This updated, cozy cottage offers a flat walk to the water and beautiful views. The main level offers an open layout perfect for gathering and overlooking the lake with a second living room area with flat screen TV plus a large dining table that overlooks the lake. There are two bedrooms (one with king size bed and one with queen size bed) with one full bathroom on the main level. The upper level offers a beautifully updated and well stocked kitchen with Keurig & drip coffee, a second living room with large flat screen TV. The master bedroom with a king size bed plus a full bath. Both bathrooms are newly remodeled along with the gorgeous newly remodeled kitchen. Both levels offer full length wall to wall, sliding glass doors to enjoy the spectacular views of the main channel. The two back decks offer wide water views that will take your breath away. Plenty of seating with a gas grill plus charcoal grill on the lower deck that leads to the flat walk with new stone path to the new dock. You will pass a brand NEW fire-pit for you to enjoy so don't forgot the marshmallows. There are also 2 kayaks for guests to use as well. loved the house and yard and dock. perfect for our little family. there was ALOT of water traffic extremely close to the dock that made swimming with little ones difficult. overall a great place!

Cool Breeze continues to be our “Go To” spot at SML. This was our 3rd. stay since May and it truly felt like “coming home” when we walked through the door. For our family it is the perfect size and location. Even though the weather turned windy and cold, we were perfectly content inside as the wall of windows offers a fabulous view of the main channel. If the owners ever consider selling (can’t imagine they ever would😢) we will be first in line! Only one suggestion-a mirror in the bedrooms would help free up the bathrooms!

The king bedroom has a horrible yellow jacket problem. My son and I both got stung laying in bed on seperate days. There were dead yellow jackets all over the room and over 20 in the window sill. My husband and I decided to not sleep in that room and chose to sleep on the pullout couch. I didn’t expect to be sleeping so poorly on my vacation. Both the kitchen and the downstairs bathroom have ants. We had to throw away food one morning when we woke and saw the ants had gotten into our bread. we were killing 100’s of ants a day. The grill was left with food on the grates, full of ashes and a cigar butt in it. The oven would not turn off after use so My husband had to crawl behind the awful ( which was completely filthy) and unplug it. The washer was left full of other people’s hair and lint. All the walls and doorways are filthy. They have brown and black smudges and gunk all over them. It was very disgusting to see this in a rental property. I do not see where the cleaning fee is being used at all. My elder father in law sat down last night on a chair outside and fell right through it hurting his tailbone. I have been renting lake houses every summer for the past 5 years at SML and nothing like this has ever happened.

We love this property! It’s the second year we stayed at Cool Breeze. The kitchen is well stocked and everything was clean. The dock is a gem. Only issues we had are beds/toilets are low and there isn’t a no wake zone near the dock. The boat takes a beating even with bumpers in place. Would stay again!

This place was perfect for our family vacation. This was our 2nd time here and we enjoyed it even more than the first. This was also the first time we’ve ever stayed a full week at the lake and I was a little concerned that we would be bored. Absolutely NOT! This house is so relaxing we could have stayed all summer. The layout of the house provides plenty of space for gathering together with all guests while also allowing space for privacy for “alone time!”

Loved property-exactly as advertised. A little noisier than anticipated, but it was “poker weekend” on the lake which we didn’t know until we arrived (our oversight.) Also, some light construction noise on both sides of our house-but the boat noise drowned that out!
Also, clogged shower drain. Since we were only there a few nights, we made do with other tub/shower and didn’t report it until we were leaving.
Still, we absolutely loved this place and have a week planned there next month.

Just needed to be cleaned
Have been coming for close to 30 years, and this was the first time we came and the place was not cleaned prior to our arrival, so that was unfortunate, but the overall house and location was great!

Wonderful week on SML!
We had a fabulous time! Upon arrival, we came in to a sparkling clean house. The kitchen’s very well stocked and the bathrooms were spotless. We spent hours on the dock (caught a lot of catfish) and cooked at home every night. The furniture and beds were comfortable. The neighborhood was awesome and walkable; lots of deer! We loved it so much, we’re already booked for next year. As with other reviewers, the stairs are a little daunting but there are handrails. Can’t wait to go back!

