About this house rental
There is a place in the world where time seems to have stopped, where simplicity rules, where peace of mind can be found. Welcome to Molokai, the most Hawaiian of all the islands.
Here on Molokai, one can’t help but be allured by the ruggedness of the world’s largest sea cliffs towering above crystal clear, turquoise waters, or the gentle stretches of untamed beaches, including the second longest beach in Hawaii.
Take a leisurely drive, hike or ride a pack animal through misty rainforests, to the silvery waterfalls, or through royal coconut groves. Watch out for the wild spotted deer, Molokai is a place where authenticity reigns supreme, the only main island in which native Hawaiians are the majority - only 7,000 people live on the island. You will find a warm welcome and friendly conversation among the locals and delight in their stories reaching generations back. See how National Geographic rated it #6 out of 111 islands in an article as it was published in the November/December 2006 issue of National Geographic Traveler Read Article.
Come discover this little corner of the planet and lose yourself in its splendid beauty…or perhaps more accurately, find yourself.
Paniolo Hale is an intimate cluster of condominiums located on the sunset rich west end of Molokai. Densely landscaped and quietly private, the grounds are a tropical garden. The sounds of chirping birds, whistling trade winds and ocean waves will carry you into tranquility. Truly a place of seclusion at its best.
Our two-bedroom end unit, with 1900 square feet, sleeps six, is newly decorated and enjoys garden and partial ocean views. Completely redecorated and furnished, the two-level, two bedroom, two bath condo features a downstairs living room with stereo/CD player, cable television and VCR/DVD player with movies, dining room, a large lanai wrapping completely around two sides, fully equipped kitchen, a downstairs bedroom with two double beds and TV, and full bath. Upstairs is a spacious master bedroom with king-size bed, TV, full master bath and private sundeck. A pull out sofa downstairs can accommodate extra guests. All linens are furnished, as well as boogey boards, snorkel equipment, and beach mats and other amenities.
Within the grounds of Paniolo Hale is an inviting swimming pool, an outdoor shower, and several outdoor grills and dining areas. Unfortunately the Kaluakoi golf course that is directly adjacent to Paniolo Hale has closed along with the Molokai Ranch Hotel. The picturesque shoreline is just steps away where you can enjoy the solitude of the many sugar-sand beaches, including Hawaii’s second longest sand beach, and the breathtaking sunset views famous to the islands.

We loved this place! The screened in porch was incredible and the place was perfect for our family to have time to be together and play games. There were four large beds and the place was tropical and minutes from the beach. We will stay there again. Highly recommended!

This unit has a large family room area with a pass through to the kitchen and a large lanai that wraps around the property with large doors that we never closed when we were there. It was very comfortable.
It may sound funny, but the beds were a real highlight. Not only were they very comfortable, but there was a double bed outside on the screened-in lanai. I slept there every night and woke up with the birds when the sun rose. It was so unique and so great.
The bottom bedroom has 2 beds in it while the upstairs has a king. The upstairs gets hotter during the day, but there is a portable a/c unit in that room that helps cool it down a bit for the hot nights.
We loved this place and would gladly come back.

Internet connection very sketchy even after moving to different areas of house. Sporadic incoming messages and email every few hours beginning at 5:30pm until midnight.
Upstairs shower had no hot water.
Also no instructions for complicated tv.
So due to no WiFi we were cut off from everything.
Other than that we enjoyed celebrating 82yo birthday . It is not a place for seniors.
Mahalo !

The Hale was large and gave the four of us plenty of space. It was clean and had plenty of amenities to make it an easy stay. The beds were comfortable and had a proper kitchen with all that you need .

This trip was perfect. The location of the house was about 25 min from town but had a kitchen to cook in and great space for hanging out. The beach is a quick walk and everyone was so friendly. I wouldn't have changed a thing. We have kids ranging from 8-14 and everyone loved it.

Needs airing out regularly as it was very musty-smelling. After opening all windows & doors for several days, it was much better. Enjoyed our stay.

Condo located in beautifully landscaped and tended complex. It has a very clean and nice swimming area. Folks there were very friendly and the whole place very quiet. The beach is about a 5 minute walk down a slight hill. The unit was nice but slightly dated. It has a wonderful lanai that wraps around 2 sides and is fully screened. A few things like fans only worked at one speed (full speed) and lights (a couple would not come on). The beds were good and the bathrooms very roomy. The upper unit got quite warm in the heat of the day but cooled down enough for sleeping. All in all we enjoyed our stay and enjoyed staying at this unit. The owner was very helpful and responsive.

We have rented in this complex before and enjoyed both times. If you seek a laid back relaxing vacation this hits the spot. This unit was well equipped . I love to cook and the kitchen had everything. When we went on outings there were beach chairs, coolers and other extras that we took along.. The unit itself is close to many beaches which you can walk to, but we also loaded up our rental vehicle when exploring the island. We would recommend this unit to everyone seeking excellent accomodation on an island that seems frozen in time.

B building has the best location for trade winds wonderfully ventilating this unit and feeling removed from the others. Being an end unit is also a plus. Great pool, frequently all to ourselves, well done paintings of fish on the bottom giving the illusion that they're there. The first floor has a one step level change which might be trouble for some people. The maintenance of this unit is not up to what I've seen in other VRBO units: needs painting, some doors need repairs or replacing, the main bedroom closet was piled with stuff that I had to remove just to be able to hang things in it, one smoke detector out of three looks functional, switches for lights and fans are very hard to know what's what. I've owned rentals, so I always care about maintenance. Your past reviews are very positive, so visitors do love being there, that's always good to hear about Hawai'i and Molokai'i.

