About this house rental
The cottage is located on Indian Point, a small private community within a 400 acre land preserve of woods, beaches, bays , tidal sand flats, majestic rock promontories and spectacular views. Guests enjoy access to several sandy beaches and miles of nature trails.
The cottage is set off the main road and offers plenty of privacy. Steps from the cottage is a beautiful sandy beach on a inlet perfect for swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding or fishing off the near by rocks. From the cottage and beach, you’ll see amazing views of the the Atlantic and classic Maine views of pine tree covered Islands, majestic light houses and rocky coves littered with colorful lobster buoys.
The cottage itself is great for a small family or a romantic getaway. It is well equipped, clean and very well maintained. The cottage interior is all natural pine with a stone fireplace. The open kitchen/dining/ living room area overlooks the beach and spectacular views.
Indian Point is at the southern most tip of Georgetown Island. Though most guests stay on Indian Point for its feeling of a remote island get away, others take the ten minute drive to well known Georgetown attractions such as the beaches of Reid State Park or Five Islands Lobster Wharf, known for its delicious lobster feasts and one of the prettiest views in Maine. Other Georgetown attractions include ,Georgetown Pottery and several artists' galleries. A little farther down the road, twenty minutes away is the historic town of Bath with its many wonderful shops and restaurants as well as the Maine Maritime Museum. Just a half hour drive away is the town of Brunswick with many shops and galleries as well as Bowdoin College with it’s museum, theatre and other activities. For more sightseeing and activites, Portland and Boothbay Harbor are both only an hour drive away.
There is no better place for vacation.... anytime from April through November!

Everything about this property is heavenly. From the old cottage (which is so cozy!) to the location, it all blends together for the perfect oasis! This was our second stay and trust me when I say, both times we didn’t want to leave and felt like we left a little piece of ourselves each time. Thank you Nora & Cliff for sharing your little slice of heaven with us!

Another wonderful time at the point. Norah and Cliff are great hosts and loved the time on the beach, climbing the rocks, hiking or just relaxing and reading on the screened in porch. Proximity to Five Islands is a plus with unlimited lobster and clams.

Pictures don’t do the location justice! The owners were so helpful and responsive, and the house had everything we could possibly need. It was clean and well-maintained. We ate almost every meal on the picnic table in the yard, and then popped on down to the beach to play. Norah and Cliff provided all of the info we could ever need to find the perfect trails to hike and places to visit. We felt blessed to have gotten this experience!

This was our (my mom and I) first trip to Maine and will def not be the last. Norah and Cliff were wonderful hosts. The home is incredibly comfortable, cozy, warm and inviting. The location is beyond words! We were looking for a quiet spot near water where we could sit outside, chill, read, play games and drink wine :-) - this home was all of that and more. We took some day trips that were really easy and convenient to take from the house - to Bath, Boothbay, and the Maine Botanical Gardens. Will def be booking this home again in the future! Thank you Norah and Cliff!!

Just a flight of steps away from the ocean. We soaked up the ocean sights, sounds, and smells. Can’t wait to return.

Spectacular View
A quiet location with a perfect ocean view that comes right up to a rustic and comfortable cabin. My wife and I were overwhelmed with this experience that we gladly take back with us as an unforgettable memory.

Wonderful spot
The cottage is cozy and the location and view are unbeatable. The surrounding area was very quiet while we were there. We found that the cottage had everything we needed during our stay. Norah was very communicative leading up to the stay and made us feel very welcome. Our favorite things were the view, sitting by the fire in the evenings and listening to the waves crashing as we fell asleep. We hope to be back in the future.

Amazing views
We loved the cottage and the location! I was able to see an amazing sunrise one morning. We did a lot of exploring on the beach looking for shells.

A slice of heaven.
If you are looking for a quiet secluded location where you have your own sandy beach and a cozy cottage, This is for you. The views are amazing, the cottage is clean and wonderful and fully equipped. We used the fireplace almost every night. There is abundant wildlife to see and some awesome hiking trails. The owners, Cliff and Norah are wonderful people. They are there if you need anything and they are so down to earth. They are what you would call the salt of the earth, people who work hard and really care about the world and the people in it. We will be back!

Perfect cottage getaway
We were looking for a safe getaway for our family of 4 and boy did we find it. This adorable little cottage was just perfect. The pictures do not do this location justice, you have to see it to believe it. It is absolutely breathtaking. The beach was steps off of the front yard and the rock climbing options dazzled my 7 and 10 year old. We had a lovely family vacation and left feeling recharged and dreaming of going back. We will definitely be visiting again. The owners were lovely and welcoming. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Beautiful location
We loved our stay in the cottage. The location was amazing - just steps to the sandy beach and access across the track to another beach loaded with shells. Being so close to the ocean was ideal for a relaxing break.

A Magical Place
My only reservation in recommending this property is that I want to keep it a secret. My family and I had an absolutely wonderful time here. The owners are marvelous people and happy to give pointers on the area. The view is astounding. My family and I spent much of our time simply exploring the nearby shores and forests. The cottage itself is cozy and well maintained with a wonderful, fully functioning fireplace. We plan to stay here again if we can find an opening.

Perfect!!
My mother and I stayed here for a few nights in mid-October to be able to relax and get away. This cottage was magical. The fireplace, the cozy furniture, the view (the VIEW!!), the beach, the woods, the gorgeous surroundings, the games, everything was just so on point. The owners were more than gracious and helpful. This was exactly what we needed, and it exceeded all of our expectations. We cannot recommend this cottage enough, and cannot wait to come back!

Great location
Lovely location, very peaceful and beautiful. The photos are great and it’s even more gorgeous in person. However — if you are sensitive to dust or smells, or have allergies, I would not recommend. The house has a strong musty smell, and while it probably would not bother most people, if you are sensitive it is uncomfortable (even with windows open and airflow).

Indian point is a special place and the Promontory pt property and it’s own private beach made for an excellent week.

Perfect spot!
We rent a house in Maine every year and many of them have been wonderful. This one is right at the top of the list. The location is fantastic - a beautiful private beach right out the front door; at the end of that beach, a spectacular rocky coastline dotted with sea birds and even (early in the morning) deer; lovely coastal walking trails within walking distance from the house; fantastic kayaking..... I could go on and on! Bottom line: just rent this place. - if you can!! You won't regret it!
