Wonderful stay at the 'Post and Beam Home on Meadow'! Comfortably accommodated a group of adults and a dog. Beautiful kitchen, spacious bedrooms, and perfect location near Acadia and Bar Harbor. Highly recommend!

Our stay at the "Post and Beam Home on Meadow" was wonderful! We had seven adults and a small dog all comfortably accommodated at this beautiful home.
Mornings were spent on the deck, watching deer wander by in the large open meadow beyond the yard, and listening to singing birds.
The meals we had in home were prepared in the beautiful and well appointed kitchen which had all we needed (including a propane grill on the covered entry way.
The dining room for eating and games, and the living room for lounging was perfect for us.
All of the bedrooms were comfortable (the master bedroom and bath were extremely spacious).
The house could not have been closer to everything we wanted to visit, but was set back from the road so we felt perfectly isolated and could her no passing cars.
At night, the view of the stars (and satellites) was awesome.
We definitely would recommend this home for anyone needing the space and who enjoy relaxing in the outdoors.
Thank you Melanie for your help.

This home was perfect for our stay in Bar Harbor. So close to the Acadia National Park entrance and visitors center and to the downtown Bar Harbor area. The hike had everything we needed to make the most of our stay.

The home was very comfortable for our group and Melanie was great at communicating with us. My only suggestion to Melanie would be to have a nicer kitchen setup with enough matching plates and accessories. Maybe some nicer bath towels would be great too. Thanks for the stay!

Bar Harbor traffic is crazy! Was so nice to be just outside in a call, serene setting. House worked great for us. Loved all the toys (inside and outside) and children’s books for my kids. House has tons of character! Would recommend anyone stay here.

Our family of four and dog had a wonderful week here! It was perfectly located to get around the island by car and had everything we needed at the house. The yard was huge for the kids and dog to run around. Thanks for having us!

We traveled with our adult children and the house was perfect. It is very close to Acadia and also to the shops and restaurants in Bar Harbor. It has an open floor plan, a big kitchen, and a welcoming back deck and yard, which were all perfect for relaxing between activities and cooking at the house. The owner was a good communicator. Overall, it was a great rental!

As soon as we entered the home we knew we were in for a fantastic stay! We had so much room to spread out, the kitchen and the deck is where we spent most of our time though. Sitting on the deck, looking out into the meadow was amazing. The home had all the things we needed, we even cooked dinner there one night. Loved our stay and when we hopefully return to Bar Harbor, we will want to stay here again!

We stayed here with our extended family including a toddler and infant. The house has a long driveway so it sits away from the road and the outdoor space is wonderful. We loved sitting on the deck after hikes. There were lots of toys and a play set out back for the kids to enjoy. The kitchen was well-stocked. The only complaint is the carpet in two of the upstairs bedrooms was stained and worn, but they had replaced the carpet in the hallway and master so I assume the bedrooms are next. There is also plenty of parking - we had three cars and could have easily fit two more. It’s a perfect location for exploring Acadia. I was worried about staying outside of Bar Harbor but am happy we did - the yard was so pleasant to relax in after a day in the park.

This home was a perfect private place for a small family gathering. We had ample space for game/movie night on the rainy days with room tor cooking and meals for eight. The location was wonderful for short drives to Jordan pond, Cadillac mountain and walking the Shore path for beginner hikers. The Bee Hive was for the more ambitious of group. The Bar Harbor Inn was especially nice to have lunch and cocktails while viewing the harbor and enjoying the warmth from the fire pit. Overall our family had a wonderful time in Bar Harbor and the surrounding area.

This house is close to Acadia National Park, yet feels like you are far from town. It sits back from the road, is very quiet, and has a lovely backyard view. The downstairs is well suited to a family gathering. Enjoyed our short stay there.

The home was lovely! The kitchen was fully stocked and offered plenty of place for everyone to sit and enjoy. It was great being so close to Bar Harbor and the entrance to Acadia National park. We were even able to squeeze in one more hike the morning we left!

So, we came with 2 adults and 3 teen boys PLUS our sweet dog. Sometimes we feel like a circus rolling into town! This house was the perfect location for us. We drove up from VA so we have our own car - commuting to town or into Acadia was a breeze. Having the NP nearby was what lured my husband out every morning for a long hike or walk with the dog. As a family accessing the park in such a short time gave us opportunities to go to more than one “destination” in the park in one day. Parking in town - as busy as it seems! - was easy as well. Use the Parking app and it was just EASY. We never used the Island Explorer but could definitely see how that would be useful and accessible as well. Back to the house …. The bedrooms are all upstairs- except for one that is on the main floor. The master upstairs has a king bed that is SUPER comfortable. The room itself is HUGE. Bathroom is big and en suite to the master. Other two bedrooms have a Queen and twin, respectively. Guest bath is really good sized. Laundry room upstairs is a huge selling point for us! We are fam of five and doing laundry while there for two weeks is a must. Master bedroom has a skylight - which is a lovely feature for natural light, BUT!, if you’re like me and like to sleep past sunrise it can’t be a little bright. Melanie has a wall A/C unit (the nice kind with remote control, different speeds, temps, etc.). We found if we set it at the right temp, kept the door open and had one of the box fans pointed towards the other two bedrooms, it cooled off nicely. There were a lot of fans(I only mention this because the first week we were there it was unseasonably HOT - 2nd week was cooler.) Main floor bedroom AND the living room had portable A/C units which cool everything perfectly. Again, it was HOT the first week so cooling down at home was necessary. The main floor was great! Big ole table as well as seating at the bar. We didn’t do a lot of cooking other than breakfasts but there was a TON of pans and cooking utensils. The coffee maker was SO nice. Keurig unit that you could use for ground coffee for a lot of coffee OR K-cups. Fridge was modern and empty for our groceries (for 5 of us). French doors led to deck and the nice private backyard area. Living room furniture was super cozy (we’ve been places where it’s super uncomfortable or in crappy condition). ***Only complaints: could use more towels & newer ones. Pantry space for food. WE LOVED IT!! We hope to go back again!! Thank you!

