Nice place. Had fun!

We had a wonderful time at this Tucson very large home and rented for 2 months. The sunsets over downtown were spectacular even with unfortunate weather.
The house is in need of some updating and is being done per the owner as funds become available. Anyone owning a home understands.
The beds in the bedrooms were very very comfortable with brand new mattresses.
We loved this neighborhood also….very quiet, beautiful homes, and nicely paved roads.
Thanks to Yvonne and Billy for sharing their home.

This home is an amazing place to get away for some quality relaxing time. There are groceries and restaurants close by, however a short 15 minute drive further into Tucson opens up a plethora of amazing options from budget friendly to elegance. The views from the home are spectacular and the rugs and paintings of the home provide a very warm feeling that more updated "modern" environments lack in my opinion. If you are wanting to stay in a home that is updated in every sense, "ready to sell", and perfect in every way this may not be for you. But if you are looking for a beautiful place to meet up with friends and or family and spend some time in a great neighborhood with a lovely pool and even lovelier views, this is the home for you. This home has been described by some people as "lived in", I however wouldn't hesitate to rent it again on our next visit to Tucson, provided Yvonne and Billy would have us back. We really enjoyed our stay.

Absolutely beautiful property with stunning views of the Mountains and of the city! Very close to the local grocery and restaurants. Not very far from Sabino Canyon, Tanque Verde Falls and Sajuaro National Park East. Extremely easy check in and hosts were great! If I’m ever in Tucson again, I would definitely love to stay again!!

The good: the view! Great outdoor space right outside the living room and below by the pool; the location, up in the foothills, very convenient location. The bad: this house is really tired. Hasn't been cared for / kept up in a long time. The ugly: the place was really dirty. Dog hair on furniture, orange carpet with Rugs over it, pretty sure hadn't been cleaned in a while. Light fixtures were full of dirt and dust, toaster oven hadn't been cleaned after many uses. Grill was filthy. Bathroom faucets were crusty. Every closet and drawer had junk in them. An old shoe, a broken TV, old curtain rods, used drapes, used masks in bathroom drawer, etc.

The house was very nice and well layed out but could use some up dating.
It is well situated for going out hiking and other excursions. It is also close to shopping and restaurants. We happened to go to Tucson when it actually snowed there…..unexpected but we still had fun.

Disappointed the pool had no heat,we planned on a few days to relax. Also the stairs rails to pool were very unstable and some of our party couldn't make it down around the over grown cactus. Many of the plugs in the house either didn't work or the plugs fell out of the wall. The fire pit had no gas and was unable to be enjoyed because of scary stairs. Nice property in need of update

This property was as described. The pool is beautiful and even though it was too cold to actually enjoy, much to my grandchildren's dismay, our family spent lots of time in the pool area. Come to find out, most people do not heat their pools in January in Tucson as it is extremely expensive. The property owner led us to believe that heating the pool was possible, but after my cancelation date had passed we found that it was not ever going to be heated as some major repairs were going to be needed in order to make that happen. The barbecue grill needed special attention as well. The propane tank attachment was leaking and had to be monitored or your propane was going to disappear rather quickly. Similar issues with the fire pit table. It looked nice but needed mechanical maneuvering to get it to work. Coffee pot needs to be replaced and some plumbing issues needed to be addressed but we still had a wonderful stay. The beds are all comfortable and there was plenty of linens and towels. There are even two large sofas that will work as beds if needed. The house is awesome but has been seriously neglected for some time. Thank goodness my husband is good at fixing things and making them work. That is a requirement when renting this property.

Desert Heaven
The property was perfect for our two families to have a wonderful home base for our Tucson Adventures. The owner was super responsive and kind. The privacy, backyard, and lots of room to spread out made this place just perfect.

Fine, besides the cleanliness.
Overall, this location was as expected with exception to the cleanliness. Upon first move in, I reached out to the host immediately regarding the dead cockroaches and mouse poop found in the kitchen cabinets (and dead roaches throughout the house). I requested the house get a thorough clean, since we would be living there for 6 weeks. I was told I would have to pay the manager for a clean, since there was no cleaning-during-stay on the listing (despite this being brought up during initial move in). When I replied that the kitchen and house should’ve been cleaned prior to move in, I was told that I shouldn’t expect every cabinet to be deep cleaned (I disagree) and that I shouldn’t complain because she let me move in early (I really appreciate this, but don’t think it has anything to do with the cleanliness of the property). I was extremely frustrated by this conversation, because the host was very kind before and after the stay. For the first week we found/killed cockroaches daily— after reaching out to the host again, she did send Truly Nolan who sprayed the place for us. While I believe a quick wipe down clean is done between guests, it is very clear the house hasn’t been deep cleaned in months or years. All of our allergies severely worsened anytime we were in the house for several hours (my friend required extra allergy medication during this 6 weeks).
The rest of the review: the furniture was outdated, but the photos online show that accurately so we had no problem with this. We are a group of medical students, so we were happy to find a house we could all have our own space for a decent price. The backyard and view is beautiful. The neighborhood is pleasant and great for walking. Prior to move in, the host was easy to communicate with and was very accommodating.
Overall, the house was as expected and worked for what we needed. My major complaints are the cleanliness issue and (in my opinion) the rude interaction with the host when I brought up a reasonable request.

