For context to my review, my Dad and I stayed 5 nights/4 days and we were here to enjoy the last part of summer horseback riding, jet skiing on the lake, and hiking. If you like peace and quiet (outside of slight noise from Garrett Highway) and want to spend your time outdoors, this is your place. Very nice covered front porch and expansive fire pit area. The property was well-maintained inside and outside and the Vrbo listing was as advertised.

We thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub and fire pit. The wifi worked most of the time, but there were times it went out. The location was perfect. The cabin has a nice wood stove. The check-in and check-out process was the easiest I have ever seen. Deep Creek Lake is a beautiful escape for relaxation and peace. We recommend going to Swallow Falls to see the waterfalls.

Perfect little cottage
We brought our 2 year old Lab pup and it was perfect. The location was secluded just enough and we all loved the covered front porch. The home was very well furnished with plenty of linens, dishes, etc and the bed was so comfortable. Good internet service but limited cell. We didn’t mind that since we could walk out a little bit to get service if we needed it. It was a vacation after all!

Perfect getaway for me. Nearby fishing holes & hikes. Hot tub was clean and sweet relief after being out all day. Wood burning stove made every evening comfy (all the wood you could need INCLUDED) no cell service for Att&t, but enabling WiFi calling makes it possible. kitchen was well appointed. Easy breezy remote check-in & check-out. Book now, this property is a GEM.

The cottage is quaint and in a beautiful location. Quiet. Lamentably, small details detracted from the visit. The silverware was exceedingly cheap, the can opener was virtually non-functional. The knives were dull; difficult to chop vegetables. The dishwasher did not quite fit properly among the cabinets and was hard to close. No big deal, but a shame given how easy it would be to make the experience perfect. To charge such a premium rate, you need to attend to the minor upgrades. Oh, the towels were luxurious.

I loved this cabin. It was the perfect place for my husband and I to spend Christmas. It has more privacy than I anticipated (great for dashing to the hot tub in sub-freezing weather), but it's a very short drive to all the shops, restaurants, and Wisp. The only things that could have made it better would be fresh water in the hot tub and a spare key at the rental company. The batteries died on the front door lock and they had to send out a locksmith after a couple employees were unable to get in, which wasn't a lot of fun since temperatures were in the teens outside. But the rental company was quick to respond and didn't stop working with us until the problem was fixed.

The perfect size cabin for 2! Almost everything was provided (even some firewood) and the cabin was in great shape. The ONLY thing we would suggest is a light on the side of the house that faces the fire pit. It was a little hard to see to get the fire going at night, but that's it. We had a great time at this little cabin. It's the perfect size for the 2 of us and our dogs. Everything was clean, the kitchen was well-equipped. We even liked trying out the "My Pillows", since we were thinking about buying them. (loved them; we're going to buy!). This was our first visit to the Deep Creek area and we'll definitely be back.

We loved the hot tub and fire pit most and let our city dogs enjoy some time on the front porch. It's also conveniently located to lots of restaurants, shops, and parks. The bedroom is very dark and it's almost silent at night, so it's the best I've slept since moving to Baltimore. I was only disappointed that the yard is small and the home is close to neighbors. Our dogs live in a small apartment and I was hoping they might have a little room to run, but being close to a road and neighbors, I stuck to walking them around on leash. Another thing to note if you're considering bringing dogs is that it's not an easy road for walking them. There's not really a shoulder, so you have to walk close to people's homes. Still, lots of the parks have amazing trails for dogs and ours especially loved Swallow Falls.
