About this house rental
Come fall in love with all Cape Charles has to offer. Relax in this coastal living family home a short walk to Cape Charles beach or the shops on Mason Avenue. Enjoy the wraparound porch with plenty of seating. Harvest your own rosemary or mint or simply enjoy the aroma on the front porch.
Walk in the front door and watch TV in the family room with plenty of comfortable seating. Or walk thru the brand new kitchen with purified water at the sink. Grab a snack to eat at the eat-in area or more formal dining area with shiplap wall. Behind the kitchen is a large laundry room with a full washer and dryer, and a full bathroom. Continue to the backyard for outdoor seating near the grill. Enjoy the corn hold/sombo games for backyard fun. Coming back from the beach? Rinse off in the outdoor shower out back before going back in to relax. Beautiful hardwood floors throughout.

Coastal Charmer was the perfect house for our 4 night stay in Cape Charles. The large kitchen was perfect for my wife and daughter to spend time together preparing the fantastic meals that we had. The house had everything that we needed and is a very short walk to the waterfront and downtown area.

We stayed here for Thanksgiving week to spend with my daughter who lives in Cape, Charles and her family. We love that you can walk if you’re where you wanna go, whether you looking for a good coffee something nice to eat or just taking in the sides of the beautiful town.Coastal Charmer, was everything we hoped for during our stay.It is well appointed and so comfortable. It feels like a home away from home away from home.

My family and I stayed in this cottage for a wedding weekend. We had a wonderful time! The house was the perfect size for our family with room to spare. We loved sitting on the front porch to drink coffee in the morning and relax after staying up late for wedding activities. On Sunday we walked to breakfast and had fun shopping. The location was so convenient. We will definitely stay here again for another wedding next year.

The house was overall good! Our first day was met with upstairs AC that wasn’t working, so that it took about 4 hours to repair. There was quite a mess from all the drilling. The upstairs tub didn’t drain, so we used the downstairs shower during our stay. We enjoyed the size of the kitchen and dining room, and the location of the house was nice.

We’ve been coming to Cape Charles for about 6 years now, and this was our least favorite property that we’ve stayed in. The location is great and the house is generally nice (the kitchen is especially great). The four bedrooms were nice for our family of 5. But we had multiple issues that were quite inconvenient, especially considering the cost of stay. The upstairs bathroom tub drain was clogged (property mgmt resolved this with Drano when we notified them). The downstairs bathroom shower was infested with small flying bugs and the shower was completely unusable. Property mgmt came and treated with bug spray, which didn’t resolve the problem but left horrible toxic fumes for the remainder of the week. So the downstairs bathroom was basically unusable. There were also ants throughout the kitchen and laundry area when we arrived. While the house has AC, two of the upstairs bedrooms do not have any sort of air flow and it was very warm at night. Even an oscillating fan would be a huge improvement. We had a couple other minor inconveniences that I won’t bother listing, but we were disappointed and I don’t think we’ll return to this property in the future.

3 generations living in the same home. This is our second time staying in Coastal Charmer. We love this home. bedrooms are a good size and configuration for us. LOVE the outside shower and large eat-in kitchen. So close to the beach and the shops. booking for next year ASAP!

The beach was perfect for family fun. We found the shops to be inviting. Chesapeake Properties was most helpful with questions and one minor tech blip.We definitely will return. Had a few minor items that required maintenance man's assistance, but were resolved within the first hour we were there. Really appreciated how close we were to the beach. And loved the outdoor shower. Don't know why any beach house would not have one. Extremely close to all the shops and restaurants. Just 2 blocks from the main street.

Hallmark Moments
Our family stayed at this property for Thanksgiving for the last two years. We enjoyed preparing meals in the spacious kitchen, playing board games, walking to the beach for spectacular sunsets and spending quality family time by the outdoor fire pit. Love the location, Cape Charles holiday traditions and the homes lovely decor.

Loved the Walk to the Beach! Cost to rent for a day on the high side during Pandemic could be lower. Family time well spent over the weekend. Highly recommend for family reunion and other opportunities. Burner: Cost included for customer to pay for cleaning although we cleaned the house before leaving $200 not fair.

The only downside is that most of the mattresses were terribly uncomfortable and springy, especially the queen bedroom at the top of the steps which is coated in some kind of plastic covering. I (a married adult) ended up sleeping on the bottom of one of the bunk beds with my kids. The house could benefit from an actual vacuum cleaner (a dust buster on a stick is provided), a larger trash can in the kitchen and an extra garbage can outside as it was already full from the previous renters when we checked for our vacation (trash is picked up on Tuesdays).

The home was very nice, clean and in a great location--just a two block walk to the beach. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, pans etc. with plenty of seating. Everything seemed well maintained. We didn't use the backyard but it was a great set up with a table, fire pit, chairs etc. The front porch was so inviting and a great place to sit and enjoy the weather. The heat/AC worked well so the house was very comfortable (the beds were not, however. The protective mattress covering was noisy/crinkly.) One frustration was that the wagon that was supposed to be provided was broken. I contacted the management company and was told there were none available. I feel like they should have done more to find one as it was specifically cited as provided to make the walk to the beach easier. I am 8 months pregnant and ended up having to drive b/c I couldn't carry all of the beach gear. So much was closed during our stay, I wish I had realized that in the spring Mon-Wed are slow days without many entertainment/restaurant choices. It seemed like things would open up beginning Thursday. All in all it was a nice stay and I would recommend this property to anyone heading to Cape Charles.

Girls weekend away
It was a perfect weekend away for a college girls’ reunion! It was located perfectly from the town and beach that we were able to walk everywhere. There is plenty to do with shopping, eating and relaxing.

Overall, we had a really great time here. The house appeared clean, has some really nice finishes, and had everything we needed. The location is great, close to everything (we had a golf cart). We had plenty of towels to get through the week. The rental company was very fast and responsive when we had trouble with the wifi password. The downsides we experienced; it was very rainy the day we arrived and there was a strong odor inside the house for the first couple of days. The neighbor is part of a cat rescue group, so there were cats all over the place outside (that wasn't a huge problem for us because our kids loved watching them). The back yard was nice, however it could have used a little tlc (grass was a little long, leaves on furniture, weeds growing).
