very disappointing, not suitable for families with babies

Aesthetically beautiful hotel with a gorgeous pool area. Rooms were nice and it was very clean. Food at non-buffet restaurants was much nicer than the buffet.

We were very disappointed with our stay at the Gennadi Grand resort. It was our first family holiday with a three month old baby and we were assured the hotel could cater for an infant. The hotel is huge (hundreds of rooms) in a spread out village style and we were allocated the room furthest away from the main pool area and restaurants. It was a ten minute walk each way with no shade whatsoever between the buildings. This was completely unsuitable for our needs with a baby and so we asked straight away if we could move as it was almost impossible to move in the sun and heat during the day between the room and the main areas. For three whole days our request was ignored by the hotel staff. The front desk staff were completely unhelpful and unsympathetic to our problem, and multiple times we were told ‘there isn’t a manager working today’ (hard to believe for a popular hotel with thousands of guests) and shrugged off with ‘someone will contact you’. They didn’t get in touch with us and they did nothing to accommodate our request to move rooms, which sadly meant that we spent thousands of euros on a holiday that we struggled to enjoy because of our room location. Only at the end of our trip did we receive small gestures to apologize for their bad service. We would expect a lot more from a five star hotel, which this certainly is not. There are barely any shaded areas by the pool (small umbrellas) or in any parts of the swimming pools, which is important for kids playing in the pool/sitting in the pool area. The entertainment was also loud, not good and went on until 11pm every night.

Nige relaxing stay

Great hotel with nice, clean rooms. The yoga class every morning was great, and the teacher was very nice.

The only problem was that the rooms are not well insulated. We could hear the concert every evening until 23:00 from outside, and we could also hear people from other rooms.

Exceptional Food

The food at Gennadi Grand Resort is exceptional. The executive chef's creations were delicious and beautifully presented. The room was comfortable and had a beautiful view. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Amazing

The rooms were spacious and modern, with stunning views of the sea. We loved the open-plan bathroom design, adding a touch of elegance to our stay. The variety of activities, from tennis to bike rentals, ensured there was never a dull moment. Plus, the buffet breakfast was a delicious start to each day

Perfect hotel for beach vacation

Personal was very friendly and helpful, the spa owner is very welcoming and nice to talk to. The beach is not crowded, the water is clear and perfect to swim. The food was delicious.

If you don’t rent a car there are not that many things to do outside of the hotel.

Top hotel, truly 5-star service and facilities.

The hotel is very modern with tons of facilities for every taste. There is a variety of very decent restaurants and bars. The staff is extremely helpful and polite. Rooms are very spacious, with top of the line amenities. Breakfast buffet has everything you can imagine.

All were great, nothing to mention here.

Recommended resort, some issues to get a "10" grade

Room size (we had 3 different types), amenities in the room, beds, breakfast and dinner (variety, taste) ,restaurants , beach, private pool and chairs, front desk representatives

In order to get higher grade (mainly intended to the management) :1) Sewer opening in the toilette (all our rooms) spreed bad smell in the toilette room. 2) Replying to requests - asked the "attraction desk" representative some information, although promised to get back to us-we are still waiting. "Do not disturb" sign was not respected by the cleaning staff (3 different cases). 4) Sea&pool towels "system" is inconvenient (to say the least)-"take & return point" must be next to the pool and the beach. 4) Some rooms with private pool are situated next and exposed to the public (meaning other guests marching in the resort) so no privacy while in your pool....

A perfect place to visit Rodas

A real 5 stars hotel, all new with fine modern design, good service and all you can need. We travel on our 20th aniversary and mentioned in advance to the hotel in the comments. When we arrived, they upgrade our reservation to a room with pool with views to the garden and leave some details in the room. Probably best hotel I was in the last 5 years. Breakfast is very good, with many options and being full the hotel, we have no safer as the place is very big and well dimension.

If we have to mention something, we tryed to book a restaurant for the dinner but it was imposible on the days we stay there. Rest was perfect!

Good place but can become great with some minor changes

Gennadi Grand Resort is a new building and it is visible from the decor, the interiors and the various facilities which are all top notch. The rooms were very spacious and comfortable. The facilities including restaurants and swimming pools were ample.

However the resort could do better in the following areas: 1. If anything is on the menu, please do make sure all the ingredients are available and it can be served. A number of items in the bar were never available despite being on the menu 2. Be a bit more flexible with the pool restaurants. The Wet Bar and Ole are served by the same kitchen but they don't serve items from one menu in the other (for e.g item in Wet Bar menu will not be served for those in Ole) 3. I would have expected to see more of traditional Greek cuisine served in the restaurants. There were hardly any Greek food served

The food was amazing, both buffet and restaurant options; beds are very comfy to a point it’s very hard to get out of bed in the morning. Main pool is crowded, but there’re plentu of other options, and there was also lots of space on the beach.

The hotel is in the middle of nowhere; the sea is a little cold in that part of the island and you need special shoes to get into the water. There’s also not much enterntaiment, but it wasn’t a problem for us

Ok but wouldn’t go again

Room & pools were nice & food was generally quite good

Reception staff were very unhelpful, excursions and transfers booked through hotel were at very hiked up prices and very bad. Everything at the hotel had to be done via an app which didn’t work and wait times for drinks were huge and many times didn’t come. Room was cleaned however toiletries weren’t restocked. Had an issue on first night due to flight cancellation and our booking wasn’t joined up as per emails before arrival, so we weren’t allowed dinner on the first night. Not enough facilities for a near capacity hotel, everything was very busy and you couldn’t get a sun bed etc. Electrics failed one night so no air con or lights for several hours. Nothing in local area & very long transfer from airport (not an issue for some people but due to the issues we wanted to get away some days). Airport transfer was 45 mins late and we had to rush for the plane on the way back. WiFi in our room did not work despite asking several times for it to be fixed. No cold water or beer at any bars for most of the week due to technical issues. Overall definitely not 5 star service.

Beautiful oasis

The staff were lovely and the place was beautiful. Rooms were of excellent standard and the entertainment was subtle but very nice.

The food options at lunch were not very fresh. I also didn’t appreciate that the cooking staff which were visible to the guests left their masks down while cooking during pandemic times.
