Beautiful new cabin less than 1 mile from Moutardier Marina & Recreation Area and just a 20 minute drive from the entrance to Mammoth Cave National Park. (You will have to drive further into the park to access tours, visitor center, etc.) There is no dock access from the cabin but there is a lake path that will take you to an access point where you can kayak, canoe, and fish. The home is in a private wooded area and the two large covered porches and large windows make it easy to enjoy the setting and see local wildlife. The back porch is screened in and features a stone wood burning fireplace. All of the bedrooms have premium mattresses, sheets, and towels so you can get a good night's rest after a long day on the lake, on the trails, or exploring mammoth cave. The home has premium appliances, lighting, and is well finished throughout. It's our "Sweet Retreat". We think you'll love it too.

This is third time we’ve stayed here and we love it. The cabin is very clean and spacious. We spend most of our time on the back deck with the fireplace burning. It’s in a nice gated community and only a short walk to the lake.

The property was beautiful inside and out! Loved that it was so accommodating for my 3 year old along with my older children. We enjoyed being away from it all while still enjoying the comforts of home.

This property is just what we needed after the craziness of Gatlinburg. The property is located in a cul du sac in the woods with plenty of space to play. We LOVED the screened in firepit. All the beds were comfortable and the house was very clean.
You are a bit of a drive from stores, so make sure you bring what you need. It's a great option to stay if you are visiting Mammoth Cave.

Fantastic trip!
Everything about the house was great, no complaints whatsoever. We’ve rented several properties at Nolin but this was by far the best. We’d absolutely rent it again!

Perfect quiet getaway
We had a great visit to the area for spring break hiking, caving, and relaxation. Very comfortable home and the back porch was great rain or shine- we had a fire and movie every night after dinner! If we are in the area again this is where we will stay.

Great place
We enjoyed our stay very much. It’s a great house, very comfortable and clean. It is advisable to bring your own food. Restaurants and stores are scarce. The porch with fireplace is cozy. We enjoyed a fire, watched tv and snuggled. Thanks for a great stay!

The Sweet Get Away
Our time in this Sweet Retreat was just lovely. Jason and Christina responded quickly to all of our correspondences, the house and grounds were beautiful and super clean, and the weather was warm and sunny. We would definitely visit again in the future. Thanks so much!

Nice short trip with our family
We had a nice time at this house. It was reasonably close to Mammoth Caves and pretty location. I bet it is beautiful in the summer. The lake was already at least 9 foot lower at the time if our stay in early December, so not much to see at the end of the muddy walk, but it's a nice walking path. Due to the weather, we didn't end up spending much time outside, but the dark sky did make watching the meteor shower amazing. It does look like there will be more houses built in the near future, so construction could interrupt the peaceful quiet.

What a great stay!
Our family hasn’t spent thanksgiving together in three years. We decided to meet in the middle at this wonderful cabin for a family vacation. Two of the three couples have kids from 9 months to 6 years. The cabin is spacious and the outside areas are amazing. The porch with the fireplace was well used. Being thanksgiving week we didn’t do a lot of activities in the area but we did go to Lincoln’s birthplace, which was really great learning experience and some time spent outside. We also went to the closest distillery which was a lot of fun. There’s a lot of trails, hiking and great outdoor activities which would differ depending on the season.
I did bring a lot of cookware because I was cooking thanksgiving dinner but had it been a normal week of cooking family meals and such I wouldn’t really have needed all of my own things. There are plenty of plates, pots and pans, silverware and even unbreakable plates that can be used outside or for the kids.
Make sure you bring bath soap, shampoo, blow dryers, which I’d do anyway. A small amount of laundry soap and dishwasher soap was also provided. Trash bags, toilet paper and paper towels were abundant.
Thank you for a wonderful week with my family! I highly recommend this cabin.

A Great Weekend in the Woods
We had a wonderful time at this sweet cabin. It was newly built, had a great layout, and all of our basic needs for a weekend away. We especially enjoyed the outdoor fireplace!

Great Place
We enjoyed out stay at the Sweet Retreat. The beds were very comfortable and the back porch was great. It was a great place to be if you are into bird watching. We also saw 3 deer. It was a very nice cabin and suited all our needs. I wish there was a hot tub, but it was still great.

