Everything. The manor stands in its own ground so it is quiet. It's also close enough to the town to walk and visit the pubs. Rylstone manor is beautiful inside and out with a wealth of history. The owners carol and Mike are lovely. They showed a genuine interest in us and we had some good conversations. Mike is a most accomplished cook of wonderful tasty breakfasts. Would have liked a longer stay.
Thank you so much Carol and Mike
Everything was great. No complaints. No negative remarks.

Nothing lovely relaxing stay

Location was excellent central for the local pubs and restaurants. Breakfast was very good and catered for Gluten Free very well.
Watching the Badgers feeding in the garden at night.
Be prepared for a few hills and steps.
Room was not serviced on 2nd night, a day when we needed a quick turnaround. ☹️ I was surprised by this given the attention to detail we experienced.

Rylstone Manor Hotel is a fabulous period hotel located in tranquil gardens in old Shanklin, near the chine. It is what I would term an "old school" hotel but I don't mean that in a disparaging way - it is a peaceful and comfortable building built in 1863, and the owners have obviously gone to great lengths to preserve the fine characteristics appropriate to the age of the building. The hall, sitting room and breakfast room areas all exude old world charm, with a wide staircase leading you upstairs to a large landing and equally well appointed rooms. The owners have decided to retain their Covid-style breakfast ordering - guests submit their choices the night before from a very extensive menu, and breakfast is ready when you come down at your requested time. It all works very efficiently and the breakfast quality is really superb. How do you get those egg yolks so orange ??!!
Our room and en-suite bathroom were both very comfortable and well appointed, all in all we had a very relaxed and thoroughly enjoyable stay. We will not hesitate to book again on our next visit to the island.
Our only minor point would be that the television reception was occasionally patchy, although having said that, TV was not a huge focus for us as there are plenty of walks nearby for an evening stroll.

The accommodation was excellent and the hosts were very friendly and welcoming. We came to Isle of Wight for the festival and the location was ideal to give us some rest bite from the crowds. We would definitely consider booking again. Located in a great part of the Island.

Lovely olde worlde Manor House. Adjacent to Rylstone Gardens. Inside decor very much in keeping with the exterior. Our room was very well presented & although Owners were not servicing rooms as per CV19 requirements all our needs were well catered for. Very happy with our stay!
Nothing at all.

Beautiful property near the Chine set in a lovely park It was a delight to sit at breakfast and see red squirrels scampering up and the tree outside. The bedroom was perfect with a super large comfy bed. The peace was deafening.Breakfast made to order and went out of their way to provide requested veggie sausage.Discreet but accommodating owners. We would definitely return.
Top tip during this time of everyone unlocking the good restaurants get very booked up best to book before you arrive. Nothing to dislike at the manor.

A well kept Beautiful historic building. Located between the seafront and Old Village, yet secluded in gardens.
The owners gave excellent service and were very friendly and accommodating. An amazing breakfast too! Would definitely recommend.

Mike and Carole were wonderful hosts from the moment we arrived, and we really felt as though we were guests in their own home. Whichever room you're staying in, you adopt its name as your own, so we became known as the 'Willows' for 3 nights. This is used when placing breakfast orders, which are confirmed the evening before at reception.
The hotel itself is very well kept, and sits in a fantastic location just a short walk from Shanklin town centre and the coastal path leading down to the beach. There are a number of activities along the beach front, including crazy golf, and several cafes and restaurants. From the beach you can continue north towards Sandown, or take the coastal path south towards Ventnor.
The town centre has a variety of small shops, cafes, tea rooms and pubs, with a continuing theme throughout.
Our timing weather-wise wasn't the best being the first weekend of October, so for 2 of the 3 days we couldn't venture very far. We found the hotel room very comfortable when killing a couple of hours here and there, and the town provided enough to keep us entertained.
Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our time at Rylstone Manor, and would certainly consider visiting again in the spring or summer.
Our only issue with the room was the low water pressure to the shower.