Enjoyable stay with beautiful views
We really enjoyed our relaxing stay at this lake house (lake is very busy). We enjoyed swimming in the lake, kayaking, and the endless beautiful views! Watch out though because the spiders there build endless webs everywhere! Our only issue we had were with the horrible mattresses. An entire week of little sleep on a bad mattress is no fun. Also, if you are wanting to wash a load of landry go to the laundry mat. Don't use the washer/ dryer combo there unless you want to spend ALL day washing and drying 5 towels. Overall, we would recommend this house

Amazing stay at Cool Breeze
We loved staying at Cool Breeze! The fire pit was fun, especially being right beside the lake. The dock and dock chairs were awesome. And this may be a small thing for some, but we LOVE the dock ladder - it had great steps and was angled a little to make it easier to climb. The downstairs table was perfect for a jigsaw puzzle. We searched SML house rentals for few stairs to the lake - and Cool Breeze was the perfect fit. The house is very close to the water, with only a slight grade. We had the best week!! Thank you for a great lake vacation! We look forward to renting Cool Breeze again!!

Enjoyed the stay and access to lake. Upstairs was nice. Lower level had musky smell which I believe came from old furniture. Only issue with main level is need shower bars installed in shower. Still enjoyed stay.

A Relaxing & Pleasant Stay
Our family had a great time at this lakehouse property! The house was clean and had everything our family needed for a relaxing and fun week at the lake. The ocation on the lake with the dock was fantastic and the fire pit and picnic table were nice for outdoor eating and watching the sunset. The use of their kayaks was a great plus too. We were also able to rent a motor boat from a company not terribly far away and were able to keep it tied up on the dock. We had one issue with the kayak and an oar blowing off the dock during a very windy night, so I recommend to future visitors that they learn from our mistake and make sure to secure the Kayaks each night. We were able to recover the Kayak and the missing oar the management company was very understanding about and was able to replace for the owner using the insurance that came with the rental. I would also recommend that you bring extra trash bags, toilet paper, paper towel and tissues if staying more than 1 or 2 nights. While these items are supplied by the property, it is only the first bag, a single roll of paper towel and a couple toilet paper rolls. Linens and towels are also the responsibility of the renter, which seems to be the standard practice for nearly all the properties in the area. Overall, I would highly recommend this property and would happily stay there again if we are to return to SML.

Wonderful time at Smith Mountain Lake
We really enjoyed our peaceful stay at this cute cottage! Especially loved the kayaks! Deer galore and a neighborhood heron were cool to see often during our stay. Loved it all! The only negative is the fact that you have to take your own trash to the dump when you leave but it was only 3 miles away. Would definitely come back!!

Great house
Lake access was very manageable, relatively flat. Boat dock was superb. Master bed needs replacing we slept in divots. Other beds were comfortable per our other guests. Taking garbage to nearby facility was an inconvenience, especially the last day when our car was packed full to leave. House was roomy and comfortable. New bathrooms were beautiful but could use more shelves in lower level bathroom. The upstairs kitchen as odd but we managed. Washer/dryer combo was useful. Extra fans throughout the house came in handy to maintain cooler temps, especially in master bedroom. Great outdoor space and decks. Lots of deer around to entertain us. TV access and WIFI were very good.

Girls Weekend
This property was just the right size for the 3 ladies. However, we found the stairs a bit challenging. Unfortunately, we missed that this home is on the main channel, not a quiet cove. Because it was a very busy weekend, we found it to be very noisy and too rough to take out the kayaks as planned. We enjoyed spending time on the dock and the back decks.

Amazing!!!
This is the cutest place and the dock is perfect!!! We had a blast. Swam a lot!!!The only thing was the dust and some cobwebs. The ceiling was full of dust and cobwebs. Some the lamps has them also and the corners on the walls. We would definitely stay here again though. Kitchen and bathrooms redone and beautiful. Love the porches and the kayaks and corn hole games. Best vacation EVER:)

Great Stay (Mostly)
We had 4-5 adults staying at this property. The house, decks, fire pit, and especially the docking unit out on the water were wonderful. Unfortunately, we had an issue with the washer-dryer combo unit and could not launder all week. We counted on this with light packing, and having to bring our own towels and sheets. The problem was not resolved during our stay at all.

