About this house rental
Listed June 2018
Sunset Spa Villa has undergone a transformation and been recently tastefully decorated. The feel of the house is modern, yet relaxed, cosy and intimate.
Sit on the deck and watch the rest of the family or friends play cricket, taking in a stunning sunset across Curley’s Bay, toward Coolangatta mountain while you are sipping your favourite tipple.
The 180 degree view with a NNW aspect ensures that the house is kept warm on sunny winter days and not too hot in the summers.
200m flat walk away from Woolies and all the local shops, your morning caffeine fix only 200m away!
If the evening is a bit chilly, Take a warm bath in the spa bath for romance or just to feel good. Just ask us to turn the heating on for $35-$50 per day depending on how hot you would like it. Then keep up the warmth in front of the open fire in the living room. With a 900m flat walk to the beach, that’s an easy stroll , and if the active ones have got enough of sun for the day, play some table tennis in the rumpus.
Horizons has 4 large bedrooms, two bathrooms and two toilets, one of the bathrooms has a spa bath with separate walk-in shower. The large kitchen comes fully equipped ,separate laundry, three separate living areas to make sure you are not tripping over each other. The large day room overlooking the view is warmed in winter and cool in summer, the dining room adjoins the kitchen and has the log-fire, there is a large TV room with a Smart TV if you have played too much monopoly in the evenings. Wifi access is included. Ceiling fans in the bedrooms and TV room, and Air-condition in the main living area.
The dinner table easily seats 8 people and so does the outdoor ding area. A four burner BBQ on the deck lends itself enjoyable outdoor cooking taking in the views. We have chosen to not have any fences in the garden to be able to enjoy the views and the openness you rarely find in a town.
What else to do if you have to leave the house and garden...
Culburra has two surf beaches, Warrain and Culburra Beach. Warrain is patrolled by the local SLSC club year round. Culburra Beach is patrolled at peak times through the summer only. Beaches are dog friendly so if you’re bringing your best friend check out days and times when dogs are allowed on the beaches.
At the Wollumboola Lake you will find plenty of good fishing spots and places to launch your boat. and while you're there see if you can spot the gorgeous black swans during certain times of the year.
As mentioned Culburra's local shops are just 200m from the house and there is everything you will need here. This includes a new and large Woolworths supermarket, a BWS, great cafe's, bakery, pharmacy and newsagents. For some pampering there is a nail salon and a Bellissima Day Spa as well as a local Establish gym.
For dining there are plenty of options with the Culbarra Bowling Club offering pizza, Chinese and local fare, for good measure there is also a Chinese restaurant and a pizzeria in the town, both great options for take-away in front of the TV! Or for something a little more fancy try Little Snapper just 100m up the road, no need to drive!
There are lots of mountain bike trails and walks to take in the fresh air or stroll along the long stretch of beaches. Also, visit the lighthouse at Crookhaven heads about a 15 mins walk each way. You might be lucky enough to spot some seals, dolphins or even whales.
Take a short-drive to enjoy a lovely dinner at the renowned Butter Factory restaurant, or on the way down don’t forget to stop at the JindyAndy Mill to treat the kids at the lolly shop and get your holiday off to the right start!
Only 2-3 hours from Sydney, 15 min from Nowra and 30 minutes from the world-renowned Berry, Kangaroo Valley and Jervis Bay areas. Take a drive to local areas such as Callala Bay and Callala Beach, Currawong and Huskisson to see more of what the beautiful south coast has to offer
There is plenty to do if you seek it out or just sit back and relax and enjoy the view!...

I cannot gush enough about our stay, starting with the house, size of rooms, and living areas, an amazing pool that allowed the whole family to swim no matter the weather, and lastly our host, who made us feel very welcome and made sure all our needs (including a shop that came early!) were catered for. 10/10

We had a wonderful stay. The house is large and well set out. It is walking distances to local shops and restaurants, which was really convenient.

Accommodation was great! Exactly as described and perfect for the group of us for a lovely relaxing 10 day vacation. Great location within walking distance of everything we needed to get to and the house had all appliances and accessories we needed.
Camilla was a great communicator and very quick to respond if we had a question about anything.
Definitely recommend Culburra Beach and this house for a holiday and will hope to return again.

Nice property well located for a weekend getaway. Would be happy to return.

Amazing property
There are only a couple of things that I could fault about the property. 1. The internal sliding doors need to be fixed as they are not on the tracks. 2. The umbrella for the back was missing and we had to go buy some as the sun was brutal without any shade. The property is in a fantastic location. The heated pool was fantastic and the beds incredibly comfortable. Will come back!

Family Weekend Away
Had a lovely time at Culburra, loved the pool. Would definately return. Quick response for a minor problem with turning on the oven which was great.

