About this cottage rental
Heydons House is a lovingly maintained, high quality cottage to rent in an enviable location in the heart of Sidmouth.
The beauty of Heyons House is that it is set in a peaceful area yet within a 3 minute level walk of the sea front and town centre. It is tucked away at the end of a quiet no-through road, yet everything you could possibly need is within walking distance. Importantly it offers its own parking space by way of an integral garage.
Very comfortably furnished throughout, the accommodation is spacious and versatile. There are 3 main bedrooms but also a 4th room off the master bedroom, that is in essence a dressing room but has a single bed (with further pull out) so can be used as a 4th single or twin bedroom.
The layout of the cottage will also suit couples who just like a little more space and quality.
A real feature of the cottage is the large, country style kitchen. The immaculate kitchen that was newly refurbished in Feb 2022 also has a traditional oven and hob. (An aga is ornamental only).
From the kitchen, patio doors lead to the private and sunny courtyard.
We accept stays of 3 nights or more - please enquire further for prices.
Booking enquiries: NOTE: For booking enquiries please either email me or text / WhatsApp me on my mobile 07951 994 397. (Text / WhatsApp only - I will call you back if required). Do contact me as there may be opportunities for last minute / long stay discounts etc.

Lovely, well-equipped cottage, located in the beautiful seaside town, Sidmouth.
Just a three-minute walk to the beach - brilliant for an early morning or end-of-the-day swim.
The town centre (2 minutes walk) also has lots to offer.
We parked easily on nearby steeets, for free everyday.
I look forward to staying here again.

The cottage was pretty, clean and well maintained. It was located close to the beach and town centre. The neighbours were friendly and helpful. The garden can do with some flowers. We enjoyed our stay in Sidmouth.

Lovely little cottage close to all amenities.
Lovely little gifts waiting on arrival.
Manager on hand if needed.
One little negative, pillows were very flat. That maybe a personal preference.
I would book again.

A lovely cottage. Very clean, spacious with a ‘good’ vibe’. Everything we required, was there.
In a beautiful quiet area, but very close to everything we wanted.
A few back and forths to reverse our small car into the garage, but a lot easier to drive out.

Cottage
In such a good position, close to beach and shops.
Only downside was the parking, the car needs to be small to fit in the garage.
The garden needs some work as nowhere to relaxe outside which is a pity as it was a sun trap and out of the wind.

Great location
A delightful property in a peaceful location surrounded by other pretty cottages, yet so close to the shops and seafront . Parking a real bonus our medium size car had no problem parking in the garage just needed careful manoeuvring. The double bed was very comfortable and there was a very high standard of cleanliness throughout .

Lovely house in a great location
We were on holiday with my son his wife and their 3 kids. We couldn't fault the accommodation , it certainly met all our needs.
The property was Spotlessly clean. Well equipped kitchen, 3 loos ,2 bathrooms, very good wifi . Nice courtyard garden.
Great location for the town and the beach and good service from Jon in terms of checking in help etc.
I would certainly stay here again if we return to Sidmouth

Brilliant location lovely seaside town!
Very well placed property -- only drawback is parking but not difficult to remedy with a bit of thought! We had a few glitches when we arrived as the kitchen had been re done and the heating had either been turned off or reset inncorrectly also no internet -- a quick call to the property manager -- who went above and beyond -- and all was sorted ! The house itself is cosy and lovely well furnished and ideal for thetown and beach. We had another glitch the following day with the dishwasher but again everything poss was done to help unfortunately without success-- This sounds like a moan but I highly recommend this cottage -- the reason I mention the problems is to highlight the fact that we had excellent service and help! -- I would definately book again as we had a lovely time!

Heydon’s House
Just arrived back home and want to be back there; the property is just Great and in a perfect location; 2 minute walk and your directly into the high street.
Jon and Nicole are extremely friendly and make sure to reach out to you to see if everything is ok or anything is required.

We spent a wonderful week at Heydons House and even though it was near the end of September the weather was glorious. The Cottage is in a great location with just a v short stroll into town or the beach. Jon was very helpful with the booking and Nicole made sure that all our requirements were met before we arrived. Our car was actually too large to get into the garage but there was always parking on the nearby streets so not a problem at all. Thank you for letting us stay in your lovely house.

