About this apartment rental
Large 3 bedroom Reykjavik apartment in the heart of the city for family holidays or romantic get away. Downtown Reykjavik and the harbor area are just outside the door. From the apartment it is a one minute walk to main shopping, cafe, restaurant, gallery street and 3 minute walk to the oceanfront, but located on a quiet street surrounded by historic Icelandic homes but just steps from the action. Plenty of space for a family to spread out and eat in. Well located so that you can walk out for a pizza or a romantic dinner near by, or a stroll along the ocean. The apartment has 3 bedrooms that can sleep 7 people in beds and we can provide a floor mattress for additional travelers. There are 2 couches that children can easily sleep on too. We offer a home like environment which appeals to travelers who do not like cold hotel environments. This is our family home when we are in Reykjavik and offer it to our guests when we are away for most of the year. A playground around the corner for the kids. The kitchen is equipped for cooking full meals. There is a full dining and kitchen table for meals. We have a parking spot in front of the apartment. The apt had everything we needed for a family stay. It was in a great location and had a dedicated parking spot which was so helpful since we rented a car. There’s a LOT of construction going on in town and they started very early. Before 8. Also the hot water smelled very strongly of sulpher so quick or cold showers were preferred.

We traveled with our family and their friends. So enjoyed the prime location for exploring the city and the day trips beyond. It is walking distance to shopping, markets, and all the night life activities. The apartment was great for all 6 of us. The kitchen was well stocked and we usually cooked breakfast and dinners there. Loved the local suggestions by owners.

Our group included two adults and two teen boys. They loved being able to walk everywhere from the apartment, blocks away from the Bonus supermarket, stores, restaurants, cafes, fish and chips shops, museums. So convenient. The home is exceptionally clean, parking out front was easy and the owner was super responsive throughout our rental process. Terrific experience. Thank you Brian!

The owner was very responsive and booking was easy. The apartment was a little hard to find due to the one way streets in central Reykjavik but once you knew the route it was fine. Very centrally located - ideal for walking to all the main sights, but close to the ring road if you have a car and can go further afield. The apartment itself has two small double rooms and a more spacious twin room (with pull out beds for extra children). It has everything you need (except a veg peeler!), the owner had even provided some adapters for UK plugs and a hair dryer, but the decor is quite tired, especially the bathroom (bath, shower, toilet all together so a bit of a queue for six guests in the morning!!) and the shared entrance lobby. Good value compared to many places in similar location. Bakery nearby for essentials, supermarket about 15 mins walk along the next street up (but has a car park so handy if you are self catering and need a bigger shop).

This apartment had all the necessities. It was a little less flashy than the photos would suggest, but that is usually the case. The beds were pretty comfortable, although one of them could use a new mattress. The location is excellent, although it just got a little noisy on Friday and Saturday nights--but nothing some earplugs couldn't remedy. All in all, great for the price!

We had a lovely week in Reykjavik. This flat is within walking distance of everything in the city, and right around the corner from an airport shuttle stop (get off at city stop #6). Perfect for those attending conferences at Harpa, or who just want to kick around the city.
Brian was super responsive. His place is highly recommended.

Our family of 4 adults and 3 kids stayed here for 3 nights from April 17-20th. It was super close to bus stop 7 but also close to 6 and 5 near the concert hall. We were within walking distance to many shops and restaurants and about a 10 min walk if that to a Bonus grocery store where we stopped for supplies. Living room and kitchen area were very spacious! We anticipated having to have 1-2 of our kids on the couch to sleep but they set up an extra cot for us in one of the bedrooms so this was perfect for us. Wish we had a washer/dryer in the apartment but knew we wouldn't going into it. Tough to wash our things in the sink and lay them on the radiators (we had been traveling for 2 weeks prior so needed to wash things as we went; did not have time to take them to a laundry facility.) The radiator in the bathroom did not work. Otherwise, kitchen had all necessary things to cook/eat. Place was very clean and they supplied plenty of towels for us. Great place and would highly recommend!

Loved staying at this apartment in Reyjavik! Close to everything. Lots of light in the apartment with all the windows. Bedrooms were comfortable and the living room dining room spacious for the 6 of us. The kitchen was well equipped and easy to make meals in. The bathroom with tub and shower was also great. My only comment was that the linoleum in the kitchen is abit worn out and needing repair. We will return!