Perfect Spring Break Escape!
We loved the views of the lake from the dock and from the house! Beautiful sunsets! We loved the proximity to the State Park, and enjoyed a visit to a nearby winery, and to mini-golf and restaurants (happy to find a couple of nearby places with curbside take-out). The house is clean and comfortable, with decor that adds a little personality! We would definitely stay here again - maybe when the water is warmer!! We enjoyed the kayaks and the fire pit and the grill! Everything was wonderful!

The rooms are decorated nicely and all the necessary items are there.There are utensils, pots, and pans, kayak, paddles, safety jackets, grilling stuff, gas grill, charcoal grill outside by the lake. Amazing set up with the firepit. Everything works and usable. The layout of the room is a bit unconventional but that will not stop us from comping back! The main level has a living room with a TV, dining room, two bedrooms, and one full bathroom. Great wall to all patio doors provide amazing lake view and access to the lower deck. The second floor is where we spent most of the time. It has a nice kitchen, dining area, and another living room with VM. Again, wall to wall patio door with an amazing view of the lake, and the dock! All windows and doors work great and there are a lot of them if you need more light or there are built-in blind to provide privacy. The kitchen is very well stocked, everything you need. The refrigerator is big and working like a champ. There is a combo washer/dryer that also workes well. The kitchen has Keuring and conventional coffee machines. The stove and microwave are modern and fully-functional. The second-level deck has nice chairs and provides a beautiful view! The neighbor house to the right is also on VRBO and tenants change a few times while we were there. No noise, great people that did not bother anyone and it is enough distance to between the houses. All other houses around are occupied by owners - a very quiet and upscale place. The dock has two clean, working kayaks - we used them and enjoyed the ride around the cove at the dawn. I also took a swim (when I flipped from the Kayak out of my own clumsiness lol) but the water was clean and the dock has a small ladder to the water. Water was warm in mid-October.The house is not positioned inside of the cove so you will hear boats and kayakers pass by. Could be a bit noisy at times when there are a lot of speed boats but not too crazy. Also, the doors and the windows at the house provide very good sound isolation. The team that I had to communicate with was simply amazing. You get responses within a few minutes, phone calls were picked up and returned. Great people and provide all the info you need!

Relaxation on the Lake
This property had everything we needed for a relaxing stay at Smith Mountain Lake. Access to the water was easy. My children are older so I didn't have to be as concerned about the boating traffic, which overall was not bad. Easy in and out to the grocery store when needed too.

Great Location!!!
My family and I had a great week at Cool Breeze Cottage. House was very clean and well stocked. Great views of the lake from the house. We rented a pontoon boat and jet skis from a local marina. Restaurants and the supermarket were close by. We also rented sheets and towels from a local company recommended by the rental agency. The best part is the lake. The water was warm and clean and very little traffic during the week. We spent a lot of time floating and watching the amazing sunsets. Definitely will be back.

The perfect lake getaway!
Cool Breeze Cottage is a wonderful place to enjoy everything about Smith Mountain Lake. Relaxing, beautiful with spectacular view of sunsets. We highly recommend this place and would definitely stay there again.

Needed a little more attention!
The light in the refrigerator did not work, someone came by and checked it but it continued to short out the entire week. She promised she would bring me my check-in gift, it was not there when we arrived. Never came back. We had to request the grass be moved. They came following day. Would have been nice to have done for our family on Sunday as we played games outside. A little disappointing this time. Had to clean decks and chairs. The place itself was nice, just a few things should have been better for the cost!

Great Experience!
My wife and I, our son and daughter, and their spouses spent a comfortable, memorable, and wonderful week here, and had no issues whatsoever. We loved it! The only concern I would have to mention is the water traffic on the lake during peak times and on the weekends can get a little busy and annoying. That is no fault of the property owners nor the property management at all. We would highly recommend this cottage to anyone and would love to come back and stay here again soon.

A lovely cottage
Our family had such a nice time and enjoyed this beautiful property. It is very cozy with all the comforts of home with a gorgeous view.
The convection oven and the washer/dryer combo were a bit challenging to use if you are not used to them.
We definitely plan to stay there again!!

House is well taken care of. Sunrise and Sunset on the dock was awesome! Check in and out was easy. We will definitely be back!