Sidmouth holiday
There were four of us staying in Heydons House, and we were all really pleased. The house is really lovely, and is in an excellent position not far from the beach or the town.
Only problem for us was that we couldnt get our car into the garage provided.

Lovely location for a break.
The cottage was clean and comfortable with a well-equipped kitchen. As per the description, parking is very tight in the garage - we couldn’t manage it, but there’s free and cheap parking nearby. There’s so much to do locally - beach, walks, water sports, tennis and lots more.

Very homely cosy cottage
We enjoyed our stay - we had to visit Sidmouth for sad circumstances but the cottage was a blessing and very comfortable.

What a lovely place to spend Christmas!
Stayed for a week over Christmas. Great location in a beautiful part of the UK. Lucky with the weather and did some lovely walks around the coast, which is stunning. Property had most things we could wish for - almost all the white goods were either brand new or hardly used, which made our stay really comfortable. Enjoyed the challenge of the Aga and surprised ourselves by cooking a creditable xmas lunch! Only suggestions would be some new, larger towels and a set of saucepans with matching lids, but we can see the property is constantly being improved and this did not detract from our overall enjoyment. We were able to park outside the International School all week so the tight access to the garage did not bother us. A delightful week in a very sweet little property, thanks to Jon for all the efforts made to ensure our comfort.

Staying in Heydons House
We had a lovely four nights in Heydons House. It was warm, comfortable, with everything we needed and in a wonderful position. Quiet and secluded and within walking distance of eveything we wanted to see in Sidmouth. We didn't use the car at all.

Lovely cottage in Sidmouth
We had a lovely weeks stay at Heydon House in Sidmouth. The location of the coattage is ideal for visiting the shops or the beach. The bedrooms are very pretty and spacious. 3 bathrooms are very handy with a family. Lovely kitchen well stocked with everything you need. Lounge needs updating it is rather drab and old fashioned and there is not enough seating for a family. The leather sofa is particularly uncomfortable. The outdoor area is a good size but needs some work to make it a prettier area for sitting and eating. The parking is an issue. The garage is very small and the turning space to get into it is very tight. No chance of putting a family size car in it. If you park near the international school you have notes put on your windscreen!

Heydons House self - catering , Sidmouth, Devon
An excellent location situated in a quiet lane, within easy walking distance of the town. Parking the car in the garage was challenging, if you have anything much larger than a fiesta you will have a problem but there is parking available between the hours of 5 30 pm - 8 30 am further along the lane.
We were very comfortable here. The upstairs is lovely but downstairs needed some attention. Beware the Arga if you have never used one before. We couldn't find any instructions so it was an issue. It does keep downstairs quiet warm though !!
Overall a nice place to stay but needs a bit of attention and TLC but we'd probably return for another short break at some stage.

Lovely Cottage, full of character, great location
We had a lovely stay at this very comfortable, character cottage. Great location just a couple of minutes of walk to the town centre and sea front.
Lovely little sunny courtyard. We really enjoyed reading a book / newspaper in the sun with a cup of tea!
Great communication with the owner Jon and his housekeeper Laura when we needed her.
We loved Sidmouth and would definitely return to the cottage.
(Just one thing, I am not sure the photos on this website actually do the cottage justice. It's even nicer in the flesh!)

A relaxing stay in beautiful Sidmouth
Great Location though Parking difficult as not able to swing a large car into small Garage.Level 3 minute walk to Town Centre shops. Cottage nice and quirky but disappointed with no simple provions - no Polyroll(2sheets),no w/up liquid etc

Great stay in quirky Sidmouth house
Had a lovely long weekend in Sidmouth, staying at Heydons House. Great location. Plenty of space for the four of us, with two bathrooms and three loos! Brilliant! Really good location and close to the town centre and some lovely bars and cafes. Also lovely and clean AND warm 😊. Thanks.

Heydons House very central for sea and shops and very well equipped.
We enjoyed our stay very much but would just mention one or two points. Unless you have a small car the garage can be a problem as there is not much room for manoeuvrability to get in so after our first evening we parked in nearby Seafield Road which was much easier...
A few extra instructions for the Aga would be helpful if you have not used one before.
Also as we were there in November we had dark evenings and the lighting in the sitting room is very poor. Maybe a standard lamp would be a good idea. Also a mirror please in the twin bedroom.
Everything else was absolutely fine and we would certainly rent Heydons House again.
