Location was easy to drive to, free parking on street. The place is super architectural and really quiet. We loved the enormous glass doors and modern design. Host was lovely and met us on the spot he lives next door so easy to do key handover and a tour. Place was very clean and minimalist, we enjoyed the high ceilings and the bathroom skylight. It was lovely to have a big two-storey space with kids and not be in the centre of Lisbon. We caught the ferry and bus over to Lisbon and found it super easy to walk to the ferry (5 minutes). The local town had some cute restaurants and supermarkets. We also drove around and explored nearby beaches and found there was heaps to do either side of the water. 3 night here was good amount of time.
The reviews are accurate - the place was minimalist and lacking basic essentials, so I brought soaps, shampoos, toilet paper, and tea towels. The kitchen was beautiful but a bit impractical and hard to cook without hitting your head on the shelf over the sink, if you're tall. The kids kept playing on the stairs or trying to go outside, and there was a drop from each glass door to the yard (no steps) so no outdoor dining area which was a shame in the heat! A pergola would have been perfect. There was also a set of basement stairs from the yard going under the house without a railing so we were pretty worried about our one-year-old toppling over the edge when she went in the yard. Probably not the ideal house for kids under 4, although the concrete floor was awesome.
Lisbon was experiencing a heat wave 28 degrees when we arrived (end of April) - the place was cool with the thick walls downstairs but no air-conditioning, so any hotter would be unbearable during the day upstairs and you had to keep the windows closed to keep the heat out. There was a breeze at night but we noticed mosquitos so we had to keep the doors fairly well closed with only a small gap (no flyscreens). Blinds weren't fully dark at night so if you're used to block-out shutters to sleep you will find it a bit lighter than ideal. Also, the town is a bit of a shipping port so it wasn't quite as tranquil and beautiful as I hoped - need to drive to find a pretty beach. It sounds like a lot of negatives, it wasn't bad, I just didn't fully relax here with our kids and the heat.

Relatively calm area, a few small shops and gas station nearby. Duplex is space and have enough place for a family with two kids, very clean. Good garden view.
WiFi signal is weak in some areas (did not work on the second floor, first floor - you need to find a place to make a call). Hint - the kitchen table is the best spot ;).
No soap in bathroom - not a big deal, just strange. Almost no tools to clean apartment and there is no any regular cleaning while you stay - its not clear how the host sees a solution.

Very confortable apartment, up to 5 people. Quite place but near Lisbon, about 30 minutes far from the centre of the city by using public trasportation. The host is polite, nice, always available to help, give advice about restaurants and places to visit.
This solution is the perfect balance due to visit Lisbon and have a relaxable holiday.