We just got back from Iceland last night and had an experience of a lifetime! We are 2 best friends turning 50 traveling with our teenage daughters. Our most important criteria in choosing where to stay was location, convenience, safety, enough room so we weren't on top of each other, and of course at a good price. This apartment exceeded all of that!
Location: The location was beyond perfect (as every other review describes) bus stop 7 is a stones throw from the front door and bus stop 6 is a block away. If you are taking tours, this is where you want to be. The main shopping street is 1 very short block further and all of Reykjavik is at your disposal. The Bonus market is about 6 blocks away and easily walkable even when your arms are loaded with groceries. If location is important. This is the location you want to be in.
Convenience: Having a full kitchen made it possible to save a ton of money and also allow us to bring lunch and snacks on our tours. We made pots of coffee and breakfast every morning, packed a lunch every day, and cooked 3 out of 6 of our dinners. Food out IS expensive but we found grocery items to be very similarly priced as they would be in NY (granted not the cheapest state). We bought food for 4 for 6 days including salmon for dinner, cold cuts, breakfast foods, yogurts, soups, milk, beverages etc for about $90 US.
Safety: The doors locked well, the keys worked well, we never saw or even heard the other people in the building, the lights worked. The stairs were a bit steep but we had no trouble whatsoever with them (even with luggage).
Room to spread out: The beds were comfortable, there was plenty of shelving for our clothes, the large sofa allowed all of us to sit comfortably. Brian was very responsive throughout the whole process, there were items left behind from others that made it that much easier such as spices, oatmeal, pasta (still sealed).
Improvements: The handle on the oven broke off on our last night, the coffee maker has to be very carefully positioned or when the coffee drips it will drip all over the counter, it should really be replaced. It also didn't keep coffee hot. The microwave was incredibly loud. When reheating my coffee I woke the whole house, every morning. The light in the bath flickered a bit. One photo was hung so low that the person lying in that bed kept bumping it. By far the excellent outweighs the needs improvement and we would definitely stay again! Thank you so much Brian!

It was a great location in the center of everything. Everything is within walking distance. Parking spot is a plus, although we did have 2 cars, so one of the car had to find parking on the street. Apartment was very clean. Brian was very helpful, he contacted me before we left the state with the driving condition and weather since we had other plan to the south side before arriving to the apartment.

90% beyond excellent 10% could use improvement (if I could give 4.5 stars I would)

Fantastic location, wonderful host
This apartment is in the middle of everything. Easy walking distance to all the downtown sights and close enough to the major arteries in and out of the city. Once we mastered the one-way streets in the area, it was a breeze to move about from this base.
The building itself is warm and quiet. The apartment has everything you need to be comfortable.
The host, Brian, is extremely helpful and accomodating. He responded immediately to all inquiries and provided useful information. We would happily stay here again.

Great location!
This apartment is very well located- - 2 blocks from the main pedestrian zone with shops, restaurants, and bars; 2 blocks the other way to the shoreline where there’s a nice walkway. Brian was extremely responsive; the hallway lights were out the first night and he had them up again the next day. The apartment is very quiet and has everything you need for your stay. We really enjoyed our visit!

Cozy and great location!
We had a group staying in Reykjavík before we set off to explore the countryside and this apartment was a great jumping off point. Location was perfect for walking to everything- the one way streets making finding it by car kind of annoying. But aside from that, no complaints about the apartment itself. Everything was very clean, and we were given 2 towels a piece as well as use of anything left in the apartment from previous stays; We left a few things behind as well. Brian was beyond helpful with any and all questions I had leading up to and once checked in with tricks and tips for restaurants etc.

Great location center of everything
This was in a great location, Parking space in town is a plus. Bakery around the corner down by the water was awesome, place could use a little updating (bathroom) or cleaning and maintenance. Overall good value and a good spot as a base camp. Great to have a kitchen.

Would definitely recommend

Excellent position near to shops and bus stops for being picked up for tours. Good sized flat .
Apartment was warm, plenty of towels and cutlery. Stairway let it down , we assumed the lights were not repairable , otherwise would have been working. The Art work in twin bed is not to everybody's taste and we respected owners wishes to not touch art , but best for visitors if it was covered or moved to a safe place. But on the whole very good place to stay.
Very informative information from owner before you go.

