We make an annual summer trip to PML, and the Wissink’s lovely home allowed us to enjoy another fabulous year! Warren and Ruth provided all the amenities we’d need during our stay as well as excellent communication and resolution for a few outdoor critter visits we experienced. Thank you Warren & Ruth for sharing your home with us. We’d return in a heartbeat.

My family enjoyed our vacation at this property. Everything was good except ants in the kitchen and lack of kitchen stuff such as a strainer.
Still, we want to stay there again next time.

Very thankful for this cabin’s availability when our Yosemite reservations got cancelled last minute. My family had a great time and the owner was very pleasant. Perfect for a family with small children. Overall, we really enjoyed ourselves and the fireplace made for very cozy mornings.

Relax in the treetops
Generally a great getaway property. Location to beach/marina and to grocery store/town was great as well. Quiet neighborhood, lots of birdsong and a few deer. Only a 25 min drive to get to Yosemite entry. Four adults stayed here and it was very comfortable for us. Some minor maintainence/upgrades is needed and ceiling fans would've been great to have. All in all, a comfy and cute place to stay,

Terrific hosts
Warren & Ruth are lovely, very responsive hosts. It was a pleasure doing business with them. The property is walking distance to the lake which is beautifully cared for and a great place for a picnic or some other kind of family time.

Good location
The house is located in the pine mountain resort so you have to pay $40 for each vehicle. The waiting line is quite long due to holiday I guess. The house is a little bit small than we expected, and not so updated. Especially the carpet was not cleaned… kids get their feet dirty by walking on it.. they like the kid beds on the second floor though. Overall not a bad place to stay, we went to a town called Columbia nearby which is very fun to visit.

Overnight Get Away
My husband his brothers and our sister-in-law stayed over night at this cabin and had a wonderful time. After we arrived we went over to Around the Horn brewery and had a few beers and then ordered a pizza and took back to the cabin. It was a relaxing evening get away before our daughters wedding the next weekend. I would recommend this cabin to anyone looking for some quiet time away.

Nice stopover for a small group
Stayed here with some friends for an evening prior to heading into Yosemite. We were able to use the kitchen to prep some meals, and enjoyed a pizza from the local joint out on the deck while the sun went down. Good location / not too deep into Pine Mountain Lake community. We had three cars and were able to fit them all in the driveway. Host was also friendly and attentive despite the fact that we were only staying for a single night.

Nice
Property is perfect for us. Kitchen is a little small but worked. Very clean. My only complaint is that there was no mention of the $40 per car entrance fee to use the facilities. We had 3 families so had 3 cars which was $120 total extra… if we knew of this fee, we would’ve carpooled. Wish they would put it in the description so guests aren’t blindsided.

3 Day Stay
We stayed for 3 days, the location worked well. Driving into the community took some time, but that is due to being peak time and lot of others needed to check in. The house worked well for our needs. Owners were very kind and responsive

Relaxing Stay in Groveland
Our stay in Groveland was overall very peaceful and relaxing. We had a little trouble checking in, but thankfully the owner was able to help us remotely and we could avoid making the long drive home. The cabin was small and simple, but accommodating and well furnished. It was clean, but some of the blankets were dirty and unusable. Groveland and Pine Mountain Lake are very nice, but I recommend checking ahead if you planned on coming for recreation and eating out / takeout. Almost everything in town was closed and all of the PML activities were closed for the season. There was literally nothing to do but sit around and stare at nature, but sometimes that’s all you need.

Cozy but not renovated
We had a few issues during our stay; Warren and his wife were kind and responsive, which we really appreciated. Some of these things were unforeseen so that's just way it goes sometimes.
However, the reason I'm giving the property 3 stars overall is because the pictures and description did not match the reality. Firstly, the home is not "renovated". It has a new paint job and some new kitchen appliances, but otherwise, the kitchen and bathrooms are in original, old, basic quality condition. I was not expecting this - maybe I should have zoomed in on the photos more but when I saw the term "renovating", I assumed the property is modern and fresh - it is not. The living room and dining room have new furniture which help it look new and fresh, but the house is mostly in original condition. For example, I am 5 feet tall and could easily touch the showerhead - the bathrooms are very old and not easy to use is you're taller than me.
Second, the seemingly professional photos use a wide angle lens that makes the house look much larger than it is. Note the square footage - it is a compact space. Only 1 adult can be in the kitchen at a time; you cannot have the dishwasher and fridge open at the same time bc the space is too tight. This isn't a real need - it's just to demonstrate how tight it is.
Lastly, it is not 3 bedrooms. It is 2 bedrooms and a children's loft. This is important to note because the children's room doesn't have a door so all of the noise from the living area travels straight up to where we want the kiddos to be sleeping. Also, one full bath is upstairs in the kids loft and 1 full bath is downstairs in the hallway by the two bedrooms.
Many of the things we realized upon arrival may have been sorted out if we had zoomed in on and inspected the photos really closely, but we didn't do that because at quick glance, the pictures looked great. We are also vacation home owners and our philosophy is to "under promise, over deliver" - our rental looks better in the person than in the nice photos. This property does the opposite - it looks much better in photos than in person and therefore may set people up for disappointment.
In the end, we made the best of it and and made good memories. Warren and his wife are very kind and are learning the vacation home ropes; we wish them the best on this fun journey.