Great view but needs a deep clean and update
We enjoyed the the location, size/layout of the property and sitting on the deck or in the pool looking at the view was fantastic. However the property needs a really good deep clean, whilst bedding and bathroom clean the fans had caked on dirt (including the extraction fans in bathrooms/toilet), the carpets were very stained and dirty, the BBQ was unusable it was disgusting, the bench tops and tiles have been painted over in a long ago renovation and are now peeling off and sticky, shelves dusty and dirty. We communicated these issues with the property manager and where basically told we are doing our best to keep up but it is what it is. We had had enough of cleaning a holiday home by the time it came to the BBQ and demanded that be cleaned so we could use it, the cleaner came the next day. Such a pity that a house isn’t maintained/cleaned properly as it could be such a great place.

Simply perfect!
Myself and 8 friends spent 5 days in this beautiful home! The location is great... woollies is literally a 2 min walk from the house, as is the petrol station, coffee house and a bakery as well as some other small goods stores! Culburra Beach is also very close and quite nice. We went on day trips almost every single day, husky, Hyams beach, Callala bay/beach and Nowra central just to name a few are all within a 15-40 min drive so it is quite the location.
The pool whilst small comfortably fit all 8 of us! We also had the pool heated, it was wonderful at night, it allowed us to really enjoy the outdoor space without freezing ourselves! The outdoor space was also really great, the yard is so large that you almost forget where you are! the non gated grass area is magnificent, the neighbours were out of sight & mind (the noise restrictions were however still obeyed by for respect and courtesy!) The overall feel of the outdoor area was amazing, watching the sunrise/set was also enchanting as there was no obstruction to the beautiful skies!
The kitchen is equipt with the basic needs, I will suggest that if you are cooking for 8 adults that you do bring some chopping boards and serving dishes as the kitchen allowed us to cook everything we wanted but not serve it the way we wished. The easiest option for us when cooking was todo share plates and noticed we needed some extra dishes for the table and extra chopping boards for the girls cooking. the bbq was great, we did many bacon and egg mornings and bbq dinners with ease.
The water pressure was also great, in some homes if 2 people use both showers it weakens the pressure of the water, we didn't experience that at all! There is also plenty of mirrors in the house so no one is fighting to get ready to go out, we were a group of 8 girls so this was very important to us! I will suggest that if you have thick or long hair to bring a hairdryer as the one provided whilst it works, it takes longer then the average to dry long or thick hair.
The house was also very affordable as myself and my friends only work part-time that was a big factor! Woolworths being close allowed us only purchase perishable goods as we needed & not overspend. The location of the home for the price was also great, as I mentioned before the day trips are very easy as everything is close!
To top it off the property manager was extremely understanding and helpful from start to finish, very easy to communicate with!

overall good
Overall good property but would have liked to know in the property description that water access was not possible due to the mangrove swamp at the bottom of the property. We selected the property because we thought it had water access.
Some issues with cleanliness, ie sticky kitchen benches, cobwebs.
Would have been good to have a mobile contact for the property manger as we couldn't find the key.

South Coast Getaway
This house is a lovely place for a family or group of friends to enjoy a holiday. The house itself is very homely and welcoming. We were kept entertained with all the facilities provided - the beautiful gardens, scenic views, pool/spa, BBQ, wifi, smart tv and board games. The area itself is very quiet, a lot of the cafes etc only open certain days of the week. However there is a local woolies 30 seconds from the house and the quietness of the area was exactly what we were after. The owner was lovely to deal with, answered all our questions and was very responsive which was also helpful and reassuring. I would highly recommend this rental, you will have a great time.

Lovely family break
We enjoyed it our stay in this comfortable home, which has been clearly lovingly decorated by Camilla.
A pool is a must with young kids, and the addition of the pool on the deck really made the holiday fantastic for the kids.

Good but needs some TLC
The house was spacious, comfortably accommodating 8 adults and an infant. The view from the deck and plunge pool was great.
The heating of the plunge pool/spa required an additional cost of as stated in the online listing. However this was only for 28-32c. For 32-37c (advised by property manager that the top temperature is dependent on how cold it is outside) for more than listed. We opted for the hotter option and although we followed instructions to keep the pool blanket on when not in use and minimal use of jets, the pool didn't feel warm enough to comfortably enjoy the spa (note that our three days during the stay were warm but windy).
Cleanliness of the house could be improved. On arrival the benches and tables were sticky. My brother told me there was mould in the closet.
The house could also do with a little TLC as beds were squeaky (mattresses were soft if you prefer that), doors were squeaky and some handles missing/loose. Tv remote did not work. We could not find a teapot. There was one in one of the rooms but wasn't sure if it was a decorative piece or actual teapot as it wasn't in the kitchen when we arrived.
Overall it was a nice spacious house, good for a short stay. It was close to the shops with Woolworths just around the corner and a really good coffee shop.
It's the little things that make a stay special and unfortunately this house didn't have that for us.

The house is spacious, bright and clean. Great location with a fantastic view. The plunge pool / spa was heated to a perfect temperature and got a lot of use across the weekend. Plenty of room for kids to run around and a wonderful, large deck.

