Loved the quiet but it was far to get to things. If you are looking for quiet, peaceful, beautiful this is it! We had young adults that wanted to go to go and there wasn’t a lot to choose from in the area.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Gentry's Rest Stop 1. The house was very spacious and well equipped with anything you would need, especially the kitchen. We have never stayed somewhere that had everything that you need. Just bring your clothes and food! We met the owners, Rhonda and Bobby, while we were there. They were very nice and friendly, and even let us take a look at the 2nd house that is on the property. Our favorite thing about the house was the back porch!!! It is huge! We loved that it was covered so that we could sit out on the porch when it was raining and just enjoy the scenery and the cool weather. We also loved the back yard and the beautiful creek that ran through the property. The kids had plenty of space to run around and play outside, and plenty of games inside to keep them busy. A couple of the beds were pretty hard, but other than that the house was wonderful. This is definitely somewhere that we would consider returning to in the future.

Great place for the whole family in the woods. Private location but still close to shopping and fun. Owners were great and the house was so cute. Best porch ever

The property was very nice with a quiet stream. Everyone enjoyed their time. This house made you feel very much at home, they have literally everything you need if you’re a large family with children. Plenty of silverware, containers, cooking utensils, and even a homemade ice cream maker. This is an optimal place if you’re looking to take the kids and family. We appreciated the gift basket from the owners!

We had an awesome vacation at the Gentry's place. We did some hiking, fishing, and eating out, but mostly we hung out in the cabin reading, watching tv, and playing games, and it was perfect for that. We really enjoyed relaxing and bringing in the new year in such a nice and comfortable cabin.

Our family of 8 absolutely loved this cabin. We've never felt more at home in a cabin before this one. We enjoyed the HUGE back porch, the yard & the creek in the back yard! We also loved the location of the cabin. The owner was outside one afternoon and was very friendly and welcoming.
Only complaint I have is with the property manager. I called once we arrived because it was a little confusing as to which cabin was ours. I knew there were two cabins on the same property but in the first picture of our booking it shows the second cabin and not the one we booked so it was a little confusing. I had called her to verify which cabin was ours because honestly our cabin was so beautifully decorated on the outside that it looked like a storefront. Cathy was very rude from the first sentence she spoke. She stated she had 16 other properties, which I understand but being patient with someone goes a long way and also the tone you talk to people with. There is no reason for anyone to talk to someone like a dog. She helped us figure out which cabin was ours and then we ran into a issue with the code to the door. She stated she sent an email with the welcome packet after paying in full, which if she did that's fine but I never received it on my end. I paid in full at booking so I'm not sure if it went down a pot hole or what. It weren't no big deal but she kept arguing with me that I should have received it, if I checked my email. Which I had checked several times, in all folders.

Great, Kevin had everything we need. Had neighbors that were a little closer than I prefer but other than that no complaints.

This was by far our favorite place we have ever stayed. They have thought of everything! Literally bring your clothes and food. They have it all perfectly stocked, decorated o so cute for fall and are super nice! We had plenty of room and were right at home. The kids played board games and we didnt see them on their devices the whole weekend. The kids loved the loft.
Thank you so so much for a great trip

This is our second year and again the Gentry's didn't dissapoint. This is an amazing place to stay. There is so much room for everyone to spread out, lots of games for the kids, the patio os by far our favorite place to relax. They have thought of everything. Lots to do in town and in surrounding areas. We will be going back again next summer for year 3. Its our new tradition and home away from home.

I was pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness of the entire property. That is one of my biggest factors for a pleasant stay and this one passed the test.

We had a great stay. The only thing I didn't like is the owners live on the bottom floor of the property and that was not included when we rented so when renting you are staying right above them on the second and third floor. They didn't bother us but I like staying in a private cabin when going on vacation with family.

Beautiful place to stay and relax while enjoying the beautiful scenery. Rhonda was so attentive and the home has everything you need and more. Very cozy and a true gem in a great location close to everything but yet relaxing. The creek is absolutely gorgeous. We came here for a retreat and it was the perfect place for it. Will visit again for sure!

We really enjoyed our time there. The kitchen can only fit two persons, however there is every kitchen tool, plate, or dish that is needed. Everything looked so clean and so nicely decorated for Christmas, including two Christmas trees !

The house is beautifully decorated on a secluded property. Clean facilities, hot tub, kitchen and plenty of space for other guests if needed. We were greeted by the owner when we got there who was super pleasant. The creek on the property was so peaceful. Would highly recommend!

This is the 2nd year we have stayed at Gentry's Rest Stop and we love it as much now as we did the first time! The owners are very nice and the place is awesome. Love that the creek runs through the property. The check-in process is quick and simple. You'll have all the information you need before you arrive. If you are looking to unwind and recharge your spirit, this is the place for you! :D

This was such a wonderful place to stay. There are not enough words to express it. There is so much room and space for everyone. The back patio is like its own oasis listening to the creek. They have everything you could possibly need and more. The Gentries live downstairs, but would never know they were there if your worried about privacy. We did love when we saw them. So kind and had great info to offer. Amazing place and will definately be returning.

Very well maintained and comfortable. Motorcycle trip w/ the guys and was really convenient to all the place we like to ride. Rained out for 1 day and enjoyed having a great place to relax and be comfortable. Would recommend staying here to anyone that enjoys the mountains.

What an amazing experience!
The house is in a beautiful location close to town. The house was fully stocked and had way more furnishings than expected. Eight of us stayed in the house, 4 adults and 4 kids and there was room for way more guests. The yard is breath taking and so well maintained. We woke up one morning to an elk in the drive way. The kids loved the big hot tub. I absolutely suggest this house for a family get away to Maggie Valley. We also drove an hour and visited pigeon forge and Gatlinburg. The only negative thing I could say about the house is the location does not have to best cell service or internet but the house had dish tv so we were fine and we were still able to use social media and make phone calls. We will definitely be back for a Winter visit to see snow on the mountains.

Maggie Valley hideaway
Very private, with scenic rushing water stream and comfy accommodations. Last two stays included visits from wild turkeys and elk, taking to the owners setting up a feeding area on the property grounds. What a thrill for our kids and us as well to observe these beautiful creatures close up.
