Was everything the description and photos described. Especially liked the well-eqipped kitchen. Able to prepare meals, even a large dinner for other nearby family.
Easy convenience to the beach. Liked having chairs provided that we could take out to the beach

The condo was in a great location! Steps away from the beach. The condo was super cute and cozy inside. The bedrooms were large and have comfortable beds. The location is pet friendly as we traveled with our small dog. The beach is right out the back door. I was able to walk the dog on the beach. The town is super cute and historic looking. We ate many local restaurants and there is a spot where you can park on the beach with a great restaurant. The salty pelican was excellent also. This coastal town is super charming and the beach still has a lot of natural beauty to it and doesn’t feel over developed. This is a beautiful location and the condo is in great location with easy access to the city and the beach. We did find a few shark teeth during our stay also. Please note there is a coffee maker but no keurig so plan accordingly. The couch is comfortable and there is a dining room. The other living room chairs are not the most comfortable but they are functional and most people are going to be enjoying the beach and not hanging out in the living room. I definitely recommend the captain’s house especially for families traveling with their dog.

Love fernandina beach. Wish we have a little more privacy when sitting on the deck

We enjoyed our stay at Captain's House. It was right on the beach and wasn't far from anything on the island. The kitchen was stocked with ample pots and pans for cooking. The rooms were nice and everything was updated.

Location, location, location, location! This was one of the best rentals we have ever had on the beach. The view is perfect! Stayed for four days with no issues. Everything you need to enjoy the beach and beautiful downtown Fernandina Beach.

The location to the beach can't be beat!! No long walk on a boardwalk here, literally maybe 5 steps total & 10 ft of boardwalk, then your toes are in the sand!! The drawbacks to this condo is that it has not been updated maybe ever. The main bedroom bathrrom shower could use new caulking if nothing else. I can't stand not having a clean looking shower. The matresses aren't great & need new pillows. If you are looking for any semblance of ambiance, you won't find it in this unit. It really could be super nice if the owners spent a little money to update it. Again, view & location go a long way, but for indoor, rainy days, comfy furnishings would be a plus! This an investment, invest & you'd get 5 stars every time!

It was a lovely place! However, I wish there had been more restaurants within walking distance. We spent most of our time in the “downtown” area of Amelia where the shops, restaurants and historic buildings were located.

We really enjoyed the condo and it's proximity to the beach as well as being able to walk to dinner to Salt Life. Very good area as beach is not too crowded. The condo was very clean and had all the necessities we needed for a nice Spring Break trip to the beach. Would love to rent again!

Absolutely perfect location.

We loved to view from our condo. However, there were some issues with a few things that need to be addressed. Remotes for fans needed batteries, tv in bedroom would not come on and there were stains on the living room rug. Couch was comfy but chairs, not so much. Need a couple more end tables in living room.

This is an older condominium project that appears to be all rentals. It is well maintained, clean, and in a perfect location. We enjoyed it and appreciated the host’s hospitality.

Kitchen dishes and cookware in abundance. Bath towels and beach towels also in abundance. Easy steps to the beach. This is a bottom floor rental and our neighbors above were heavy walkers, early, late and all through the day so be prepared. Bathrooms and bedrooms had many hanging hooks which is always welcome. Second bedroom pictures show several closet doors but one is for washer/dryer, another for linen supplies and another for the water heater. The master bedroom is large and so is the closet there. Floor fans are included and are needed to help with cross ventilation. There are plenty of small dings that reflect how often this unit is rented. For the price, those dings should be tolerated. The unit had many beach toys and some inside games as well. Water pressure was excellent and water was hot. The managers were very quick to respond and allowed a two hour extra checkout because of our late flight.

We enjoyed the location and easy access to the beach. While this place could use some love, as stated in other reviews, it had all that we needed for an enjoyable stay. We would stay here again.

