We had a fantastic time, I can't recommend this enough, had a little issue with the pool umbrellas which were sorted straight away, its a beautiful quiet location with a fantastic view, nice and cool at night with the air con.
A car is essential due to its location..
Would be happy to rent again

Beautiful fully equipped Villa in a peaceful setting with outstanding views. David the owner was quick to clarify any questions before the holiday and also some good tips for local restaurants which we made good use of. The service throughout our stay was excellent too. Thankyou for letting us stay in your wonderful Villa.

Overall a beautiful property and location. We had a fabulous time staying at this property. The views are spectacular, the house is very spacious and also within walking distance to the local town. I would note that the road to the house is a bit rough and we ended up blowing out a tire on it. Additionally the A/C in the bedrooms did not work for us during our stay which was disappointing given the heat wave. However David was a very responsive host and helped with any issues or questions we had and I would definitely stay here again.

We had a great time at the Villa of Mr. O’Brien! He was a very caring host and helped us with every problem we came across, even with our car-rental!
The Villa was well equipped, although the interior was a little bit older but, that did not harm our experience in any way!
It rather had a certain way of charme in the eyes of me and my friends! The view was ridiculously beautiful from the terrace watching sunsets or the pool watching down on the street of Faro!
For coming visitors I advise to either have a rented car to reach the place and to find the villa on GoogleMaps! Taxi drivers had a little bit of a problem to find the place with no specific adress as the last 50 m of the road are a little bumpy.
But except that in the name of my friends and me, I highly recommend the villa!

Great Villa and Location
The villa is in a beautiful, quiet, hillside location with fantastic views all around. At the same time Santa Barbara de Nexe is on the doorstep and the A22 motorway is within easy reach for access to the rest of the Algarve.
The pool is excellent, with plenty of room to swim and has wide steps and generous shallow areas ideal for relaxing.
We enjoyed BBQs and table tennis in evenings and took in the views over Faro to the sea and the sky full of stars.
There's ample space for 6-8 people, both inside and out, but the house did not feel too large for the four of us because the living spaces are well proportioned and laid out.
David was very helpful and accommodating throughout and we are all delighted that we stuck to our guns to visit Portugal again in spite of Covid-19 and the UK government's clumsy, flawed international travel policy.

Lovely private and peaceful villa with great views
This villa is great if you want a peaceful haven away from it all with lovely views and a beautiful setting. The pool is fabulous, the interiors are spacious and the kitchen well equipped. Great bbq too! I would recommend hiring a car though to get around to all the towns and attractions near by, none of which are far but having a car makes it easier to get there. All in all a great choice for a family holiday!

Superb villa in lovely quiet location.
Clean, well presented villa in a lovely quiet location with stunning views. Pool (heated) is superb and the gardens surrounding the property give complete privacy. Owner was very responsive to a small question at the start of the holiday. Will definitely be back!

Beautiful Hacienda with fabulous pool!
We had a fantastic stay in this lovely property, the kids were in the pool all day. It’s incredibly quiet and private yet within walking distance of Santa Barbara da Nexe and it’s great restaurants.
The air conditioning in the bedrooms was greatly appreciated. The view out across Faro and the coast are breathtaking, equally at night when the distant towns are lit. Owners very friendly and accommodating.

Splendide villa avec vues époustouflantes
Nous avons profité de cette splendide villa super équipée avec piscine. A recommander chaudement. Un seul petit bémol : pas de douche près de la piscine.

Beautiful villa
The villa is very well kept and beautifully furnished with the most amazing pool and lovely gardens. It is situated quite high up and the final approach road is quite narrow but the views over Faro and the coast are stunning. Parking is easy and it is all very quiet. We were there in February in the worst weather the Algarve has seen in years, so were very grateful for the lovely wood stoves and large supply of logs. In good weather it must be lovely. David was very helpful before we left and the management company soon sorted out a problem with the TV. The alarm system can be a bit tricky. We found that you needed to press the keys firmly.

A wonderful villa for a relaxing holiday
Our family of 5 stayed in this wonderful villa for 10 days. The house is great and well maintained, the pool was heated and warm and overall it was a fantastic holiday.
The villa is in an outstanding location - it feels very remote and private however it is just a short distance to the local village where you will find a couple of supermarkets, local bars and good restaurants. La Piazza is definitely worth a visit as is Restaurant A Canga and Alagaos. Julie's bar is a great spot for a G&T!
We did have a couple of small issues and the maintenance team could not have been more responsive - even on a Sunday.
If you are on the hunt for a thoroughly relaxing holiday in a traditional Portuguese village this villa should be on your short-list.

