My husband and I used the South Cottage during our wedding weekend. It was the perfect accommodation for what we needed. Kim and Walter were great hosts and made our trip even more special. We wish we could have stayed longer!

We had a great time on Lake Keuka at the South Cottage. The house had everything we needed to enjoy our stay! We would definitely reserve it again.

This cottage is clean, comfy and gorgeous! Two bathrooms, 6 beds, 3 air con units, 8 ceiling fans. A giant covered porch with a lake view with see through sun shades if desired. A screen room, 2 full size fridges, bedding and towels provided. Kitchen stocked with anything you could need. The hosts are very friendly, respond to messages quickly. Kayaks, stand up paddle boards, canoe, floaties, life vests, plenty of paddles, fire pit, gas grill, plenty of outdoor seating options. Boat dock, stairs right into the lake, waist deep. 6-8 minutes to local restaurants. We had a blast, highly recommend.

We arrived Friday evening, and lo and behold Walt was waiting for us at the property! He is super nice and took time to show us all of the ins and outs of the cottage!
Our stay was amazing! The location is certainly second to none - right on the lake. We had ample space for the four of us and commented that we could have easily had another couple along. Beds are comfy and the cottage has everything you need for the stay.
Aside from being right on the lake, you're close to restaurants and shopping in Penn Yan and all of the Keuka Lake wineries!
We will not hesitate to stay here again. Thank you so much for the hospitality and a wonderful weekend!!

Fantastic stay using both cottages for a week! The area in front of the cottages was great for us to gather each night. The location is near town, wineries and many of the local markets.

The cottage was very cute and exactly what we were looking for although not having any bedroom doors came as a surprise. The house was very well furnished with everything we needed, including all the water toys we could have wanted. These folks clearly go above and beyond as hosts and we can’t say enough good things about the charming home and usable property. The only downside came on the second day of the rental when we had some aunts, uncles, and cousins come over for a swim (our large family was in town for a reunion but everyone had their own cottages). The neighbors alerted the hosts, but instead of the hosts asking us about the situation, we got an angry phone call demanding that our family leave immediately. We tried to explain that it was just our family visiting us for a few hours in the afternoon and clearly nobody would be staying over. Ultimately we complied and they left, but it put a damper on the trip for us. We treated the home with the utmost care and respect, and would have loved to rent again next year but the incident left us feeling pretty uncomfortable.

Exactly as described
It is hard to find a property with only a couple of steps inside and/or outside for less mobile, elderly people. This property was perfect for our age range of 15-87. Lovely waterfont, well equipped, great owners and good parking (hard to find the latter on Keuka). We all enjoyed our family time, and the more mobile members swam, kayaked, canoed and paddle boarded - all amenties that were included. Thanks to Tracy, Kim and Walter!

Best Weekend Away!!
Kim and Walter were INCREDIBLE hosts! We were greeted with wine and a tour of the most adorable home. The finishing touches around the house were so up our alley and enjoyed throughout the entirety of our stay. The pictures don't do it justice. Being able to wake up each morning in a quiet spot on the front porch, overlooking the lake was amazing AND having the option to go paddle boarding or kayaking right after breakfast with my friends was icing on the cake. Also located near so many great wineries! Highly recommend staying here! Just a heads up not to bring too many cars though as parking is limited if you want to avoid blocking your view! Thanks Kim and Walter!

Awesome Getaway for our Birthday Weekend!
My daughter and I had our first visit to the Finger Lakes to celebrate her 30th birthday and had a thoroughly enjoyable stay at the Cottages on Kueka! We stayed in the south cottage and took full advantage of the amenities: bicycles (rode the Kueka Outlet Trail), kayaks, paddle board, grill, etc. The place was spotless, beautifully decorated, and very comfortable. The location is perfect: close to wineries on both Kueka and Seneca Lakes, not far from Watkins Glenn to hike the Gorge Trail, and some great restaurants too (we chose FLX Table in Geneva and the Water Street Wine Bar in Penn Yann to name a couple). Check-in and check-out were simple and Kim was very responsive to any questions we had. Highly recommend.