Fall Golf Trip
This place was perfect for our party of 4 "senior 60-something" guys on our annual Fall golf trip to AZ. Everything as advertised. The sunset view from the pool/deck was fantastic, while we were basking in the 85-90F sunshine!. Great place, great communication with Yvonne. Would definitely stay there again!

Relaxing Time
What a great time we had just relaxing by the pool. Went during the Monsoon season and still had fun. Played ping pong when it rained, watched movies and played games. Lots to do around the area and the host had great suggestions on food and hikes. I would come back again.

Property is misrepresented on VRBO
For sure, there are liability issues at this property that the owner is not taking care of. The stairs going down to the pool are steep and the handrails are broken and hanging from the walls. The actual steps in to the pool, the final step, is sloped and so (without any warnings to occupants) your last step slips your foot out from under you and you fall back into the steps. The electrical work done outside of the house is questionable, as zip cord has been used (thats two wire, neutral and hot NO GROUND) to wire exterior lighting. Wiring to the pool light switch was exposed and just sticking out of the switchbox.
Beyond that we found the property to be in a general state of poor maintenance. Electrical plugs don't work, switches don't turn things on, doors are missing, dead brush and rotting plants are around the property. The pool lights don't work, the outdoor lights around the pool don't work save for one, that has an extension cord running up to the house where you have to plug it in to get one bulb lit around the pool area. The pictures listed on VRBO show a nice wooden gazebo area - that thing is falling down on itself and has a DANGER sign and brush thrown about it.
I can say the house has a beautiful new roof, and it has a very nice view, but that's about it.
We would have taken a refund and checked into a hotel after the first night we were so unhappy, we actually ended up leaving a day early and eating a night we paid for because we didn't like the property and dreaded staying there another day.
We would not book this property again.

Quiet Place in Tucson with Lots of Room
Overall this was a good place to stay with my family. The neighborhood is very quiet and the property is not near a major road. There were good bedrooms with decent beds and lots of pillow choices which we appreciated. The kitchen is decently stocked, plenty of fridge and freezer space and several areas for dining. The pool isn't heated and it was cool the week we went so we didn't try the pool out, but it looked nice. Our kids really enjoyed the ping pong table and the large amount of outdoor space to explore. There was one very odd thing about one of the master bedrooms which might be problematic for some people. There is no door between the master bedroom and the master bath. This makes using the bathroom impossible or at best awkward if someone else is in the bedroom. It functionally made the master bathroom unusable for almost everything but brushing teeth and washing hands.

Nice neighborhood, kind of hilly roads. Quiet place with large pool deck to relax on. 5 bedrooms with very comfortable beds and pillows. The big shower in the master bedroom was really nice. Two stoves and refrigerators in the full kitchen. Shopping and restaurants are close. The area is very friendly to cyclists, which is why we were there. Big TVs in every room with internet. 6 of us stayed there and we had a lot of space. Owner was very friendly and helpful.

Outstanding location and beautiful house and views
Staying in the foothills in this house was a fantastic way to spend a few days while we enjoyed Tucson. The house is a little dated but fantastic! We thoroughly enjoyed our time there!

Peaceful desert setting!
This home was clean, met all of our needs, and is in a wonderful location! Other reviews talk about the place being dirty and giving less stars because of being “old”... I say “Get Real People!” This is a 1970’s home, and if you are so uppity that you can’t handle a home that is a bit dated, even though it is comfortable and in a perfect location, then I suggest you just move along and find something else. The kitchen has everything you need. The place is really easy to access and Yvonne is prompt with any communication needed. I do wish the pool had the option to be heated, even if having to pay extra per night to heat it. But the value for this home is amazing!

Great Location
We enjoyed our stay at this property. The house is very roomy. It is older but is charming and has character. Yvonne is nice, responsive, and easy to work with. The setting in the neighbor is excellent and feels very private. We would stay here again!

excellent week
We thoroughly enjoyed our week here. We loved the location, the views, the proximity to hikes and access to tennis courts. 5+ stars to Yvonne for being an excellent host. We especially appreciated the small things like paper towels, napkins, extra towels, ping-pong balls, etc, well stocked.
There is no question the house is dated, in need of some updates and the pool was around 68-70 degrees that week, but the house was clean and served us well.

Mixed bag
Location/scenery-excellent. Main house (bedrooms/linens/comfort and living room, dining room, patio, pool area) great. Outside garden area was unkempt and overgrown. Extended pool area which is in disrepair and dangerous was not adequately closed off. Cleanliness was fine except for kitchen which was unacceptable. I called Yvonne with each concern and sent pictures for proof. Her responses to some requests were fair/negative at best. Our reasons for leaving-the pandemic, all things closed in Tucson; need to be in our home, state and medical were countered with we were over reacting. We have pictures of everything mentioned. All were sent to Yvonne while there and after we arrived home. We sent written concerns to her. We have copies of all. The accurate dates of our stay were March 1 - Wednesday, March 18. We left early March19 and notified Yvonne when we left.

Great location! Spacious home!
The outdoor spaces in the backyard are special - with great views and nice pool (unfortunately since the pool is not heated, it was too cold to swim). Spacious rooms inside; perfect for three couples for a four day golfing stay.
