It was a cozy and sweet place. It’s stay there again in a heartbeat.

I have been coming to Mendocino almost annually over the last 30+ years. This was my first time staying at this property and will say it will be one of the more memorable stays. The cabin was quaint and charming. Small, but absolutely perfect for two. Nestled in the redwoods on a quiet street. Deer, racoons, foxes, chipmunks and squirrels visited the property often. The property was clean, organized and accommodating. The hot tub was very clean and well kept. We enjoyed sitting in the hottub in the evening watching the mist drift through the trees overhead. It was so quiet and still! The interior of the cabin could use a few furniture updates. The kitchen amenities were eclectic, but we found everything we needed. We had very minor issues and were able to address them with one of the very friendly property managers. The location was very convenient, only three minutes from the Mendocino Village. Overall I would say this is definitely a place to consider if you are looking in Mendocino.

Its not a 2 bedroom. There is one bed and then a futon mattress in the loft above as others have mentioned so I am unsure why is says 2 bedroom in the description. Its a studio . Maybe that is a setting with in the description choices that is beyond the property owners control? So can it sleep 4? Maybe. Not 4 adults. And honestly the loft railing didn't feel super safe if you had some rambunctious kids. This is a cute little spot in a nice neighborhood. If you are just looking for a place to sleep that feels safe for you and the pups its a great spot Yard is secure and area is clean. Property manager was a INN in town and they were fast and easy to deal with if we had any issues. Some of the reviews mentioned the TV but is must have gotten upgraded because its fine and we did not use the coffee pot but it looked new so I am sure that has been fixed also. But as some of the other reviewers have stated it could use some work for the price you are paying. The coffee table was pretty rickety. Felt unsafe to use it. The shower experience was tough for 2 6 ft humans. Its very small and felt a bit precarious getting in and out. The lack of towels for the 3 days with out a way to wash and try them was tough but we ended up putting them over a chair in front of the heater to help dry them in the winter months. Worked pretty good. Now for us the bed was terrible. As some reviewers have stated they loved it. We felt it was way to firm. We almost left a day early just so we could get a good night sleep. But again this is sounds like a personal preference. I was so happy to get home and get a good night sleep I almost cried. I think if the property owners did a few things to upgrade the spot and create a vacation experience they would get a lot of return renters. It has amazing bones, quiet location, and has a ton of potential. The property manager was very nice and accommodating. The bottle of wine and a nice birthday note along with a cute basket for Dog needs was a nice touch and was very thoughtful. Overall we had a great time in Mendocino. There was a lot to do that was dog friendly and I look forward to exploring the area more.

Overall ok, some things could be upgraded, and added like a toaster, silverware very very old. Tv a problem, rickety ladder to loft, best for kids to sleep in the loft.

The pros: -lovely handcrafted redwood cabin -clean and functional hot hub -enclosed private deck area -clean gas grill The cons: -this is a studio, NOT a one bedroom as it was advertised. The bed is in living area, no door. So once our children went to sleep in the loft, we had to turn off all the lights, there was no separate space to be. -The fireplace heater which is hooked up to the thermostat and the only heat source, turns on and off throughout the night and is both noisy and illuminates the entire space pretty brightly. -No warning about how hot the fireplace glass gets- and it is right in the breezeway, my daughter accidentally touched it and burnt her hand leaving blisters on all fingers. :( -lastly, felt that the kitchen could be better equipped, this is the first rental I’ve stayed at that doesn’t supply aluminum foil/plastic wrap/Tupperware etc… Overall this place was very cute but we felt misled by the ‘one bedroom’ description and had we known it was a studio we would have rented somewhere that worked better for our family.

It was just right for our needs.

This is a nice little cottage only about a mile from downtown Mendocino. it has a gas fireplace that is connected to the thermostat, so it comes on automatically. The jacuzzi is a nice feature. Very private and nice on a cold morning or evening. My only 2 complaints are that there are no instructions for the jacuzzi (it took a while to figure out how to turn it off), and that the coffee maker is old and needs replacing. It does not drip very efficiently, and the filter tends to overfill and your coffee is filled with the grounds.

The home was more then we expected. It was perfect for us with our rescue dog who is scared of every unfamiliar noise. It's quiet with no in and out traffic of cars or people. The patio with the spa is a real plus. One review said it was like a studio apartment but I disagree. It's bigger then expected and there plenty of room for a small family. The town is so close, you can walk to it. It is a beautiful home where you can spend your time relaxing if what you really want is a good staycation. I would love to return next year.