Loved the short boardwalk from the deck to the beach, property was very clean, and property manager was easy to contact. The only negative was the furniture in the living room wasnt very comfortable and had the weather not been so cold and rainy, we would have been outside anyway....

This beachfront unit was perfect! Absolutely no problems with anything. The beds were comfy, the towels were so soft and the kitchen had everything we needed. There was even some canned food already there!
The view was amazing and patio area was really nice. I didn't need to contact the property manager during our stay but before the trip he was very responsive and easy to reach. I highly recommend Coastal Waves!

Wonderful place. If you are like us and love to spend time shark tooth hunting and spending time in the sun and sand. This location is perfect for waking up and heading straight for the beach. We had a few minor issues before we got there but Brian took care of everything like a true hospitality pro. So we could enjoy our vacation. We would definitely recommend staying at this location.

The beach view from the living room and kitchen were amazing! You can literally watch the sunrise from your back deck. Such a short walk to the beach, as well as a quick drive to local restaurants nearby!!! If we had any issues or questions, Brian was quick to respond and very accommodating. Our family of 5 and our golden retriever enjoyed our beach stay!!

Had a wonderful time. Enjoyed the beach, spent a lot of time at Fort Clinch State Park biking. Great location on the beach.
8.0 / 10.0
Needs some serious attention in some areas.Back deck is unusable during rain leaks from up top, wets everything. Saw what appeared to be black mold behind master toilet. if heavy footed neighbors are above its awful. Beach access is great but not sure I would stay again.

The place was perfect for familys. I was not worried about children wrecking the house. It was first floor so super easy to bring beach stuff back to house. Shopping was close by for groceries. Management very easy to work with.
8.0 / 10.0
This property has great beach access and is close to the historic downtown area and Fort Clinch. The property was clean on our arrival and the check-in process was smooth. The parking area was generous and bike racks are provided, which is also nice.
The private deck that looks toward the ocean is a plus, except for the patio furniture. Though the furniture looks stylish, the cushions on the bench and chairs are not that comfortable. They provide nearly no padding at all. It's like sitting directly on a wooden seat.
Other than the comfort of the seating area, we were happy with our stay. We had planned to bring our pets when we booked the condo but changed our minds. Our pet deposit was refunded, which was nice.
We would recommend this place, though, upgraded cushions on the patio furniture would be nice.
10.0 / 10.0
The property was exactly what we needed for our family vacation. Not only is there a private porch with direct access to the beach, the stretch of the beach in front of the condo is much less congested than other areas. The condo itself was clean and nicely stocked. We would book again.

We had a wonderful time being right on the beach for all day activities. Perfect location and just a short drive to Fort Clinch Park and charming Fernadina Beach shops and restaurants. The property managers were very response with any questions and the condo had all you need to be able to cook and spend time at the beach.
Can't wait to go back!

Location was perfect for us. We did notice many small things that needed to be either fixed or just updated. The master bathroom needs some TLC. The 2nd bathroom has no counter space, we had no where to put our toiletry bag. The door wall going out on the deck was loud and needed WD-40. We purchased a long mirror as there was not one. We left it in the master bedroom closet for the next guests. The patio furniture was a bit dated and the cushions could use a replacement. The towels were fresh and fluffy, the bedding was clean and comfy.

The vrbo was great….all amenities were provided….but…. the unit above the vrbo was very noisy….no carpeting or sound proofing…..shared this info with vrbo owner….it really needed wall to wall carpeting…. THICK carpeting!

The views right out the living room window are fabulous! We loved the morning sun and the ability to be in the afternoon shade.
The beach was clean and lots of shelling opportunities.
The master bed is outstanding. We slept so well.
The kitchen is stocked with the basic equipment.
We appreciated the beach chairs and umbrella!
There is very little counter space in both bathrooms and they could use an update.
It is unfortunate that there is only one window with a screen that opens. We weren’t able to fully capitalize on some beautiful, cool, breezy days.