Spacious family accommodation with lovely views
My family of 5 stayed over Christmas 2016. Our first surprise was the amount of space both inside and out. The bedroom upstairs was virtually a private suite with its own sundeck. Other highlights were the curved walls, wood burning stove, table tennis table and dish washer but the view was the best. The track up is a bit rough (mind your tyres) but we had pre-dawn walks in the lanes admiring the botany. Watch out for those striped pitcher plants flowering straight out of the ground.

Superb summer holliday
We stayed here with our two boys (14 & 16) for, unfortunately, just one week in July 2016. The villa is spacious and equipped with everything you'll need. The pool is just fabulous. It was cleaned twice during our visit and the water was both sparkling and warm. After spending an 'exhausting' hour or so on one of the several sun terraces, drinking cold beer or good value Portugese wine, we really needed a dip in the pool to cool off!
The access road is a somewhat 'unmade' but it didn't trouble our little hire car - just need to take it easy and avoid the big rocks & dips.
We did walk into Santa Barbara de Nexe on one of the evenings. It's probably only about a mile or so but there aren't any pavements, Portugese drivers clearly don't form a big proportion of the Institute of Advanced Motorists (!) and although it's downhill most of the way, that does mean it's uphill most of the way back....and it was around 28 degrees....on a full stomach. We drove the next time :)
David is probably the most helpful, reliable and communicative owner you could ever hope to deal with. He answered any queries promptly and reliably. The whole experience was thoroughly enjoyable and we have no hesitation in recommending this villa to anyone looking for a peaceful, relaxing break. If you want busy night-life, probably best look elsewhere!
The photo's here really don't do it justice - they look good but in reality it is even better. Much better.

Peace perfect peace!
An absolutely fantastic villa. Our third visit. Villa is outstanding and is positioned perfectly, not to far from Faro, with spectacular views. The private heated pool is outstanding with beautiful surroundings. We chose to do an extremely large shopping in Loule which is a 10-15 minute drive from the villa. We chose to remain at the villa for the entire week just chilling out, reading, swimming, eating and drinking in absolute luxury! Will definitely return next year. The villa is extremely spacious and designed to allow privacy to visitors, if required, with all ensuite bathrooms and separate sunbathing terraces. The owners are also extremely helpful and are quick to reply to any queries you may have.

Comfortable villa with amazing views
Well maintained property with ideal internal layout for two adults and two older children. Pool and gardens well presented with plenty of options for sunbathing or shade. Handy local supermarket in village together with bakery and restaurants. Plenty of other options nearby with use of a car. David the owner was very helpful with any queries we had. Would recommend this location for a relaxing family holiday!

Brilliant getaway for relaxation
Booked at the last minute David was so helpful. When we arrived the villa was spotless, the pictures on the web looked good but in reality it was fantastic.. It's very big for four.!
The pool is fantastic and very clean. The air con is needed in July and the WiFi kept the teenager happy.
The villa has everything you need except ...! Large mugs for northern people, who like big "brews" in the am !!
The beach near Faro airport is lovely and has free parking.
The village has a lovely Italian restaurant which also does takeaways.
This villa was lovely and I would definitely stay here again.
Review from two adults two kids age sixteen and eight.

Fabulous villa in a peaceful location
Beautiful, well equipped villa with everything you could possibly need. Spotlessly clean. Spacious. Such a peaceful location. If you're looking for things to do in walking distance this isn't for you. If you're looking for relaxation and privacy, you won't find anywhere better. The outside area and pool are fantastic. We had the pool heated which is a must for very small children. The owner couldn't have been more helpful and provided lots of information. Definitely recommended - we'd go back tomorrow if we could!

Chill Out
Villa was just like the photos in a picturesque setting, very peaceful. Everything you need is supplied right down to the good selection of books in the compact library in the garage. All rooms large with ensuites and spotless with plenty of linen and towels. The pool was just perfect after sunbathing, got cleaned three times whilst we were there. Plenty of seating areas inside and out. There is a barbeque for nights when not dining out plus fully fitted kitchen. There are several nice restaurants in the village plus a small supermarket which sells every day items. There are a couple of larger ones within 20mins drive. You are not too far from the larger towns like Albufeira and Vilamoura either. Would recommend the latter, the marina is lovely to wander around, we went on a dolphin watching trip. This was our first trip to the Algarve and this was a perfect choice. It was easy to contact David with any questions, always answered any queries asap. Would have no hesitation recommending this villa, would love to go back, hopefully one day :)
