Coco Cottage at Poipu Beach is a classic, sugar plantation-style home located on the sunny south shore of Kauai. Completely rebuilt, it offers beautiful furnishings, a fully equipped kitchen, full-size washer and dryer, two air-conditioned bedrooms, each with a king-size bed, two bathrooms, and a huge, breezy lanai - offering island living at its best. Located in the heart of Poipu, Coco Cottage is just a 30-second walk to the ocean at the end of the street where you will find Brennecke's Beach and Poipu Beach Park for some of the best swimming, sunning, snorkeling and surfing on Kauai. Restaurants, delis, coffee shops, surf & beach rental shops, and a tennis club are all within an easy stroll of the cottage. Kauai is a dream destination, with the famous Na Pali Coast on one end of the island and stunning Waimea Canyon on the the other. This is a beautifully updated, thoughtfully designed and decorated rental. The house has a beautiful backyard to enjoy, along with a shaded lanai. We had everything we needed during our stay. Within super close proximity of the beach, and shops this is a fabulous rental.

Coco Cottage has everything you need for a relaxing stay and is just down the street from Brenneke beach and Poipu beach. We loved having breakfast & dinner on the back porch. The backyard is beautiful and feels like a private garden full of beautiful flowering and fruit trees. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need to prepare meals and a nice outdoor grill. The cottage is equipped with everything you might need. It is like staying at a friend’s house. We loved our stay at Coco Cottage and would love to stay there again on our next trip to Kauai. Thank you, Rick and Joan, for sharing your adorable cottage with us! Mahalo!

This was our second stay at the cottage. We felt right at home and appreciated the fully stocked house (kitchenware, dishes, basic spices & pantry staples, beach gear, towels, cooler, sand toys, sunscreen, etc). You cannot go wrong with this property if you’re looking for a lovely place near a beautiful beach. The delicious mango tree was a bonus and we enjoyed having mangos with breakfast every day. Owners are great and very responsive.

Over the past 20 years, we have stayed in many properties throughout Kauai and Coco Cottage was one of the very best. We loved the convenient location to Poipu Beach and the designated driveway, the decor was tastefully beach, the covered lanai perfect for sitting or dining outside, and the breeze through the cottage was heavenly. The cottage has everything you need, and the bedroom AC was much appreciated at night. We were also fortunate enough to meet Rick and chat with him for a while. We couldn't be more pleased with our choice and hope to stay again one day.

We love this home! We arrived in May. Beautiful, quiet and cozy place. Perfect for a small intimate family gathering. The backyard and landscaping was so beautiful. The covered lanai offers a peaceful second room to the home to enjoy lively conversation and backyard games. Great location with the ocean just down the way . It’s in close proximity to Poipu Beach. Saw lots of turtles and monk seals. Home was a well stocked kitchen. Easy to follow directions regarding the use of the house and everything was well marked. Owners left a personal note which was appreciated. Great experience! Highly recommend. Coco is cuckoo for Coco Cottage!

Joan and Rick have an amazing home, in the perfect location with all the kitchen and beach amenities you will need. We enjoyed the awesome patio for morning coffee and winding down every day. I would definitely recommend this property for the perfect Kauai vacation!!!

Great home away and location! We stayed with friends for 2 weeks. It was a lovely place to be. Walked to the beach every morning to see the turtles and sometimes monk seals.

Cute, clean and convenient! Adorable Hawaiian decorated cottage. We stayed with another couple for four nights and wish it had been longer. Peaceful lanai and back yard. Generous and thoughtful welcome basket. Couldn't be better!

This is a wonderful property-exactly as described. Open, airy floor plan with lovely decor and exceptionally well-stocked kitchen. Bedrooms are spacious with great closet space and plenty of hangers. :-) The spacious lanai is a fantastic place to relax, read and listen to the birds. Beach wagon and supplies were such a plus! Joan and Rick were professional, welcoming and so easy to communicate with. We had a question about the stove and got an immediate response with Rick coming over that day to help us. Thank you for a fabulous stay- We will definitely be back!

This cottage is a perfect 2 bedroom 2 bath place to stay literally a 2 minute walk from Poipu Beach. It’s very nice, clean, well furnished and extremely well outfitted for a perfect stay in Kauai. All the rooms are spacious with nice, comfortable furniture, the kitchen is well stocked and roomy and the back deck and yard are a great way to relax and enjoy the outdoors for morning and evening dining. This place has everything and the owners are super friendly and responsive. We’ll certainly stay here next time we’re back on Kauai.

