We thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to Tennessee. The property was exactly as it was described in the listing. The hosts were wonderful. We will definitely return.

Great communication on check in information so well I did not even have to contact the owner for anything. This cute house has everything you need and more. Love the decorations and cleanliness. If you want to fish in the backyard there are trout back there. Bring some waders or water boots and there are holes that fish are in. Read a book sit by the fire in peace this is for you. There are many places not to far from the house to trout fish. Roan mountain state park, Watauga River and many little spots on the Doe River Fishing trail. Elizabethton and Hampton are cute little towns and have pretty much anything you need. Thanks for having us in your home and sharing this beautiful place with others.

Such a blessing to stay at Journeys End. This is by far the number 1 home I have ever rented in all of my travels.
The property is absolutely beautiful. Sitting on the deck by the river was so peaceful, especially in the evenings when the automatically came on. We made great use if the BBQ and firepit. Great location - about 10 minutes to Elizabethton.
Walking through the door at Journeys End was the beginning of a great vacation!!!
Thank you, Diane and Richard!!! My God richly bless you!

This is a beautiful well maintained property. You will not need anything when you arrive the owners have thought of everything. I was looking for a place to just relax and this is exactly what we got. Still close enough to restaurants but the feeling is so far away from everything.

The house has been totally renovated. If you like to fish, it is the perfect location! Of course, we tied some intertubes together and enjoyed getting in the water! It felt great. I went with some girlfriends from high school and we sat on the back porch, enjoyed the beautiful view, shared memories from years ago, and just enjoyed being together!

Wonderful home, very well stocked and cleaned. Great water, pressure, hot water. The perfect location on the river we had so much fun playing in the river for 2 1/2 days. Close enough to town if you needed anything from the store. We got Walmart Delivery a couple times which was just as quick as when we’re at home In a bigger city. This was truly one of the best VRBO I’ve ever stayed in. We are truly hoping to come back Every year!

Clean, comfortable, cozy!!!
This property is great. Nice neighborhood and right on Doe River. All the extra touches are throughout the home. Having the sound of the river as you drift off to sleep is priceless! Beds are comfortable too. Kitchen is well stocked and has a gas stove! Listing shows there is a washer and dryer, but there is not. Owners are prompt with questions and inquiries. If we are in the area again, will definitely check to see if this gem is available. If you decide to stay you will not be disappointed.

Everything was perfect and top of the line. From the interior to the exterior pure perfection. Every, and I mean, every possible need was provided for. The house was tremendously clean, sparkly, shining and smelled fresh. The outside was again outstanding-covered patio, comfortable chairs, mosquito candle, grill, table and chairs for a possible card game. The view of the river, so close, was breath taking. The roar of the river was unbelievable. Our stay was wonderful. We travel a lot as retired folk and I must say, this house/outside was the best of all of our travels. Any question we had was answered immediately. We will return. The hosts were the best ever. They seemed like family. Again our stay was ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC.

We enjoyed close proximity to 3 state parks, where we made day visits and did some easy hikes. Mostly we enjoyed sitting on the deck watching the river and the wildlife. I spent several hours watching a kingfisher hunt- fascinating!

Our second annual "Girlfriends Retreat" was wonderful. Everything was as described--it was just as wonderful as last year! Communication with the host was awesome. It's a great place to just hang out, especially when the weather allows sitting on the deck by the river. So peaceful! We'll be back again next year.

Being on the end of the street and nestled right up to the river, this a great space for getting away from the hustle but just a short drive to all the amenities of town. Hoping to come back in the summer when we can leave the windows open and fall asleep to the sounds of the water.

Journeys End is a riverside retreat guaranteed to exceed anyone’s expectations. It is amazingly generous of these lovely owners to share this treasure. A charming and winsome location matched by perfect accommodations. Beautifully furnished, sophisticated and comfortable, it is appointed with every creature comfort for which one might wish. Our only regret was that we had to leave!

We could not have been happier with our stay at Journeys End. The accommodations here are wonderful with the Doe River at our back door making us feel like we were in heaven. Thank you for letting us stay in your cozy home over the weekend while we were attending the National Storytelling Festival. It was fantastic! It was exactly the retreat we had been looking for.
The property was very clean, warm, and welcoming. The beds were very comfortable, and the kitchen was better stocked than many other places we have stayed at before. The atmosphere here exudes comfort and peace. AND let's not forget the little gift you left was such a pleasant surprise.
Rick and Diane, you left no stone unturned in making us feel right at home. You even checked on us to ensure we weren't lost arriving and offered to be readily available if we needed anything.
We're not sure when we’ll return, but we're hoping it won’t be too long. We had a fantastic time at Journeys End and thank you for being so kind! We appreciate your family’s hospitality!

Diane & Richard have a beautiful, immaculately clean & well furnished home on the Doe River. This was our third time staying at Journey’s End and will not be the last! Sitting by the river with coffee in the morning, glass of wine early evening is blissful.
We brought our son - 42 years old - to fly fish for two days. He & his Dad had a great time & caught lots of fish on Wautauga & South Holsten. Trophy Waters Outfitters are outstanding guides! Thank you for Journeys End, not a destination, it’s a journey!

Too much good to say which is why I rated it 5 stars all the way. The stay for my husband and me was mainly for relaxation even though there is so much to do in the area! The location on the Doe river was perfect as was the deck and the house…without a doubt the nicest VRBO we have stayed in. Anything we could possibly need was there! Communication with Diane was also super. I would stay there again in a minute! Loved it!

If you are visiting the mountains of East Tennessee, you will not find a nicer location. Diane is so very organized and has wonderful taste. She will get back with you very quickly if you have any questions. The home is nicely decorated and the view is THE VERY BEST. It is close to Roan Mountain and the covered bridge. We will be back for sure.

Charming outside and inside! Had everything you need! The best time there was sitting on porch, hearing the river, watching the big & little kids fish in the river. We saw 2 kyackers go by and watch the hummingbirds feeding from the feeder on the porch! Peaceful!,
