I liked the woman who answered the phone during the day. She calmed my anxiety by pleasantly switching my dates when I made an online error. I really appreciated the male evening attandant at the front desk. I locked myself out of my room n he said that coming to help me was not a problem. He was professional and kind.

My family owned cabins and I gained experience by learning that details in cleaning make an important difference. I couldn't help notice that there was a fruit sticker left sticking to the sink, which I peeled off, water mark splashes, bathtub was not cleaned where people stood, concentrated dust at the intersection of baseboards etc. Just lacked professional thoroughness and it makes a difference in how comfortable people feel.

…absolutely everything was terrible…you can change your name from ‘motel’ to ‘studio’…but it doesn’t make the room any better…it started in the line where the lady in front was demanding a new room..she said emphatically‘I will not stay in this room, it smells of cigar’…well, our room also just stunk…combination of smoke, mold and b.o. we kept window open all night…it was so stinky, we wouldn’t even take a evening shower…the terribly small bathroom was full of rust and mold around the tub…the shower curtain far too small…hence wet floor and mold…booking asks for ‘special’ requests, in my experience they are never read…asked extra pillows, forget it…but guess what, in the morning when we needed a shower NO HOT WATER…overall the Barstow 6 building needs to be condemned…the walls are peeling off..the toilet seat is meant for a 10 year old…now, I’ve stayed at 6’s before and accept 2 to 2.5 rating so I’m easy to please…I always use booking.com , because I can be assured of my card’s security and my room will be confirmed …but Barstow needs to be delisted …we travelled next to Lake Havasu where we drove past the most beautiful new ‘6’ …and couldn’t help but thinking how we were ripped off in the skuzzy decrepit Barstow location…

MANAGEMENT is horrible! The staff is good. But it takes the right leadership.

I had to deposit $150 for the studio and $50 for pet, CASH ONLY, they do not accept credit cards. I went searching my purse for $200 in cash, The bed was firm, so I could not get comfortable.
