the North Rim and the Red Cliffs trailhead with this lovely home as our base.
I imagined that being in town would cause the stars to be less visible than they were. We still enjoyed a balcony view of stars bright enough that the Milky Way was visible (during a new moon). We witnessed a falling star over a silhouette of the red rock mountains at twilight, here.
Ten out of ten, and my husband and daughters agree wholeheartedly.

Picture perfect!
The house was a great landing point for our adventures in Bryce Canyon, Grand Canyon and Zion. Plus there are many things to do right in Kanab- Moqui Sand Caves, Belly of the Dragon and playing in Kanab Creek were a few of our favorites. We’ll be back because there is so much more to explore.
The house was the perfect size for our group of seven. It was decorated and appointed perfectly. We all had a great time checking out all the nooks and crannies. It’s only a block from the quaint downtown so we were able to walk to restaurants.
We will definitely be back in the future to this adorable house in these amazing surroundings.

Peaceful home to create memories. Best birthday ever!
We had a wonderful time at the Pugh house. We were able to completely unpack— from putting our clothes away in dressers and closets to filling a pantry and cooking meals— we were able to relax. The neighborhood is rural but walking distance to coffee and a post office. It’s safe, welcoming, and surrounded by trees. My four year old loved picking grapes and making grape juice. I was able to work remotely and we were able to social distance with no problem. Note: the locals don’t wear masks, so we stayed clear of restaurants. Having laundry (soap provided) and a dishwasher was great and the kitchen was fully stocked with everything you need. We used the grill and had a fancy dinner outside. The beds are comfortable and the claw foot tub was amazing. My husband viewed the stars from the little deck upstairs in the cool crisp night air. My daughter loved the giant bean bag in the little porch room off of the kitchen for reading. Most of all, the house was very very clean and was full of beautiful details. I was worried about dusty antiques but all was functional and beautiful. This is kind of funny but the only thing I would suggest for the property managers would be a little stool for my daughter so she could help cook. We will be back (with our little stool from home) as soon as the house is free to rent. We tried to come next month but it’s booked. Not surprised. Thank you!

Plenty of off road parking for are ATV,s and in close proximity trails to ride. We also took a side trip to the North Rim, only two hours away. We just had a grat time. Stephen Bench

Perfect Kanab Stay
We really enjoyed our stay in the Pugh house. The house itself was very comfortable and warm. Since there was no central heating, we were concerned about being cold but we were warm and cozy. The house itself is beautiful and full of amazing antiques. The location is perfect. We walked into town each and every day. Quite a place to stay and we will choose to stay with these owners again!

Historic yet homey feel
This house was perfect for our family vacation! It’s such a gorgeous space — we marveled at its architecture and decor. We also very much appreciated its central locale: we were able to quickly walk to restaurants, coffee shops, 3 grocery stores and a gym, but also quickly get on the road to major attractions like Best Friends, Zion and the North Rim.
At the end of a long day, the house felt very inviting to come home to, and did a great job offering communal areas where all gathered to cook and eat, but also plenty of space to spread out and relax separately.
We’re already hoping to return to this lovely house in the future!
