Location. Walked to local shops and points of interest. Renovated cottage with modern feel and comforts. Great facilities and everything worked well. Wifi was great to help plan our travels. Recommended and would come back.
Wind rattled the window, but easily secured until strong winds passed.

Perfect location, lovely old historic cottages, very quiet, comfy bed, allowed our dog to stay, was a lovely 3 days and would stay again.

Very quirky place to stay. We thoroughly enjoyed staying in the old cottage. It was a bit cold and dark when we arrived but next morning the sun flooded in and it was a whole different place. We had an exceptional meal at the hotel five minutes walk away

Location - easy walk into town and to a few historical sites. Kids loved the playground and creek across the road. Cottages were very clean, comfortable and well equipped. Set up of cottages were great for a group with the communal grass area and each cottage having an outdoor sitting area. Photos online don't do this place justice.
Cottages could have more shade over outdoor sitting areas. Oven could have been useful but we made do with the cook top and microwave.

So quaint, old charm but modern at the same time. Lovely kitchen and outdoor bbq area. Kids loved the skate park close by. Pubs and shops so close. Loved our stay.

Wonderful stopover at Burra. So many historical buildings and a heritage way to follow. Paxton Cottages are spacious, clean and we had a wonderful stay there.
Reception is at the caravan park, took us a while to find it.

It was a fun old accommodation. The guy who checked us in made us feel like we were disturbing him. Considering we had to check in, we had no choice.
Everything about the accommodations was great

So comfortable a great three days and the weather was perfect until we left. We were given extra coffee with a smile.

Everything was to our liking - refurbished miners' cottages were so comfy, roomy and quiet. Microwave, and an electric hop under sink as well as electric frypan. All clean and adequate for 3, although we were just a couple. Spacious lounge.
Your instructions to pick up keys at 12 Bridge Tce. was difficult to find. Eventually we went to Caravan park reception which happened to be #12. It would have been easier to say "collect at Caravan park reception on Bridge Tce".

The quaintness of the property & knowing a little of the history of the building. It was very comfortable with all the necessary amenities
There was nothing we didn’t like

Location excellent, comfortable cottage, good atmosphere, facilities good
More plantings of native, water-wise, low-maintenance plants on premises, it's a little bare.
Front door hard to lock.

Rustic beauty - we loved the traditional feel of the house and my kids were enthralled by the 'pull' light switches, though I had to remind them not to play with them! It was a bit chilly at times but the living room and bedrooms are well-heated. Lovely to be walking distance to the township.
It was a bit dusty and cold at times, but otherwise it was a nice enough spot. It would have been great to have more amenities available but it's just the type of property as well.

Everything! Great location, beautifully restored miner’s cottages, so comfortable and clean. Best accommodation I’ve had in a very long time!
Only regret is not staying longer!

Attitude of the management at reception when acquiring key to get to cottage as it was abrupt and in personable when asked if we were able to check in at the time we requested when we booked in online !

Loved the quirky, historical cottages, lovely location with nice walks into town and along the river. Spotlessly clean and very comfy. Friendly staff at check in. Hot shower with plenty of pressure
I originally gave this property 10/10, but the problems in getting a credit card refund for the bond taken for our dog have left a really nasty taste. I realised about two weeks after the stay that the $100 bond taken for our pet had not been refunded. When I contacted the caravan park that handles the cottages' bookings, I was told that they had tried to contact me but I had not answered so they'd 'just left it' till I called. No messages were left on my phone to advise me of this and Iwas spoken to very rudely. I should not have to chase this, and should not have to provide my CVC number just to get a refund. A bond should be handled as a credit card hold that simply returns to the card, like most hotels, not a full payment. The $100 was taken in person with the card present and a refund should be quick and simple. I would really love to stay again but this has put me off - it's time to update how things are done. If I hadn't called they would simply have kept my money. I rarely leave bad reviews but this was awful.

Bit cold in the morning.

Comfortable and clean. Like staying in an old Cornish cottage with all the mod cons. It was cold outside but nice and warm inside.
4.0 / 5.0
Comfortable bed and interesting refurbishment of an old stone cottage.
Location of the bathroom which required to descend a narrow set of wooden steps - was not expecting this. There were no obvious instructions on what should be the ideal temperature and fan setting for the air conditioning/heater to adequately heat the interior.

Central location and old world charm. It was very neat and tidy inside and out. The kitchen area was well suited to staying for a longer period and the shower facilities were excellent.
Perhaps in time some car/vehicle cover (like car ports to park under). That would make it super super excellent.

The receptionist was so friendly and helpful. The property was well situated and there was ample car parking space - even enough for our camper trailer. Beds were comfy and heating was adequate. The unit was very clean.
The different floor levels inside the unit could be troublesome for some, but weren't an issue for us. A shower screen rather than shower curtain would be better.

We thought it was lovely to stay in these authentic miners cottages.
We loved the minimalist aesthetics and the charming historical vibe.

Lovely restored and maintained heritage cottages. Great facilities, value for money, and the cottage was nice and warm.
The queen bed was rock hard, my partner and I both had a poor nights sleeps, waking up with sore backs.
