Very friendly staff, very clean and large room, nice view on the ocean. Possibility of doing your laundry and direct beach front access. All in all a fabulous stay! Price is generally very high.
4.7
Amazing staff and location. Rooms are a little small but very updated, glean and comfortable

My wife and I thought this property was terrific. The staff and service were great, as was the location. The room wasn’t brand new (compared to 5 star expectations), but was very clean and nice. We paid for an upgrade and had a great ocean and pool/courtyard view. With only 120 or so rooms, we felt like guests and not like a number. Would definitely stay here again.
4.7
Overall, the experience was great. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Our room with an ocean view was perfect. One annoyance was having to hunt for pool chairs because people claimed them early, but would be gone for hours with only their book on the chair to make sure no one else took it. The hotel should enforce a “no saving” policy so others have a chance to lounge by the pool, too.
4.7
Warm welcome from the front desk and valet.
4.7
Great staff and service- quiet and low key
4.7
Wonderful resort with good amenities. Staff very accommodating and friendly. Right on the ocean and great beach access. The rooms are a little dated, but good overall. The restaurant was good but incredibly expensive. Pool bar was also super expensive for drinks ($20 per drink!). Also kind of ridiculous that you have to use valet even though the parking lot is literally 25 feet away from the building. It definitely seemed like they tried to nickel and dime us for everything. Overall we enjoyed our stay, but I don’t think it’s worth it for the price.
4.7
The property is safe, not too crowded and quiet. That said, it is very dated and not maintained properly. There was black mould in the shower corners and fixtures, the grout is stained and needs to be replaced. At the prices they charge it should be way better.
4.7
Great resort overall. Definitely pricey and has a few other hidden fee’s (Parking/Resort fee) for a few hundred bucks after your stay but overall a great Resort. Very relaxed, not crowded and right on the beach. In a secluded area of the island that doesn’t feel Super touristy. Overall a great experience.

Beautiful stay at Ko Kea Resort! We were celebrating my friends 60th. The view from our balcony was gorgeous. We walked down the beach to the left and sat for hours spotting turtles. The breakfast at Red Salt was wonderful. And the service by Becca went above and beyond! She was friendly and surprised my friend with a small birthday dessert. Definitely recommend Ko'a Kea resort if you are visiting Kauaii and Poipu Beach!

We just had our honeymoon in this resort! We had a great time! We love the location since it is in poipou beach! We were able to relax since it’s peaceful and quiet in the resort!😊

We loved everything about this resort:)
4.7
Great location next to the beach, quiet and an easy walk across the street to shops and food. Service was amazing and they made every accommodation to make the stay pleasant and convenient.
4.7
Beautiful location. However, service was average at best and many times lacking substantially from particularly room service. Housekeeping was average, flat surfaces and mirrors not cleaned. The property appears worn and needs refreshing. Landscaping needs a redo; carpeting in the main restaurant was disgusting and needs to be removed. 2 very large cockroaches in our suite.
Having reserved an oceanfront suite, I expected more from this property considering its recent high rating from Travel and Leisure. This certainly was NOT the case and it was disappointing. The high point was the pool bar. Great friendly customer service, prompt food and good drinks. Highly commend this staff.
Unfortunately I cannot recommend this property after such high hopes.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice rooms and good location.

We went here for our 10 year anniversary. Snorkeling at Poipu beach was amazing! The spa Oceanside massages were wonderful. Red salt is delicious. Everyone on the property were so nice and helpful!
4.7
We found this property is perfect for a romantic get away. They have a pool and bar central to the property. The ocean is right at the property. Sunset views are amazing.

Beautiful boutique hotel with beach access. Excellent sushi bar.

Valet parking $35 a day.

The swimming pool too small . Not enough resort activities. Staff was very attentive and curteous. Made us feel welcomed & at home . Customer service was amazing .
4.7
Beautiful property; ocean views; good place to hike; absolutely amazing concierge; fabulous sushi but main restaurant a bit pricey for what you get; do the cabana!
4.7
Good but exspensive for what you get.

I don’t need to vacation anywhere else!!!!
Ko’a kea is MY place!!!!!!!

The location is nice, the view at the sunset from the lawn is beautiful. The beach, which is close by has marine wildlife (turtles, monk seals). I hope that they fixed the pathway to the beach which was broken and replaced by sand bags.
Be careful if you need anything from the reception desk – as to be resolved right then/do not accept their standard answer (that it will be resolved soon). Right when arrived, we asked to have our room changed. We were assured that it will be resolved in the morning, just to be told then that there is no way to change it. The reason provided: there are no rooms which will change the occupants for the entire week stay (of course, this was not the case). More disturbingly, the reception person claimed that we did not even request it, placing the blame on us as they did not find a record from the night shift in the system.
The food at the restaurant on site RedSalt is quite good, but be very careful at the bill. We were charged several times items that we did not order at the breakfast.
Do not expect the usual service for this number of stars. You will be nickel and dimed for items like the beach chairs and umbrellas. When the soap in the containers in the shower ran out, we had to ask for soap. The maintenance person handed us a bottle to replace it ourselves. Turned out that the holder was locked, and the we had to ask them to replace it.
On the positive side, the island itself is really beautiful. We will come back, though not here.
4.7
Beautiful hotel. Staff was very accommodating and ready to assist. Definitely a place to return to.
4.7
I loved the peaceful and quiet property. It was not as big and crowded as the other properties nearby. The pool bar was fine, but it could use a remodel to make it nicer to han the out at the bar. Some less expensive options on the menu would be nice. We went to other hotel bars for these reasons. Overall, it is a fantastic property that feels more personal than most resorts.
4.7
A beautiful, comfortable, intimate resort with exceptional staff.
4.7
It was a decent stay but not enough for 4 stars in our opinion. The restaurant is not comfy…also no comfy lounging possible.
I do think the breakfast offer is overpriced also be aware of $ 35.00 per day for valet parking in addition every day has a resort charge plus taxes makes the additional around $ 100.00 on top of your reservation.
Pool is a bit small for the amount of guests and count of lounch chairs at the pool seems not sufficient.

Rooms and amenities would benefit from an update at this price point. Minor annoyances: toilet runs all night, some plugs in room not working. Staff were great and provided compensation for any errors made on their end. Always lots of fresh towels and water bottles daily. We did enjoy our stay and can recommend.

This property provided an intimate boutique experience in a beautiful natural setting. It was an oasis in paradise. For such a small property there were so many ammenities!
4.7
I loved the proximity to the beach. There were opportunities to snorkel right in front of our resort. Staff was friendly and responded immediately finding a new room near us when a couple in our group was assigned a room away from the rest of us. I only saw two down sides. One was the extremely high cost of breakfast at Red Salt, the resort’s restaurant. Guests need options for faster, reasonably-priced breakfasts to start busy tourist days. The second down side was the lack of beach access from the boardwalk. It appeared the stairs had washed out and they provided stacked sandbags to get to the beach. Not safe for the two 80 year olds we had with us!
4.7
The property is quiet and has plenty of beach access. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Room was clean and had plenty amenities. The food at Red Salt was delicious. Spa service was amazing and very relaxing.
4.7
Excellent customer service
4.7
Excellent location on Poipu Beach. Red Salt restaurant is first class in terms of cuisine and service. Although a car is recommended to explore the Island of Kauai, Koa Kea is walkable to shopping village and nearby restaurants. Rooms were well appointed. Excellent staff and service. Highly recommend!!