Our stay at Laura Darke's unit at Paniolo Hale was wonderful. Paniolo Hale is our favorite place to stay on Molokai. Laura's unit is not only comfortable and well-appointed, it's also in a beautiful and semi-secluded spot. Highly recommended!

A great location, up in the trees with a peekaboo view of the sunset. Owner communicates with you quickly. Lots of room. Has beach chairs, cooler, snorkel gear for your use. Very handy! Lovely Molokai never disappoints!

This property was spacious and a great getaway! So close to the beaches in a beautifully secluded part of the island this property was amazing. The wraparound lanai area was perfect for outdoor dining and wonderful sunsets. The rooms were spacious and clean. Would definitely go back again!!

Great townhouse
My entire family loved this place. It has a great wrap around screened in porch where we hung out and ate all of our meals. The place was very well equipped. Great for cooking meals for the entire family. The complex is quite nice with beautiful grounds and a nice pool. There are out door grills and the one next to the pool works better. This place is a very short walk to the beach with some good swimming nearby. The only downside of this property is that it is a 30 min drive to the main town, which has the restaurants and grocery stores. Nevertheless, I would stay here again if I return to Molokai.

Phenomenal property. Although it is remote, we enjoyed it greatly with no complaints from our teens. Good family focused time! We hope to book again for Thanksgiving weekend and bring others!

We love Molokai
Never stayed at Paniolo Hale and it was great! Usually stay at Kepuhi so it was nice to see something new.
The stay was in a beautiful setting but the rental was not as clean as we had hoped. Overall great trip and wonderful location.

Perfect getaway and great value
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Paniolo Hale B4. The unit was very clean and nicely decorated. We enjoyed sleeping out on the lanai every night, listening to the sound of the ocean and waking up to bird song. On clear nights, the view from the upper lanai of the stars is fantastic. The condo is just steps from the beach, which often has monk seals sleeping on it during the day. Laura was quick to respond to our questions and concerns about staying at the condo during the pandemic. It’s the perfect place to go to chill out and relax. We would definitely stay again.

Friends' getaway in paradise
Best one-word description: Lush. Gorgeous condo with so many amenities we didn't want to leave it - even to go to the beach! Best feature was the wraparound screen porch with a lovely view of flowering trees all around. The bedrooms were cozy and comfortable. We had a wonderful time and would return in a heartbeat

Beautiful location!!!
Laura’s unit is situated among the trees above the other units. It’s at the end of the path with peekaboo views of the water, and depending on the time of year, the sunset. The unit’s wrap around lanai has a nice breeze and is lovely to relax on. The upper deck off the bedroom has loungers that are perfect to lie on and stargaze. Short walk to Kepuhi and Make Horse beach make this a lovely unit to stay in!! Mahalo Laura, for sharing you beautiful unit!!

Almost like living in a treehouse!
This corner unit at Paniolo Hale is almost like being outside in a treehouse! There's several large trees on the property, so it feels almost like you're right in the middle of them. The large wrap around lanai (porch) is screened in, so there's no need to worry about bugs, birds, etc., coming into the house. There's several chairs, a dining table, and even a bed out there, perfect for relaxing and listening to the birds. We figured out that the talkative ones are called Frankies. There also were myna birds and even wild turkeys!
There are several beaches within walking distance from the condo. My son tried fishing, but didn't get any bites. There's also a surf spot with nice waves.
Paniolo Hale is the perfect place to relax. So quiet, except for the bird chatter and ocean waves! Hope to be back soon.

Perfect Home Away From Home
We loved everything about our stay there. The kitchen has just what you need- spices, rice cooker, coffee machine/tea pot, dishes/utensils🙌🏼🤗The deck is perfect to hang out on and very comfy; It’s a corner unit so the deck wraps the whole corner🤗It was breezy when we were there and the air flow throughout the house was amazing🤗☺️No air conditioning needed! The bed and bathroom upstairs was perfect after our long days out and about; 🥰❤️We loved everything about this place and because I was able to have this place for the weekend, this rental MADE my trip! What a good way to reset❤️❤️❤️When I’m back in the island, I hope I’m lucky enough to get this rental again☺️

Paniolo Hale
Couldn’t have had a more pleasant stay on the west end at this Paniolo Hale condo. Although COVID restrictions make using the common facilities a bit trickier, there is really nothing not to like about a holiday here.

This condo was very nice and spacious. My family and I are residents on Moloka’i and we enjoyed a nice relaxing weekend. We look forward to staying here again in the future.

Great place to isolate
Spacious unit for a family. The lanai is private, shaded, with a nice cross breeze. The master bedroom is huge and the plumbing is in good shape. A short walk to the beach. When we were there (1/2021) the pool and bbq were closed due to covid and the surf was too big for our level, but the beach walks were phenomenal. The only sad part is the west side is overrun with deer that are starving to death...carcasses everywhere. Which, of course, was fascinating to my teen boys.

My family and I spent our Thanksgiving holiday at this beautiful hale. It was a beautiful and relaxing stay-cation. We are local residence of Molokai but almost rarely get to visit the west end of Molokai. We were able to spend quality time and enjoy what that side of the island has to offer, without driving "too far" . Your home offers all the amenities that we needed to make our stay comfortable and relaxing. The location of the condo is convenient to Kepuhi beach and we were there every day, soaking up the sun and chilling with the Hawaiian monk seals. My teenage daughter named them Ben, Jerry, Ron, and Sally. Cute little buggahs!Mahalo so much for opening up your home to us! We'll definitely be back again!Mahalo nui!
