Scenic Cathedral Ledge Bavarian Chalet. Walk to Echo Lake and Diana's Bath

The house was very cute. Perfectly met our needs (small family, 3 adults, 1 child). It had everything we needed. I did find myself wiping down things, and dusting the lights, small things. So it could use just a little sprucing up. Deck was great, neighborhood was great, everything was close by. Echo Lake is a must stop, but reserve ahead of time.

Really enjoyed the stay! The location is great for everything you could want, whether privacy, or busy Main Street in North Conway, or great hiking and swimming/tubing. Echo Lake is a 5-minute bike ride or a 15-minute walk. We only went to the lake after 6 pm, so can't comment on whether reservations are needed. Wonderful to go hiking or biking, then home for a swim at Echo Lake, then to relax on the deck or around the firepit in the yard.
Some things to know, not as a criticism in any way, but just so peeps are not surprised and therefore can enjoy their stay all the more: The 2nd bathroom is more of a composting toilet (I think) and a sink plunked into the laundry room (with brand-new-seeming washer and dryer). Totally serviceable, but I can hear the occasional teenager expressing their horror (though that's teens anyway). Also, parts of the house are dark. Absolutely appropriate to a woodsy chalet, of course. The kitchen and dining area are very well lit.
Hated to leave.
In mid-to-late summer, don't miss the fresh-picked corn at the farmstand on West Side Rd.

Like most vacation homes built a few decades ago, there are shortcomings about the home. the stairs that go upstairs and down are very narrow. The regular bathroom is very small. There is a second bathroom that is in the laundry room and that is a redeeming quality. It's large, has a rack for hanging your clothes (no closets), and has a new washer and dryer. The toilet in the laundry room for some strange reason has a grinder. So when you flush the toilet there is bubbling in the other toilet. Nothing wrong, just a bit jarring when it happens the first time. The bedrooms smell a bit musty but the upstairs does not. Had a few interactions with the property manager and he was quick to respond, easy to communicate with and very helpful. Overall, we had a great time and would return to this property.

This is a wonderful property. It's located so close to Echo Lake and the Cathedral and Whitehorse Ledges that you can easily walk to them all in a short time. The cabin is easy to get to and very clean, the deck, with the propane fire table is a beautiful space to spend time in the evening, the 3 small bedrooms downstairs were cozy, and having an extra partial bathroom downstairs in the laundry room is a game changer. We loved our stay and would definitely recommend this space for a small family. THANK YOU!!

We enjoyed our stay at the chalet. Very cozy and comfortable. Far enough from the hustle and bustle but yet close enough to get anywhere within 10 minutes. The leaves were at their peak and very beautiful this time of year.

Great chalet in a quiet and scenic place for our family of four. The deck was a great place to relax or drink a morning cup of coffee, the neighborhood was very walkable and a short distance to many paths in Cathedral Ledge park and Echo Lake. We drove up Cathedral Ledge but when the kids are older we are interested in taking the hike. Neighborhood is great, families around us and everyone was friendly as we passed while walking. No noise at night which is a huge plus with kids. The property itself had everything we needed, lots of cleaning supplies and directions for everything we would use. You can hear the noise from upstairs easily but it didn't bother us as we were typically on the same floor at the same time. It wasn't warm enough to take advantage of the outdoor shower but hopefully next time. Some cobwebs and spiders but as a family used to camping it didn't bother us. Will 100 percent stay here again for our next trip. Thank you Jim!

Overall, I really enjoyed this property. The location was great for shopping and outdoor activities. The house itself was cute and clean when we arrived. Very comfortable for a family of 4. Also Jim was very quick to respond to any questions. I would recommend this property.

I spent a long weekend at this property with my spouse, 2 middle schoolers, and 2 dogs. The location is absolutely perfect! We were able to walk out the door, down the street, and right onto the trail. If you love hiking, snowshoeing, or cross-country skiing, this location cannot be beat. The chalet was the perfect size for our family with all of the amenities we needed. We loved relaxing on the deck around the fire after a long day of hiking while watching the birds and red squirrels foraging around sunset. We will definitely stay here again.

We had the best week here! Cabin was so cozy for 5 adults. We were able to walk to Cathedral Ledge and around Echo Lake, shop the outlets, eat at great local restaurants and then relax back at the cabin for games & movies. Jim was great to communicate with and we had everything we needed!

We would go back again. Great location! Close to Echo Lake, Cathedral Ledge, Diana’s Baths, and shopping. We brought our Black Lab. The gated deck was perfect for him. A nice family friendly spot.

Clean, comfortable chalet with everything we needed. Short walk down the street to Cathedral ledge which is stunning scenery early in the morning! Echo lake is also an easy hike. Dianna’s Bath is a short drive. Our dog loved the daily hikes

The property was exactly as advertised. We enjoyed the gas fire pit and the feel of log cabin living. The location was perfect, giving us daily walks to cathedral ledge and the local neighborhood. We would stay there again with no hesitation. Also, Jim the owner was easy to work with

The location is perfect with easy access to Crawford and Pinkham Notch hikes without having to deal with the traffic in town. A few hikes are also within 1/2 mile of the chalet! Just walking around the neighborhood is also nice with the ledges towering above and Echo Lake down the street.
The chalet is clean, nice and good size for our purposes however it might be a bit compact for a big group. Large windows are nice and interior was bright when the sun was out however somehow dimly lit despite the available lighting at night and on rainy days.
All in all a great spot and we already booked our next visit!

The location was within a three minute walk to the Echo State Park entrance and to the trails that lead to climbing Cathedral Ledge ( we are not climbers but enjoyed watching climbers scale that mountain). The location was also within a 40-50 minute drive to the White Mountains National Park and many of its trails. The cabin was clean , the neighborhood quiet and and the amenities (washer/dryer, plenty of hot water, full kitchen) were welcomed after a long hike.

Stayed here for the weekend with my gf and some friends and the property is amazing! Nice and private neighborhood right around the corner from North Conway. Plenty of room for 6 -7 people/family and best perk of the place is the giant deck to to just chill out on and have a good time. Will definitely be booking in the future!

This lovely chalet is nestled in a quiet wooded area just minutes (7!) to center of North Conway. Many restaurants and quaint shops at your fingertips, or venture out for hikes on hundred of trails, cool off in MANY roadside swimming holes, visit Cathedral Ledge, Diana’s Bath, Mt Washington or all the Notches. Relax back at this Bavarian Chalet on the comfortable deck or sit by the fire-pit after sunset with your favorite beverage after a day of adventures. Jim, our host, was always quick to respond if we had questions or concerns from time of booking right through until end of our stay. A terrific NH visit!

Great location in a very quiet neighborhood
The cabin is located just a very short walk from the Cathedral Ledge and Echo Lake. Really great location! Our golden retriever had a little difficulty with the steep and narrow stairs inside of the cabin. The patio stairs worked just fine for her.

Favorite VRBO by far
I loved this chalet. It was in the woods enough that it was super peaceful but close enough (under 2 miles) to the center and everything you need to do.
It's located right at the entrance to the Cathedral Ledge road so it was easy access for a morning walk.
The place itself was perfect. Three bedrooms and 1.5 baths downstairs and an open upstairs. It was just my girlfriend and I so we had ample room. The porch off the upstairs was amazing and gated in so my dog was in heaven.
I think I've found my go to in North Conway!!!

As advertised. Everything is much smaller than we are used to at home but was quite manageable. All appliances worked fine including wifi and TV. Location is convenient to everything you need and the local attractions, hiking, tubing, kayaking, golf courses. We were there for two trouble free months. Wonderful time. Recommend without reservations.