Deer Meadow 2022
Yes, we saw deer in the meadow! It was a very nice property in a lovely location. I met 3 other friends there and we were pleased with the accommodations.
Master BR was absolutely lovely and only lacks a good place to hang clothing. The tiny rod wasn't strong enough, so we improvised. Loved the brewed or K-cup coffee maker.
Thanks to Melanie for having it ready a bit early.

comforts of home
This is our second stay at this rental. Nice, clean home away from the hubbub of downtown Bar Harbor. Kitchen is roomy and very well supplied, large dining table, comfy couches and television with satellite and 1/2 bath downstairs. Lovely large deck that overlooks big private backyard...you'll probably spot deer. One queen size bedroom downstairs, upstairs master with king and bathroom, another bedroom with queen and a room with a twin size bed that has an optional twin mattress available (stored under upstairs queen bed) that lays on floor. Also, additional full bath upstairs.
Location is about 2 miles from the Hull Cove entrance to Acadia and access to carriage roads.
The owner was quick to respond to any questions or issues (which we didn't have).

Seclusion in the middle of everything
The kitchen is to die for, and we'll stocked. The house is on a main road but back from the road with a tree line blocking it. The back deck is made for relaxing after a day of siteseeing. Coyotes and owls could be heard at night, and the sky was perfect for stargazing. It was perfect for our trip, with our group ranging in age from 13 to 63. We hope to come back again.

Hulls Cove stay
Our stay was overall a success. The home has plenty of space and all the essentials needed when away from home. Communicating with the host was easy as well as the check in and check out process.
The only complaints are that it could use some deep cleaning throughout, the shower curtain in hall bath needs to be bleached or replaced, a broken blind in one of the bedrooms, the back door is still not fixed as stated in other reviews, and the grill did not work properly for us to use it.
However, the overall size and location of the home (5 min to Acadia entrance), all the essentials provided within the home, and the easy communication with the host made this stay a success.

Great Location
Very Private and a great location close to entrance to national park and not far from town. The house has a large kitchen and interesting wood post and beams. We had a great week. I would say the house could use some repair, things like doors that don't close properly and the sliding door to the deck is not usable. Also the listing says there is a lobster pot and we had planned to get fresh lobsters and make our own but there is not a lobster pot. The largest pot in the house could only hold one lobster at a time so sadly we had to skip that. I would recommend this house and Bar Harbor as a great vacation.

Great house near Acadia
Very nice house. Much nicer than the pictures. Quiet, secluded and close to Acadia and Bar Harbor. Owner wasn't very forthcoming with house rules and guide which worried me but turns out she posted all the instructions inside the house at the point of use which makes sense.
The listing states there is AC but that is overly stating it. The master bedroom has a good split unit. The downstairs living area has a very loud window unit. The 3 bedrooms don't have any AC and during our heat wave we struggled with that. Having said that most of the time AC was not needed. I just wished the listing was more accurate about that.
The deck door was labeled "Broken do not use" which made the use of outdoor deck less convenient as we had to walk thru the foyer.
Otherwise the house was great.

Great location and very clean
Lovely very clean post and beam type home in a quiet location and short drive to the action in Bar Harbor. Access to Acadia is just a couple of miles down the road. The kitchen is wonderful, spacious and well equipped. The master suite was wonderful with a private bath. The king bed was VERY comfortable and I heard no complaints about the other beds at the house. I misinterpreted the listing as I thought there were twin beds for my young grandchildren. I contacted the owner and low and behold she informed me there was a twin mattress hiding under the queen bed. Problem solved. The yard is big with room for a dog to run, kids to play and deer to graze (which they did). We didn't watch much TV but, there were plenty of stations and apps to choose from. It was great to have wifi available. There were a few cons but, nothing that would prevent me from renting here again. Some of the screens were missing so you couldn't open up a few windows for fresh air (there is a portable air conditioner hooked up for hot weather) and the double door/sliders off the dining area for easy access to back deck were broken. The kids playset was enjoyed by our 3 & 5 year olds but, may it be a bit rickety for older young children. Other than that it was a great place to return to at the end of a busy day.

This location was perfect for visiting Acadia NP and Bar Harbor. The house was clean and well appointed. There were 6 of us and 2 dogs and we had plenty of room. Loved looking out into the backyard each morning and seeing deer.I highly recommend staying here if you plan on visiting Acadia NP and Bar Harbor.