Wonderfully unique experience!
We literally dropped our bags inside the house and spent the 1st 2 hours taking in the lake view with a glass of wine by the lake. Convenient location in a rustic, but maintained and unique property with nice amenities. We’ll be back ... 😊

Beautiful Place
Unlike other larger finger lakes the advantage of this location was that it's a narrower lake, meaning sitting outside the patio you can see not only the lake but as we went in fall.. the fall foliage across the water too. Yes it's an older property but to me that's the charm of places like this. Only caution is that the top rooms don't have the sound privacy as the bedroom walls to the ceiling is not connected. Meaning you will have less sound privacy upstairs. I was fine, just a caution for maybe families renting this one place together.

Awesome property!
Had a great week at the lake. Plenty of dock space for our boat and Jetski. Enjoyed the paddle boards, canoe, kayak and tubes. Kitchen had everything I needed. Second fridge very helpful! Of note, not a lot of privacy upstairs as this has a very rustic feel of a farmhouse. However, ear plugs are provided!

Perfect week at the lake!
Entire experience with the family was great. Owners are a dream to rent from, property has every convenience & is decorated like a true cottage escape. Beyond clean, perfect waterfront access, stunning views, clean water, close to town for anything needed. Sleeping accommodations were comfortable, clean & fits a large family or small group. Rental with a cottage next-door for another family to enjoy with, what more could you ask for! Book it!

The Perfect Getaway
Our stay at the cottages was amazing! The hosts are so accommodating and friendly, and were available for anything we needed help with. The house is absolutely adorable and the location on the lake made it that much better. We went for a weekend getaway and it was everything we needed and more!

A Dream Come True
Kim and Walter are amazing. The property was stunning and my family has already reserved the space to come back again next year. It is perfectly appointed. It's a little private magical getaway and the only reason we left during our 10 day stay was for groceries. The kids said it was better than Disney and we have never had a better vacation - and you know when teenagers say that it's heartfelt. Highly recommend.

Cozy and relaxing cottage experience!
I rented out the South Cottage for a group of girls, and we had a great experience! The owners were very friendly and helpful, they even had a fire started in the fire pit when we came from wine tasting all day. Would definitely recommend to any to stay at this cute cottage!

Lots of memories made
This cottage was everything and more! The owners have a real knack for decorating and including everything that was needed. I would love to come back during the warmer months to use the canoe or kayak. We made good use of the covered porch and the fire pit. The scenery was beautiful too!
We were glad the owners also supplied space heaters and the fireplace helped keep it warm. This cottage is not insulated and not meant for cold weather, but it was perfect for the fall!
They only thing that may surprise you is the ceilings on the second floor is open to all rooms. Also there are no curtains for doors to the bedrooms. This may be a problem if you have little ones, but we had fun with it since we were all adults.
Overall, this is a great, fun place to stay!

East side of Keuka
I really enjoyed my stay at The Cottages on Keuka. The owners were very friendly and the property was everything you would want. Firepit, 2 docks, RIGHT on the water with level beach. Thanks again for making our stay enjoyable!

Wonderful Keuka Lake cottage!
We just spent a week in paradise! We are a family of 4 with 2 teenagers. We hosted lots of friends during the week, and everybody was so impressed with our accommodations! The location is perfect...5 minute drive to restaurants, grocery, drug store, laundry. We loved that we could pull the car right up to the front door to load/unload rather than parking at the top of a long steep set of stairs (as so many of the cottages are). We loved the amenities...kayak, peddleboat, canoe, SUP. So fun for the kids! There is a firepit for nighttime bonfires! The kitchen is well equipped for meal preparation. Thank goodness for the air conditioning units upstairs and down, as it was very hot while we there. The A/C kept the house comfortable. There is a refrigerator on the screened porch which was great for our soda/water/beer...easy to grab a drink without having to walk through the cottage to the kitchen. The owners are great and responded immediately to questions! We can't wait to go back!!

