We had an incredible week at the house. The hot tub was great to come home to after a busy day out walking and checking out the beaches.
It was so handy to have a shop and pubs so close. The restaurant on the corner was lovely.
We would definitely return

We loved Awelon really well furnished and everything you could need supplied
The courtyard needs some TLC it could be so pretty
The1 downside was the outside bin it was full to overflowing when we arrived and very smelly due to the warm temperatures
I did email hoping that it could emptied but nothing was done
My husband had to push the rubbish down to enable us to use it
Kind regards Glenys

Lovely house. Very suitable for the mix of ages we had on our holiday. Lots to do in the area and if you have a car it’s a fabulous base. Hot tub a massive bonus at the end of a long day!
Loved the toys and games and books for the kids and tea and biscuit treats for us. Diana is a great host!

Fantastic family house - 10 of us, aged from 1-75, stayed for Easter weekend and the house was probably the best equipped I’ve ever experienced in a rental: from stair gates to games, heated drying rack and loads of films, there were so many items to make life easier. As other reviews said, it’s brilliantly positioned next to a great pub, a small Spar and a fab fish and chip shop which managed our order with no problems, despite there being lots of us on a busy weekend. Beds were great, bathrooms were clean and it was great to have so many, and everyone commented on how lovely the rooms smell!
It was a short and flat walk to Porthmadog, parking at the house was easy, and Diana was really helpful with the only small issue we encountered (which was sorted straight away as she helped me find the right cupboard).
If we ever get the chance to return, we definitely will.

We are a two families with 4 kids aged 6 - 10 and booked the house for a New Years Eve getaway. The house was lovely and had everything we needed, plenty of room, good sized kitchen with everything you would need (and more!), nice log fire and a hot tub. Slight negatives, the 2 rooms on the 3rd floor are in the eaves so have limited head room, but they do have ensuites! There's not a great deal of outside space, the court yard is fine for socialising, BBQ etc. On the positive, its situated in a nice square, there are 2 pubs within 20yds of the front door as well as a Spar shop. We had a lovely time and would definitely recommend.

Beautiful village square full of Welsh stone buildings. Our house stood proud on the corner and was everything the booking information said. Plenty of room for six adults and two children, with a hot tub as a bonus.

A fabulous house in a beautiful location
We have just returned from a wonderful stay in this beautiful house. It is beautifully decorated and furnished with
really cosy feel. The kitchen was extremely well stocked and the hot tub was just the icing on the cake. There were 3 families and we had plenty of space for everyone. Tremadog is a lovely little town and the Spar shop was very handy just over the road. Porthmadog is also within walking distance with lots of gift shops, cafes and supermarkets. The house is in a great location for exploring, the beautiful Blackrock Sands Beach was only a 10 minute drive away and we had many days visiting Snowdonia, the scenery on the doorstep was fantastic.
Very smooth and easy check in and check out, thanks for a lovely stay, hopefully we will be back one day!

Family Break
This property was perfect. It’s ideally situated in a lovely little hamlet, where there is 2 pubs, a spar and a lovely restaurant, and we used them all as they were all on our doorstep, literally! Black rock beach and walking up Snowdon are a must! We were 2 families, of 9 in total. Property was perfectly sized and comfortable. Clean and maintained! Hot tub, was also a nice additional touch, especially for the kids and after a long walk.

All in all a very pleasant break.

Great family house
We had a really good time in this house, it’s location is everything you could want - close to beaches and mountains. We unfortunately picked the wrong week weather wise and a small gripe would be that the house had no tumble dryer, ten peoples wet washing when the weather is bad is not great. However even this wouldn’t stop us returning in the future,
Diana was very accommodating.

Weekend away
Property was clean, very nice, even better than it looks on the website.
Check in was quite late though, 5pm. Email from VRBO said 3pm so left us hanging around for a while.