Cute place. Loved the bed and hot tub. For the high price, there were several Maintenance issues and no cleaning supplies available besides dish soap. 20 minutes drive to Fort Bragg. Hotel office (1 mile away in town) for key pickup/drop off were not there at posted times. If you want to eat before 8 pm in Mendocino you need a reservation. Overall, it was good.

We really liked the location of the cottage. Located on a quiet country road that's nice to walk the dogs and about a 15 minute walk to town. It's really a studio with a small loft with a steep ladder. One large room with kitchen, dining, living, bed. The cottage is cozy with lots of natural wood. It is a bit outdated and we noticed that we were bothered with some mildew/musty smell, probably from the carpet. It's a very wet area and I'm sure this may be common but it bothered both of us however we opened the windows and door and rant the fan and it was fine. The internet seemed ok but no smart TV and the remote really didn't function. It was nice to have the hot tub and private porch to relax. The kitchen was equipped OK but could use some updated dishes etc. We enjoyed the gas fireplace heater and the stove, microwave, and fridge were all good for cooking.

We really enjoyed the cabin, we found the bed to be amazingly comfortable and roomy, with very pleasing bedding. The hot tub is a huge benefit, one I under estimated at booking. Location is good, nearby town center.

We enjoyed our stay. The place is small-ish and cozy, with a gas-fire heater. So it felt like a real fireplace. My daughter loved that…and the hot tub!

Overall the cottage is adorable. Plenty of pots/pans/utensils/plates/etc. The water pressure is good. I don’t recall seeing in the listing that the little love seat opens into a bed. This was a nice surprise that I realized on our last day 😀. Also, the provided dog bowls and towels are a very nice touch. Our dog also seemed to enjoy his time away from Berkeley-he never once barked. 😀

We are going to bring spices for our next visit. Other than that, it's one of our favorites so far.

For the price, it could use some improved accommodations esp in the kitchen. The hot tub jets were barely “jetting”. Again, some things can be shrugged away but this studio is overpriced for the accommodations.

The three nights that we were there, I kept saying well it has a barbecue that’s a plus. Well we can have our dog with us that’s a plus. Well it has a Jacuzzi that’s a plus. I wonder why I kept trying to talk myself into it.. I kept referring back to the pictures to see what I had missed. We were happy with our stay, but wouldInvestigate another accommodation next time. I do need to add, my fiancé who is more of an outdoor mountain kind of guy walked away with a better opinion. Maybe I am just too girlie. Lol

Tiny things that do not reflect on my review, but would have been nice to know beforehand: you have to take a big step up to the tub/shower, pet friendly (which was awesome!!!) but would have like to known where is it appropriate to take the pup (since there are other houses on the property), and the boards by the sliding glass door, out to the perfectly secluded hot tub, need to be repaired. We were also not prepared for a housekeeping visit; during this pandemic, I don’t want unannounced strangers visiting. Overall, after booking a lot of rentals, this one is in my top three. Glamorous no, rustic, charming, and relaxing, YES. Thank you very much!

It has custom wood detailing, skylights, gas fireplace, gas grill, hot tub, and complimentary coffee, tea, shampoo & conditioner travel bottles. The gas fireplace doubles as the heating, which we needed in October. The tv and sound system are modern.The kitchen has nice quality pots, pans, and utensils. The refrigerator is on the smaller size, but larger than a dorm version, it was able to hold all the snack foods we packed. The bathroom has a tub with a step up. If you have balance concerns, this may be a difficult tub to enter and exit. There is a handrail for assistance. We had no need for the loft area, which has a low ceiling and ladder access, more appropriate for young children.The back yard is cozy and very private. The hot tub was wonderful. And there is a small area for your puppy to use in the backyard.The location is about 1.5 miles from downtown Mendocino on a quiet street. There are no sidewalks, but you could walk if you like. We loved our stay and would return again.

Small and cozy cottage just above Mendo village. Great location, quiet spot, friendly people. The cottage is clean, equip with most kitchen items needed. Housekeeping comes in daily to make beds, restock towels, and clean dishes which is a nice perk.

Everything was fine, just small. Small fridge, coffee maker, couch,but Ok for 2 sisters. The loft was cute but not something 2 senior citizens could navigate. Luckily, the little couch pulled out easily and was very comfortable. My sis said the big bed sagged into the middle. We wish we could have shut off the hot tub motor and enjoyed the sounds of nature, but the tub was clean and well maintained. I 've stayed in many places while visiting Mendocino. This cute, tiny cabin was just too pricey for the size. The owner might mention that the loft, steps etc. isn't suitable for seniors, who think this has 2 beds.