Beautiful House in the Woods
We had a wonderful time sitting on the screened porch, roasting marshmallows and giggling in the bunk beds (the kids). The location is very remote, but we were informed ahead of time and brought all the food and drink we needed for the weekend. The kitchen is well stocked with flatware, spices, etc. The nicest touch was a big bag of ice that was provided for us to use for packing up and taking extra food home! The house was very clean with very nice décor and bedding. The adults beds were amazingly comfortable (the best I've had in any VBRO place!) A few tiny things would make this place complete - hair dryers, a few nice couch throw blankets, more bath towels (I generally use two (one for head and one for body), wasp bug stray (for the 2 that came into the screened porch, and kitchen counter cleaner). They provided TP, hand soap and plenty of paper towels which was very nice to have. All in all, we loved the place and would rent again. The owners are very responsive.

Beautiful property and a great vacation
Stayed a few days with 4 adults and 4 kids and had a blast. Plenty of room and the house is very clean and spacious. Screened in deck and fireplace was great after the lake and everyone loved the fire pit and s’mores in the evening. The house is new with all the amenities we could ask for. Property is secluded and you have all the privacy you could want. Really appreciated the cut firewood ready for use at the fire pit! Everyone loved the stay and I highly recommend it!!!

The house was perfect for the family (5 adults and 3 kids) and in a perfect location. It's 30-45 minutes from all the major attractions in the area (Mammoth Cave, Nolin Lake State Park, Cave City attractions, etc.) and also has plenty of room at the house to enjoy spending time together. We recommend this property and area as it's a private neighborhood, direct access on a path to the lake, and very clean.Just as an FYI, we aren't sure if it was the time of year, area, or what, but watch for ticks as we removed multiple during our stay.

Great home, well-equipped and decorated.
The home was clean, new, well-decorated, and comfortable. It definitely fit our family of 7 well, and delivered a relaxing experience. Overall it was well equipped! They had a few board games, which my kids enjoyed. The only issue we had was with the top bunk bed—it moved so much, that we didn’t use it the second night.

Relaxing Retreat
We had an amazing and relaxing time in the lake house. It was very clean and comfortable. Everything we needed and more. Location was perfect for our Mammoth Cave tour. We were looking for a place to just relax and escape the busy city life and the lake house was perfect. Even though it rained most of the time we were there, we could still enjoy the peaceful surroundings and sit on the enclosed porch by the fireplace and play board games. We would love to stay here again.

Comforts of home in the country
We really enjoyed our stay at the Sweet Retreat. Our party included me and my husband, our kids (11 & 15) and my husband's parents. The couch and the tables were large enough to accommodate all of us and there were plenty of beds.
The master bedroom was very comfortable and had plenty of closet and drawer space. The master bathroom was very nice as well. My inlaws stayed in one of the queen bedrooms, and our son stayed in the other queen bedroom. Our daughter enjoyed the bunk room. All of the bedrooms were spacious and had room to store clothing and personal items. The carpet was very plush. There are no ceiling fans in the upstairs bedrooms (only in the master), but the air blows quite hard through the vents. There were also box fans provided. The upstairs bath has dual vanities. Plenty of bath towels and hand towels were provided.
The kitchen was large with lots of cabinetry and a nice refrigerator with water and ice in the door. All of the basic cookware and accessories were provided. Dishwashing detergent and dish soap were provided, as well as liquid hand soap (also in each bathroom). My only suggestion for the owners would be to provide space for guests to store their dry food items. There is a pantry cabinet, but it is being utilized for pots, pans, etc. Perhaps a small island could be added or some type of low cabinet behind the couch bordering the kitchen. We stored our snacks and dry food in grocery bags behind the couch and in the cabinet above the dryer.
The laundry room includes large capacity appliances and the owners kindly provided detergent and dryer sheets. There is not a utility sink. We did have some muddy shoes, so we left them on the front porch to dry instead of bringing them in to wash.
The front and back porches are large, comfortable and provide wonderful views. The fireplace on the back porch is wood burning , and there is a propane grill on the deck. The firepit out back was perfect for relaxing and roasting weenies and smores. There were plenty of chairs provided.
We enjoyed walking the lake trail, though the lake had just been dropped before we arrived so the edge of the water was too soggy to stand and fish. The marina is right down the street, so it was no problem to drive down there to fish. We also enjoyed a delicious, well-priced carryout meal from Sherry's Red Roof Restaurant.
We had a wonderful time at this beautiful, clean, organized house and would definitely stay again!

Amazing and relaxing vacation!
We had such a great trip!! We did mammoth cave, the dinosaur park, train museum (in Bowling Green), and the playground at the lake. All were just a 30 min drive. We love going places and renting houses to relax, and this was the perfect trip! Definitely book this house for your next vacay!!

Great Place
The house was really nice and had everything we needed. We thought it would have been a little closer to the lake but that wasn’t a huge deal to us. The back porch and fire pit were great!