Great Location!
We had a wonderful time in Iceland! The apartment was in a great location and was easily walkable to shops, sights (Harpa, Hallgrimskirkja Church) and grocery stores. We were traveling as a family of four (2 adults, 2 children) and a grandparent so it was nice for us to have our own rooms. The apartment was neat, tidy and clean. The kitchen was an asset to make breakfast and dinner. Reykjavik was our base and because we rented a car it was nice to have a free parking spot. Would definitely stay here again in the future!
4.7
Best location to enjoy Reykjavík
Excellent location adjacent to the Danish Embassy. Just two blocks from the boutique shops and restaurants of Laugavegur. One block further to grocery shopping at Bónus. The other direction, just two blocks from the Harpa concert hall and shore walk with the famous Sun Voyager and other sculptures. We enjoyed strolling to Hallgrimskirka, feeding the ducks at City Hall and sampling Icelandic hotdogs at the famous Bæjarins Beztu Pylsur. We rented a car and explored the beauty of the Golden Circle sites, Westman Island and the Blue Lagoon spa during the rest of our weeklong stay. The property is tidy and quiet, and the owners are very responsive to communications.

Location. Location. Location.
When you visit a city for the first time, it's so hard to know where you want to be. Take it from me, you want to be here. This functional, comfortable, clean apartment is just steps from the main shopping street and just a few blocks from the center of town. Our three teenage girls were able to be independent with this as a home base. Having a parking place was a wonderful bonus. And Brian was super responsive and so accommodating about all the arrangements. Highly recommend.
4.7
Fantastic location, fantastic flat and compared with Reykjavik prices, reasonable! Really pleased with our stay here. It's the third time I have booked through holiday rentals and the experience was a positive one again.
The apartment was as described (would have been nice to have a double bed made up in the master bedroom), the owner communicated well, it was clean, tidy and well equipped. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the property to friends and family and especially recommend self catering if you are staying for more than a long weekend. After our ten hour trips all we wanted was a bowl of pasta and to collapse!
We used GTI for our tours (also highly recommended) and were lucky enough to see the Northern Lights. The city itself is tiny, the size of Warwick perhaps, and the apartment is perfectly located to dip in and out of nightlife as you wish and remains quiet during the evenings. The bulk of the restaurants are a 10 min walk away.
Iceland itself offers lots of exciting adventures and would like to go back. We did the South Tour, Golden Circle with snowmobiling on the glacier (stunning and great fun!), Northern Lights and Whale Watching. We did them with the tour company in 6 seaters however, you cold hire a car but I wouldn't have got half as much out of it. However, when people tell you it is expensive, it really and truly is. Bar meal of a veggie and a meat Quesidilla and four beers was approaching £50. Therefore for a week, self catering and the freedom of having a whole flat rather than just a hotel room was a great option and one which is prefer when on any city break.

My family and I just spend a wonderful week in the apartment in Iceland.
The apartment was just perfect with the best location. Everything was to our complete satisfaction and it felt just like a home away from home.
We just loved Iceland a will for sure come back some day and hope to be able to rent this apartment again.

This was our first visit to Iceland and we will definitely be back. We found the entire experience so diverse and interesting.
The apartment has a lovely family feel to it. It is very spacious and full of everything necessary to make you comfortable during your stay.
Its location is excellent, just yards from the city’s main shopping street, with many cafes and restaurants nearby. You could easily spend a couple of weeks here, just soaking up the nearby sights.
We decided to hire a vehicle (the apartment has its own parking space, which was very useful) and travelled around Southern Iceland with ease.
Our host Brian handled the booking procedure and answered all our questions quickly and professionally. We had a great time – thank you.
We will certainly rebook this apartment on our return.
There is so much more to see!

Great location in the heart of Reykjavik, walking distance to restaurants and bars.
Very comfortable, clean and spacious apartment.
I would definitely recommend to friends and family and would stay again there in a future visit.

Location was perfect. In the middle of Reykjavik. All shops, restaurant etc. were near. Apartment was nice, clean and quiet. Well equipped. Only thing we missed was balcony because weather was so nice hole week...
4.7
We rented this apartment in the Spring of 2011. We had rented another property outside Reykjavik from the same owner two years previously and so we knew how high the standard would be.
The Reykjavik flat is right in the heart of the 101 district and within very easy walking distance of pretty much everything this remarkable but compact city has to offer. Classy shops, funky bars, good quality foodstores and coffee shops are all on the doorstep and the harbour just a short stroll away. The apartment itself was perfect for us; clean and bright and very tastefully and unpretentiously furnished. Everything was in good working order and the overall impression was of being instantly at home, unlike some of the more sterile rental properties that are out there.
I communicated with Brian by email in the days leading up to our trip and he was, as always, courteous and endlessly helpful.
We had a great time and I'd recommend this apartment without hesitation. I wish it was mine!
