Excellent location for exploring the many treasures in the Hunter Valley. Although on a busy road we were used to the noise. The cottage had everything we needed (except a laundry basket). The cottage has a well appointed kitchen, comfy beds and good climate control.
The laundry could do with a laundry basket

The location of the property was perfect. Close to the local supermarket, Hunter Valley Gardens, Wineries, Wildlife Zoo, etc… The hosts David and Hilary had fantastic communication, they were very accommodating when we had extended family stay for 1 of the nights.
The only negative is that the property is on a main road however this is clearly stated in the description so we weren’t surprised about the traffic noise outside.

The constant noise of road traffic was really quite stressful. It was hard to relax or sleep.

The kitchen was clean and air con and tv worked
code to get in wasn’t correct but owners resolved that by phone - bed/ mattress and linen quality very poor furnishings not what the pictures told us ..

Conveniently located near service station for immediate needs and short drive to shops and restaurants in town.
The sofa in the lounge room was uncomfortable - also could not locate a remote for the Apple TV - minor problems in the scheme of things.

Property is pet friendly and kitchen is good size. TV is good with Netflix available. New couches and new patio furniture are great. Hosts are responsive and very considerate.
Bedrooms face the very busy concrete road and it makes sleeping very difficult. Even late at night the noise every time a car went by was disturbing. The kitchen and lounge have a stale smell but after airing the house for a couple of hours, it was ok. We found the neighbours dogs a big problem as our dogs couldn’t use the big garden due to the neighbouring dogs barking and scratching on the fence. We could also smell the neighbouring property dog mess at night which made it very difficult to sit on the back patio.

it is very central and sleeps a lot of people if needed - there are mattresses everywhere!
the couch was rediculously uncomfortable - it was stuffed with something that felt like old clothes. bathroom window was LOCKED open and no key to close it. The Hunter in the middle of winter and an open window don’t mesh very well!

photos of property do not align with actual property. Aged and broken furniture which differs to images, oven/appliances different to images, noisy location, very dusty and poorly maintained.

Central location to shops
The place smelled very bad.
Damp carpets and mildue smell.
AC did not work but when contacted host they said maybe batteries were needed and dropped it off for the remote. Hole in bathroom door.
Loud noise from road traffic and this was a big problem as the bedrooms were in front of the house thus hearing the loud noise and unable to sleep well. The pictures on the site look so nice but when you go there, the place is old and run down. Windows could not open to get the fresh air in due to trying to eliminate of the damp smelly air inside the house.
Overall, very disappointing and judging by the pictures on site, it was quite the opposite.

Everything was there that we needed.
Clean & cosy.
Maybe a replacement lounge is required.
Springs are hard to sit on.
The noise level of the front road is hard to sleep early morning as quite a busy road.

Great big kitchen and lots of beds.
Accomodating owners at check out time
Great yard space for the pets
Not overly clean, a dirty old couch sitting outside, “spa” bath that is advertised jets do not work.
On a very busy main road so traffic heard all night
Very uncomfy broken couch inside loungeroom, comfier to sit on floor.
Large hole in back of bathroom door
Very stuffy and dusty with funny smell upon arrival.

Lounge was old and uncomfortable but great little cottage.

Close proximity to everything
Photos of property very misleading over priced for what you get. Furniture extremely old torn and broken & uncomfortable . Old disgusting lounge just sat out on back verandah. New lounge smelt like poo was so uncomfortable & torn. Smoke butts left on concrete, bins left over full so no room for us, fans not washed. Had to move beds around to suit 3 couples ourselves. Coffee that was left in Jar mouldy, gardens not weeded. Attacked by mosquitos inside house under lounge & in old air-conditioning system that is still on wall.
Curtain rod stuck together by sticky tape.
eally disappointing for what we had to pay. I dont put a 0 star for anyone but this was purely misleading
Old worn out property and furniture was completely embarrassed to invite others around
If I could put more photos i would

AnThe kitchen is huge, fully equipped for everything. The rooms were decent size and beds specially the main room was the most comfy bed in a long time! Only thing I would suggest is.. we tried to have a BBQ and the gas ran out half way through and the apply TV remote was broken with glass coming out does need replacing.. other than that the host were amazing and friendly willing to accommodate a later check out which helped with the children.
Thankyou very much David and Hilary

it exceeded expectations, it suited every ones needs, & felt like home away from home, ..little details like ice already made & cling wrap & tin foil & even condiments like tomatoe sauce was well appreciated, the toaster could hold 6 pieces of bread, & the brevil maker was Awsome, you could pretty much turn up with food to cook ur self & all the facilities are there already, the owners David & Hilary thought of everything, & the gas bbq wow!!! … amazing to cook on, iv been a chef for 23 yrs & I loved cooking on the bbq & also had fun in the well equiped kitchen, I spent most of my time in the out side man cave while my kids enjoyed Netflix & Stan, the place catered to everyone’s needs & the best thing is, everyone has there own personal space & fun.
was lovely to sit & eat out side at the back entertainment area.. nice cosy couch out side with bbq, we all felt spoilt& had an amazing Christmas, that we will have forever in our memories
every thing was great, wish I stayed longer 😁