Lovely village with great amenities.
Excellent property for a large group. Very well positioned for easy access to the area. Excellent amenities in the Square spar shop 2 pubs and a restaurant. Everybody in the village very friendly and helpful. The house needs a bit of modernisation. The gas cooker if catering for a large number is inadequate.

Fantastic place
We stayed as a group of 10 and there was plenty of space for all of us! There are two pubs, a spar, a restaurant and chippy (amazing fish) all practically next door. We walked into Porthmadog for one day and got train to pwhelli - was very easy and about 15min leisurely walk.
Lots of board games, books and even stair gates for children!
All round awesome place to stay with great location and plenty of space.
Loved the log fire in a chilly November

Spacious, clean, comfortable. Well equipped - Everything we needed was available. Great pub next door but one with excellent food. Shop opposite for provisions. Well located for Snowdonia Park. Will definitely consider coming back.

Great location, homely and comfortable, well equipped.
2 families of 4 weren't crowded at all in Awelon. Its homely, comfortable, well-equipped and even in August, the wood burning stove came in handy in the evening.
Great location, 2 pubs literally on the doorstep, shop over the road for essentials (very expensive!), Porthmadoc only a 10 minute walk away through woodland or 5 minutes in the car.
With so many great places to visit within an hour's drive, this cottage did have it all for us, location and comfort. Highly recommended.

Great Little House
Overall this was a great house. Its showing its age a little around the edges and needs some improvement works, especially round the bathroom areas. But don't let the rustic nature put you off, it was great for a weekend stay and we all enjoyed the house. Also, the pub next door does a great breakfast.

Awelon is a lovely property, but had to mop kitchen floor , due to tea stains.
Overall a great stay to visit my family and do some reminiscing with the next generation, will hopefully book again next year.

Lovely warm home from home!
With a three generation, eight member family coming together for a weeks holiday we found Awelon the perfect base for hiking (us), the coast (my parents) and all the other activities snowdonia has to offer such as the railways and Zipworld activities (the kids). The house was warm and comfortable with plenty of room for us all to socialise together and find our own space, with the kids overjoyed with the discovery of all the toys, books and dvds about the place. Tremadog square with a coulple of friendly pubs is a bonus and only a short walk into Portmadog where you can easily find shops, Purple Moose brewery pub (fab beer!) and the steam railways - an important element to our holiday as my Dad helped to design bridges and build the Ffestiniog years back.
In all a lovely weeks holiday in a comfortable and welcoming home. I hope we'll be back one day!

McGonagle Clossick visit to Tremadog Awelon
We had a thoroughly enjoyable family holiday of three generations. The house was very spacious and ideal for our needs there was plenty of room for the children to play games of cards and scrabble and television for the inevitable early mornings with a three and five year old. Our eldest granddaughter loved being able to escape her brother by going up to the top floor room. The dining room was great as we are firm believers of all sitting down together to eat our meals the large table and chairs made this possible.
We ate out a couple of times at the Golden Fleece very handy to walk to and they were very accommodating. We went into Porthmadog a couple of times and the short cut through the woods was very interesting lots of muddy puddles and we spotted many squirrels. I had purchased a town trail of Porthmadog that was very taxing but we saw parts of the town never seen before including the nature reserve with its many birds. The carrot to get them round was a visit to Cadwalladas for the biggest ice cream. We also had a days in Portmerion, Criccieth and the Beacon climbing center and an afternoon on the beach at Borth-y-Guest. There is no shortage of things to do in the area.
The house was very tastefully set out with some lovely prints on the walls and unusual pieces of furniture. The house could have done with a sweeping broom! the natty hand cleaner for crumbs was OK but not good on grandma' s knees!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and have already recommended the property to other members of our family.

Lovely cottage; great location.
We loved our stay at Awelon cottage near Porthmadaog. There were a couple of pubs a stones' throw away, it provided us with easy access to Snowdon and the facilities at the cottage were just what we needed. (The BBQ was a nice touch.) We would recommend it to others wanting to explore North West Wales.