Great location!
We stayed here and the house was perfect. It was so clean and welcoming. We loved the quiet neighborhood. We left during our stay to head to the snow resorts by Twain Harte and it was a quick trip with no traffic.

Nice place, 1hr to Yosemite Valley, responsive owner
Our stay started with an unfortunate problem with the heating. This was a particular disappointment since we had specifically switched to this rental after a heating problem at our first rental in the same neighborhood! Luckily Warren was very responsive and had it fixed the next morning (the propane gas supply had simply run out despite being set-up with an auto-fill order with the gas company). The HVAC is actually a new Nest-based system, so he could tell there was an issue and called before I was about to contact him. I don't think future guests will have the same problem. We elected to stay elsewhere for the first night and he immediately reimbursed us for the night plus extra to cover dinner. The rental comfortably sleeps 4 adults in the main level bedrooms and loft area more suited for 4 children. I just want to mention to potential renters with very young children, the stairs and loft area balcony have rather wide slats that a small child could conceivably fit and fall through. My kids are old enough now to know better, but it still made me a little nervous and it would have made me extremely nervous if I had a toddler. The home is in a large gated neighborhood built around a lake. It has many amenities available in the summer, but not much in the winter. I also want to mention that for all rentals in this same neighborhood, there is a one-time charge for guests at the gate of now $40 (I gather there have been several increases in the last year). I felt the fee was not justified for wintertime since we could not really use any of the amenities, but Warren also kindly reimbursed this cost. I think the fee would be reasonable in summertime assuming you planned time to enjoy the lake and other activities the neighborhood has to offer. It is about a 1/2 hour to the West entrance to Yosemite along 120 (Big Oak Flat Road) and an hour all the way down to the valley.

Great getaway
It was such a great cabin for me and the family. We got to enjoy the great scenery while enjoying breakfast on the large patio and enjoy each other’s company. Definitely recommend to stay here if you like the peace and quite Mother Nature has to offer.

Great location to visit Yosemite
This cabin is a a little gem. We stayed here with another family (8 total) and there were plenty of beds and space for all. Although the kitchen is small, it has all the equipment you need to cook fabulous post hike meals. We would liked to have been closer to Yosemite, however, there is not much between Groveland and the entrance to the park. The hour drive to the valley floor was tolerable given the beautiful landscape and search for wildlife along the way. We really enjoyed coming back to the house and sitting outside on the deck. We would definitely recommend this cabin to friends and family!

Lovely stay
Our family of four and one more couple recently stayed at the cabin. It was a very pleasant stay, not far from the lake (Marina beach), with nature all around us. We truly enjoyed seeing deer come close to the property and even hares. The living room was spacious and allowed all of us to enjoy each other's company without stepping on each other's toes. Having puzzles and games was an extra pleasant plus. The kitchen is tiny though, so it is a better fit for one family. We are also grateful for floats provided as it saved space in the car.
A few rather minor things that would have made more comfortable stay: hooks on the bathroom doors as the bathrooms are small and there are no hooks for clothes or wet towels; a small set of drawers in the loft closet for kids clothes as there are only hangers there, fixing screen doors as they tend to get stuck in their tracks and replacing heavily scratched pots and pans.
Thank you again for your hospitality.

Wonderful cabin in great location
My family and I really enjoyed this beautiful cabin in Groveland. We stayed here 2 nights, as a gateway to visiting Yosemite Park, which is an easy hour drive to get into the valley. The cabin was extremely clean and very functional for our family of 5, including young kids. We loved sitting on the spacious deck for dinner and breakfast, surrounded by beautiful trees and wildlife, including deer. Warren was extremely communicative and helpful, and we definitely plan on staying here again.
You'll really enjoy the place!!

Nice cabin with great owners
We enjoyed our stay in a very cozy cabin in great community. The gated community was very pleasant, and peaceful with great facilities like tennis court and golf course as well as access to beautiful pine mountain lake. The cabin was very clean with new furniture.
Owners are responsive, thoughtful and great folks. I definitely recommend staying in their cabin.

Perfect getaway!
The cabin was clean and nicely decorated as pictured. The owners were kind enough to change my dates due to a last minute conflict I had and there was a generous gift basket of extras for us when we arrived. There were extra toiletries available if needed and the owners were responsive when I had a question. Pine mountain lake community has a lot to offer and the kids had a blast! I would definitely return to the community and this cabin!