Bachlorette Weekend
The Cottages on Keuka Lake not only met my expectations but were by far exceeded. Kim and Walter were absolutely wonderful hosts in many ways – friendly, laid back and informative about the area-- they suggested certain restaurants and wineries that were favorited by locals, quick to communicate regarding any questions that arose during the weekend, and just in general wonderful people. Check-In and Check-Out was very simple, Kim and Walter even have a bottle of local wine chilling upon arrival (A+++). The property itself has an AMAZING lake front view, perfect for sunsets, sunrises (and photo ops) in addition to being spacious for parking (i.e. we had four vehicles). A canoe, kayak and bikes among other outdoor amenities were provided (and used!). The cottages were within short distances of wineries on the trail. Keuka Spring Vineyards and Rooster Hill Vineyards are within a mile from the property and area transportation is available for travel around the Fingerlakes area. The cottage itself is clean, open and very homey. Ceiling fans and AC are perfect to keep the residence nice and cool; all the appropriate linens (towels, bed sheets, wash clothes) are provided. This HomeAway rental was one of the best properties I have ever stayed at for all of the above reasons. I absolutely recommend this rental for those in need of a relaxing, low key weekend with the desire to tour the wine trail and enjoy lake view scenery.

Relaxing stay in the finger lakes
Our family of 6 adults + 2 babies + 2 dogs recently stayed at this rental property and had a fantastic experience during our stay. It was my first time using VRBO, and couldn't have been happier.
Both Walter and Kim are incredibly friendly hosts and fantastically interesting people. We all really enjoyed speaking with both of them upon our early arrival. Walter gave us a walkthrough of the house, and everything looked exactly as pictured in the photos. Making it even better, as you walk in the house you're hit with a relaxing peppermint fragrance (which apparently keeps bugs away!).
We also really enjoyed all of the water activities. Despite the cold water, we spent a lot of time on the paddle board, canoe, and kayak. One of the greatest things about this house is that it's about 20-40 feet from the lake with completely unobstructed views of the water.
The sunsets are insanely impressive. During our stay the sky glew a firey orange and reflected off of the completely still lake.
The kitchen had everything we needed to make simple roasts and very complicated mexican dishes for the entire group. We ended up eating at the house for the majority of our meals.
As noted in some of the other reviews, the house is certainly old! The upstairs bedroom walls do not connect to the ceiling. Someone in a different room can hear you as if their next to you. This did not bother us in the least, since we're always in each others business anyways, but if you're looking for a lot of privacy then this could be a problem.
As far as the area goes, everything you need is nearby. Tons of great wineries in the area, a fantastic hike and waterfall nearby on a trail that starts in Penn Yan, and a major grocery store within minutes. We didn't explore restaurants on this visit.
We all left the cottage at the end of our stay completely relaxed and looking forward to future stays. Enjoy your time in the Finger Lakes!

The perfect rustic getaway!
My wife and i knew we wanted to get away for our 10 year anniversary, and with logistics, timing, closeness, we chose the Finger Lakes as our place. We searched and searched and searched until we stumbled upon the Cottages on Keuka...boy did we hit a home run. If you are looking for an exclusive lakeside get away for you and a significant other, this is the place.
The cottage is super rustic and very quaint. The pictures do it justice. Perfectly decorated with all the amenities you would need for a romantic getaway. The South Cottage was built in the 1800s I believe, and it still carries that charm despite having all electrical and plumbing updated. Kim was very upfront with us about the Cottage not being insulated. Despite it getting into the low 30's for our stay...we were never cold. The space heaters and gas fireplace are more than adequate if you decide to stay in a colder month. (Besides....its adds to the experience!)
The dock on the water looked like it was in great shape. We didn't use it much due the weather but looks like it would be great to use in the summer.
Note, since its a very old cottage, the bedrooms are separated by walls, but the walls don't reach the ceiling. Might not be your thing if your staying with a bunch of folks and looking for complete privacy.
Very rarely do we leave from a vacation not wanting to go home. This was one of those.
An awesome experience we hope to have again in the future! Book it!

FANTASTIC!
My 3 girlfriends and myself stayed for our 50th birthday weekend. Cabin was wonderful and the view was priceless. The owners answered all of our questions quickly before our trip and they made sure to let us know they were available to us during our entire stay.
Highly recommended. The house had everything you could need and was very clean. Lots of chairs by the lake and on the deck which allowed us to enjoy the entire day.

Mixed feelings
Spectacular location on Keuka lake. There are two cottages next to each other. One is a ranch style, one is a two story, vintage cottage. My family stayed in the vintage two story. I was disappointed the upper bedrooms don't have individual ceilings and doors, I consider it relevant information.
