A lovely stay in Margate

The host was very welcoming. The room was bright, clean and very comfortable. Nice decor, and great view of the garden area. The location was on a quiet residential street about a 10 minute walk from the centre of town and close to the seafront. Perfect.

Bed was restful and shower was good.

Ian the host was super friendly, nothing too much trouble and was very accommodating with my pet dog Pinto, even allowing him run around his garden… very good gratis continental breakfast selection. I will return, as we were both made very welcome.

Perfect location, host, and great value for money!

Perfect location to walk into town, took us about 10 mins or less. The breakfast was really yum too and we felt well looked after. The room was a great size and perfect for two travellers.

One night work trip

The host was very kind and the room was comfortable and warm. (Good because the weather was freezing!) the breakfast was fab too- home cooked with lots of options and access to the dining area at all times of day. My room had a desk where i could work and the wifi was fast. Also tv with netflix was nice but i didnt get time to use it but sure i would have done on another trip.

Very relaxing and a nice break between Xmas and new year

Was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Jim the proprietor was very welcoming and informative. Parking easy in the road outside plus on site. Handy base for exploring east Kent. Would 100% recommend and return if in the area

Great stay

What's not to like, host Jim was fab, room was lovely, bed was comfy, breakfast was great!

The ferocious wind rattled the windows on the first night and bathroom was a bit cramped due to the low apex ceiling but neither of these things are the fault of the owner so really no complaints!

Comfortable place and warm host

Shenandoah House was very comfortable. The room is spacious and clean; breakfast was generous. We were greeted warmly and offered snacks and space to eat. A nice beach is 5 mins east walk away; the train station is also very close. Well recommended.

Great host. Really friendly and helpful. Good breakfast. Good bed, very comfy and nice room. Good location as very short distance to the beach promenade.

There was only one thing, the shower didn't work very well in the morning. It kept going cold and at one point didn't seem to want to work at all. I think it was because the water pressure was low and my room was at the top of the house. My friend had the same issue in her room but she did shower the previous evening and there was no issue. I guess it's just the early morning rush.

Superb

Jim owner of the property was really kind and friendly 😊. Breakfast was cheap and good range. Kids Breakfast was free. Will definitely visit again. Highly recommended 👌

Staying in Margate is pricey. Best price I could find and enjoyed my stay.

Location is a little beyond the centre but a nice walk along the front for breakfast is possible to avoid the busy road. Though I didn't partake the breakfast offer at Shenandoah it looked like a good offer in a spotless breakfast room. My room was basic but clean with a shared bathroom adjoining. Very close to a late opening Tesco Metro.

This is a semi detached house in an ordinary suburban street which I wasn't expecting. From the outside it doesn't look that appealing but don't be put off - clean, cosy and welcoming inside.

Couldn’t recommend this place more!!

Mick was super friendly and accommodating with letting us leave our luggage there earlier in the day until our room was ready. We unfortunately didn’t get to enjoy the breakfast as we had to leave early in the morning but it looked like there was going to be a good spread. The bed was one of the comfiest I have slept in in a while with my favourite type of sheets so I slept like an absolute baby. Mick was also kind enough to call a taxi for us in the morning as we were having trouble getting one. Both the bedroom and bathroom were sparkling clean and you can tell the property is well-maintained. Location was great and was only a short walk to the beach and a Tesco around the corner. I wish we were staying longer to appreciate this place more.

Perfect location and host

Jim the host immediately made myself and my 10 year old daughter very comfortable such a lovely guy. The room was very clean and accommodated all our needs. The room was perfect for stays with children as there were bunk beds also made up so she could choose either one. We had the sea view room and the b&b was 5 minutes from the beach. We only stayed one night but Would definitely come back to stay. The next day Jim said we could leave our bags there while our and about which was ideal as checkout was at 11. We returned later in the day tk collect them. Breakfast was lovely the full English we had and set us up for the day. Do not hesitate to book if you want a friendly host who goes out of his way, a great location and a very comfortable stay.

Very good

Friendly, helpful staff, made me feel welcome. Cooked more hot food for my buffet breakfast despite me arriving towards the end of the service period. Good location within walking distance of the town. Free on-street parking in addition to the limited on-site parking. The photos don't do it justice.

Room wasn't quite ready at 3pm as advertised (the floor was very wet still - at least it'd been washed, lol) so had to wait eg 30 mins. The en-suite was in the roof so you couldn't stand up fully when you got up from the toilet unless you did it sideways (and gents would need to be side-on). Similarly, getting out of the bath / shower needed a bit of thought. Still better than sharing facilities though. The dining room is small so if you go to breakfast at a popular time, you'll probably have to share a table.