Perfect Family Getaway
We stayed at this property during the school holidays after COVID travel restrictions were lifted in NSW. It was the perfect place to spend a few days. I have 3 primary-school-aged children and 2 mini schnauzer dogs. This property is well-suited to both children and dogs. The children were very content to swim in the spa pool for hours (as were the adults!) and the large deck was a great place to eat, just sit & look at the water or even do a bit of work (WFH, as so many of us have realised, is both good and bad). The wifi works seamlessly which is very handy.
The property has appropriate furniture - functional, comfortable, looks good, but also not too precious that you worry the kids will wreck something.
The kitchen is the same. If you especially like to cook, then I would suggest bringing any specialty tools with you that you particularly enjoy cooking with. Kitchen tools are basic in range but also functional and not precious - which is good. There’s a 100ml measuring cup, but not a full set; there’s one chopping board so bring another if you have multiple cooks who like to cook together; there’s a mixer but no food processor. I don’t use coffee pod machines, but for those who especially like them, bring your own. There’s plenty of cutlery, plates, pots, mixing bowls and roasting dishes. There’s also basic supplies like salt, pepper, oil, dishwasher tablets. We were able to cook everything we wanted, including home made pastry for a fruit tart.
The beds are comfortable and have plenty of pillows. The bathrooms are clean and functional. I appreciated the provision of good quality pump soap at all the sinks and a pump container of body wash.
Even though we had some very cold winter nights while there, the house was very warm. We didn’t even need to light the fire.
There is a doggie door (not many holiday properties have this so this was a great surprise) so you don’t need to get up in the middle of the night to let the dog out for a toilet break. The door is large enough for a mini schnauzer but not, say, a labradoodle. There is no fenced in area. While this was not a concern for us as our dogs are old and not going far, this might concern some pet owners. The grass area is very large and well maintained.
Thank you for a wonderful and relaxing break. We are looking forward to staying again!

Perfect holiday rental property
Have already rebooked for January, this is an ideal house for a getaway - layout and size of the house is great, but the addition of the expansive deck, plunge pool and enormous back yard is such a bonus. Really great couple of days.

Best thing - the small plunge pool, although paid daily for it.
Disappointed with this property.
On top of nightly accomodation rate, We had to pay a daily fee to have the small plunge pool heated.
House was dusty, only 1 set of bathroom towels & facewashers left for us and they were stained.
Propert was fly & mosquito ridden with most windows without fly screens or they were broken. Property had no tea towels, hand towels, tissues etc. Mismatched bed linen, house could do with an overall sprouse.

Great location with some let downs
We had an enjoyable stay at this property and the location is great with convenient shops just a few min walk away however there were some let downs:-
- A lot of dog hair all over the carpet that can’t be seen until you have a child crawling around and coughing it up
- No pergola on the deck however the garage was a suitable back up for when it rained
- Paying extra for the heating of the pool for unfortunate
- No access to the water at the back of the property
- No privacy on the back deck as about 4 neighbouring properties have direct oversight
I must say though that the room sizes were large and comfortable and they have done a good job and refreshing the property so it felt modern. The shower was large and good water pressure also.

The house is well set up for a short stay. Located next to the shops, skate park and just a short walk to the beach. Kept the kids occupied also exploring the mangroves.

June weekend
We had a fabulous stay over a long weekend in winter and the house was perfect for us, with multiple spaces for the family to entertain themselves in. The fire was wonderful on the real winter day, while the deck and pool were perfect on the day that was sunny and warm. The property was well located to all the amenities and the bmx track around the corner was a real crowd pleaser with the kids. Would certainly come back.

Everything you need for a relaxing holiday.
We enjoyed our stay at Sunset Shore. Everything you need is within easy walking distance; beach, river, shops including Woolies, good coffee and lovely restaurants like the Little Snapper. The house was wonderfully spacious for our two families; especially with a separate living area to keep the four teenagers entertained so it never felt noisy or crowded. The large deck with plunge pool and spa was perfect for enjoying a meal, or relaxing after a trip to the beach. We really appreciated Camilla's excellent communication and attention to all our needs. It really was a very relaxing and comfortable holiday. We had never been to Culburra Beach before but would happily return for a stay at Sunset Shore. Thank you Camilla and team.

The house was great for our extended family.
My family of 8 spent 3 nights at Culburra and the house was very comfortable. Lots of room for everyone. Beds were especially comfy 😊 Decorated lovely.
Unfortunately, we forgot about noise restrictions on the first night and felt extremely bad about it.
Everything was easily accessible from the house, with shops a handy couple of minutes away.
The pool looked great but the filter had not been set at all. Hopefully this will be rectified for the next visitors. There were a couple of things that could be fixed but overall we enjoyed our stay.

Space, comfort and a magic view
We recently enjoyed a Winter getaway at Sunset Shore, Culburra. This home is generous in proportions and comfort. Our extended family (great grandmother down to toddler) had the loveliest time in this beautiful and peaceful location. Sunset Shore is an ideal place for a perfect family holiday. Thank you, Camilla, for providing all that we needed for a relaxing time away. We hope to visit again very soon.
