We had a fantastic holiday. The villa is great and has everything you need. We were particularly thankful for the air conditioning but it is the outside space that we enjoyed the most. The pool was a real hit and we spent plenty of time sitting out and admiring the view. Yunquera itself is a traditional Spanish village with a small supermarket and a number of other shops. We did struggle to eat out there as many places seem to be shut in the week. Not a problem if you want to venture further afield.

The villa was fantastic, such a great location! It was clean and well-maintained, the pool in particular was excellent. The stairs were a bit low for tall people but nothing that couldn't be managed. It was very slightly disappointing that the hammock and bean bags featured in the online photos were not there, but this is a minor grumble! We all had a fabulous time - the villa was great, Yunquera was the real deal and the shops, bard and restaurants were all we needed, so much so that we only left the town once!
Highly recommended, we had a fabulous time. And those views...

Beautiful villa, very well kept, has everything you need, but most importantly beautiful views and infinity pool to enjoy the views after a hot day of travelling Andalusia. The host Andy was extremely helpful and nice. Parking was a little tricky but we got a hang of it after a couple of times. Will highly recommend if you want to feel Spain! Thank you , Andy and Stefan! If you are in the states, please come visit me in Ridge Maryland :)

Great location for a relaxing country holiday
The property is an old converted building on the side of a very traditional and local village (no tourism so true Andalucían life). It is rural but stunning in terms of views. The outside space of the house is amazing. Massive and really lovely. The pool is by far the best we have ever had in a property. The views. Well…worth the trip alone. The house is really nice and perfectly adequate for a few weeks. It has everything you need. The only area to be aware of is parking which is pretty difficult due to the nature of the roads to get to it but once you have done it once it’s fine. The village is lovely. Small and relaxed but lovely. Andy is checked us in and looked after us is a gent. Really nice and will help with anything you need. Overall it was a great stay. Ronda is well worth a trip and the roads are stunning (twisty but stunning). It’s a bike riders paradise. Highly recommended

Yunquera 08/2021

Excellent holiday retreat!
Thoroughly enjoyed our week at the villa. Views were stunning, villa well-equipped and infinity pool to die both in terms of the view from it and for it being such a bonus when the heat got too much. Would highly recommend it but not for anyone struggling with stairs as on several levels as explained in the property description. A real find if you want to escape the rat race and go to a part of Spain which is not touristy at all.

Stunning Property
The house is immaculately designed and fitted out. Yunquera is not the easiest place to get to - the road from the Malaga area gets smaller and bendier the closer you get and the road from Ronda is even worse. Parking has to be at the bottom of a steep hill as well.
Fortunately when you finally get there you will not want to leave...….The infinity pool is awesome and you will spend many hours just watching the world go by looking down into the valley below. Plenty of sun loungers and a hammock to spend the day reading as well. Even a mock Roman amphitheatre...…...
In August it was warm enough to go in the pool at any time of the day or evening and the floodlighting makes this easy. Evening is the time to take advantage of the two barbeques and also the table tennis table and other games.
If the heat gets too much then the house is beautifully cool and comfortable. There is a TV and DVD but we did not use either. The kitchen is all you'd ever need - if you can be bothered to cook. Yunquera has a range of well priced restaurants and you don't need to speak fluent Spanish.
The bedrooms are cool and comfortable. The master is where you'd spend the time due to the balcony and furniture and the fact that now you are effectively on the fifth floor so the views are even more stunning.
What happens if anything goes wrong? Well this was well and truly tested as we came back after dinner to find no electricity in the pool area. We phoned the manager next day and he was straight over to investigate. It needed an electrician so at 0700 next day (and it was a weekend) he duly arrived and 2 hours later it was solved.
We were there 2 weeks. Went to Ronda one day, did the Caminito del Ray another, and then Gibraltar another. That was it. No-one wanted to leave the property - it's that good.

Yunquera Finca
Our overall experience was very good and it is true that the Finca has absolutely stunning views. The villa is well equipped and the unheated pool gave lots of pleasure to our young - even at the end of October!!
The local manager of the villa, Andy, is excellent and very helpful. We had a problem with hot water and the operation of the showers which he tried to deal with as best he could. We have told the owners about this.
Clients need to remember that Yunquera is a very old, authentic, rural village on a steep hillside and as a result car parking, whilst generally available nearby, needs considerable care.
A truly memorable (for all the right reasons) holiday!

Style and facilities in a beautiful rural setting
Yunquera is charming village combining the old traditional rural life with just enough of a selection of Bars, restaurants and small food shops to make for an ideal 'off the tourist trail' holiday.I suspect most 'tourists' are Spanish (weekenders with Villas and walkers - there's a campsite a little way outside the village) and you certainly need to use your best 'holiday' Spanish and sign language, but everyone is extremely helpful and friendly. As the property description says, you have breathtaking views over the mountain and if you look out early you will see local farmers driving their sheep up the road to higher grazing or taking their mule up to their land to work for the day.( you do get a little 'rural' smell in the air :-) We loved lying by the pool watching the odd cloud refection in the pool and the light change on the landscape beyond - and then there was watching the Alpine Swifts swooping in for a quick sip of water from the sparkling pool...
The villa has been stylishly designed, with a lot of attention to detail, to make the most of it's location and is well equipped with everything you would need to cook / BBQ, including a great size fridge freezer with cold water and ice, very good air-conditioning. and comfy beds! I originally wondered if the number of levels might be tedious, but it was absolutely no problem and it was good to be able to spread out outside and come back together for drinks etc
There is an excellent information folder in the house and we would have missed some of the bars/shops without the guide as there are many little streets and some places do not have noticeable signs ( the locals all know where they are!!)
We had a great night stargazing from the 'tower' - such clear skies; some excellent meals - particularly at 'Enara'; lovely coffees in the village; good gin and tonics in various bars;a great day visit to Ronda; and a really, really relaxed time. We'd thoroughly recommend it, if you don't like being a 'processed tourist'!