This place has it all! A block to the water's edge. Add a few more steps and you're at the beach. Giant, comfortable beds. Spacious, well-appointed bathrooms. A kitchen that continuously surprised us with the variety of gadgets at our disposal for the light home cooking we did for several breakfasts and dinners. A huge back lanai overlooking a neatly trimmed lawn and hemmed in on all sides by trees and shrubs, a playground for local birds. Joan and Rick have tricked this house out for a seamless home away from home experience in an epically beautiful neighborhood. The Brick Oven Pizza recommendation in the book was excellent too. Many thanks to our hosts! Would definitely book again.

We stayed at Coco Cottage for a family vacation that included two young kids. Coco Cottage was the perfect place to stay for two weeks because of its prime location and amenities! It was only a 10-minute walk to Po’ipu and stocked with all the things a family with little kids needs—travel crib, plastic plates and cutlery, books, wagon, and beach toys. In addition, the house is absolutely gorgeous and so clean. Rich and Joan are lovely and easy to communicate with. We could not have asked for a better place to make our home for a couple of weeks and can’t wait to go back! Thank you for having us Rich and Joan!

It’s obvious that the owners take very good care of this property. It’s tastefully furnished throughout. The kitchen is well stocked. The large back porch overlooks a lush and well maintained backyard. We felt very welcome and comfortable here. The location is superb. It’s only a very short walk to the beaches, yet it’s tugged away in a peaceful neighborhood.

Coco cottage is among our best rentals ever !!! Fantastic location, well maintained, welcoming treats, very good beach gears and great host. We loved our stay at Coco Cottage. It was a dream come true! The comfortable home had everyone we needed and there were so many thoughtful touches. The lanai is so beautiful and we loved having breakfast on the patio with a view of the tropical plants. A very short walk to the beach and some stunning lava flow formations along the water. This place could not be any better!!!

We have stayed in many rental homes on vacation , and this was the absolute best. Home is a very nice and well decorated Hawaiian cottage home. Just a short walk to amazing beaches. Beach supplies provided ! Bedrooms have nice AC. Living room does get warm during day but ok at night. Host is very responsive and one of the friendliest host we have dealt with. Thanks for an amazing stay.

This was our second time staying at Coco Cottage. We love the house! It is perfect for a family of four and close to Poipu and Brennecke beaches. The kitchen is fully equipped so we could make meals easily. We enjoyed coffee and breakfast each morning on the lanai. Beds are extremely comfortable. The house is clean, well maintained, and stays cool with the cross breeze and air conditioning in the bedrooms. We loved are stay and will definitely stay again if we are back in Kauai.

We only stayed the one night sadly, but this is a beautifully appointed beach house, just a short stroll away from Brennecke and Poipu beaches. Very tastefully furnished, with generously sized bedrooms and ensuites, and a fabulous lanai and back lawn for sunset drinks and dinner. Highly recommended.

We rented (3) homes for our family vacation. One family had the Coco Cottage. My daughter said "If I could have on wish it would be to have this home moved to where we live" I think that says it all about what a wonderful time and experience they had at the Coco Cottage.

The house was impeccably clean and welcoming. The kitchen, dining and living rooms were open and bright and inviting. Each of the two bedrooms had a full attached bath. Thus, it was perfect for two couples. The back porch was one of the best parts of the house; we enjoyed sitting there in the morning with our coffee and enjoyed using the space throughout the day. Five minute walk to the beaches and a few minutes more to places to eat, such as Brennecke's Beach Broiler.

We were beyond impressed with the attention to details Coco Cottage’s owners take. From a drawer filled with kid cups/dishes, to their well stocked supply closet, they have thought of everything. We appreciated how clean the house was inside and out! The back porch was our favorite spot to hang out with the comfortable furniture and fans. Our time was not long enough! We hope to return soon, as our teenage boys stated, “This house is awesome!”

Coco Cottage was exactly as described and everything we expected. The cottage is clean, thoughtfully furnished, and well maintained. The location is superb; it’s a short walk to fantastic beaches. The highlight of our South Shore vacation was boogie-boarding at Brennecke’s Beach, snorkeling, and seeing the turtles and seals resting on the shore of Poʻipū Beach.
