Good location on North side of Tahoe. Lots of places close by for dining. Property had some webbings and dust. During this Covid-19 made me uncertain on how clean this house was.

The house fits everyone well. Two of the sleeping places doubled as kid caves, which worked well for multi-generational families. Hot tub was large. Deck was one of the bigger ones in the immediate area to us and had plenty of seating. The 2 fridges were a great bonus. Neighborhood is friendly. All the kitchen amenities and towels you could ask for. Disclosed upfront was there was no AC, which is very common for Tahoe, and only an issue a few weeks a year. We happen to be there for some of that. While they did try to provide every room a fan, not all worked fans well and zero cross ventilation in the house due to multi levels. First night was super toasty for everyone. Recommend some new fans and/or not have every blind open prior to checking in. House was HOT upon arrival and never cooled down. The biggest downfall for the house was the pool rules. We selected this house over others, strictly because of the pool. Wasn’t until we read the handbook located in the house the first night that we found out the following: 1. Pool divided into 5 swim lanes, and only 2 swimmers allowed per lane. Therefore only 10 people in the pool at a time. This is due to COVID. 2. Upfront reservations are required to swim. Make those reservations your first night or you may be out of luck during your stay!! 3. Each house is only given 10 swim hours/week. Therefore, if you have the 10 occupants allowed for the house, your whole house gets to swim for only 1 hour for the whole week (provided the prior guest didn’t already use that time up). Resets every Sunday. 4. We knew of the $10/person to use the pool, but a house of 10 would spend $100 to use the pool for 1 hour/week. We were ok with $10/person if it was an all day activity, but for 1 hour was disappointing. While I know that the rental company has no control over the pool rules, these should be very apparent to the renter prior to booking. Especially if one of your selling points is a community pool. Side note for the older or less amble folks, the walk up from the private beach is steep! My elderly mom could not do it. Other than the disappointment with pool use, everything else was great. But I do recommend being more upfront on how the current pool situation works and updating the listing based on current COVID protocols. I felt like a fast one was pulled on us.

This was a great home that allowed all of our friends to spend the weekend relaxing. The porch was amazing and was a perfect place to drink coffee, do yoga and grill up some tasty dinner. The home was also cozy while still allowing all our friends to have their own space. The only issue was the oven and cooktop were very slow to heat up which meant our dinner took a long time to make. The AC also only seemed to work downstairs not upstairs. This place is a great value and we would all come again!

This house slept 10 people comfortably, and was well-stocked with towels, games, kitchen equipment, etc., including a second refrigerator that came in handy. It's kind of a long walk to get to the Dollar Point beach, maybe a mile (and a lot of uphill on the way back!). An unpleasant surprise was the $10 per person per day charge to access the beach. The listing did not mention that, apparently because the owner thought the charge would not yet be in effect. More unpleasant was the 8 person per house limit, especially given that the house is listed to accommodate 10 people. That can make for some awkward family dynamics -- who gets to go to the beach today, and who gets left out? If you have a big group, that beach charge adds up fast. Luckily we were only there for the weekend. I can see why they would want to limit the number of people because the beach was very crowded. Had we known about the extra fees and the 8 person limit, we would have looked for a different rental.

House and kitchen were great. Kitchen was well stocked and functional. Lots of room to spread out for multiple families.

We were extremely pleased with this property. It was clean, spacious and well-kept. We had plenty of room for all of our family members - our adult children and their kids; we especially enjoyed the deck off of the living/dining room, which faced the lake. We spent some very enjoyable evenings out there. The hot tub was great - someone from our family used it every night. The house is very close to grocery stores, etc, in Tahoe City. We were pleased with the amenities that were provided - the internet was fast and reliable, there were several portable fans provided that we needed during the day as the weather was quite warm when we were there; plenty of towels. Our family members enjoyed the private beach. Overall, we were very pleased with this property and the owners were very responsive to any questions that we had.

Our stay was perfect in this quiet neighborhood house. I like to cook and the kitchen was very functional and well supplied. The downstairs sofa bed turns into a very comfortable queen bed with its own bathroom & outside entrance, perfect for older kids or another couple. Two more bedrooms downstairs are very comfortable with another shared full bath. Upstairs is the master bedroom with a full bathroom and another room is a study with a murphy bed that was comfortable sleeping. The back deck has plenty of seating with a view of the lake. The set up is such that while preparing meals you can still stay engaged in the conversations on the deck and living room. Clean carpets and bathrooms. Overall a very comfortable living, would love to return next year and I would highly recommend this rental. Hot tub was clean and comfortable right off the downstairs bedrooms.

Had a great week. House worked out well and was as promised. Would be nice to have an extra house key as sometimes we had groups going different ways. Long walk to beach especially going back uphill. Enjoyed just sitting on the deck as it was very peaceful and quiet. Lake was amazing. Also spent quite a bit of time at pool and tennis courts which was an easy walk. Jacuzzi was wonderful! This was the perfect place for our summer vacation with 7 people. Loved the layout of the house, the kitchen, the deck with lake view, the hot tub, and the proximity to the pool and lake. Well stocked kitchen and games for the kids. We absolutely loved our stay here!

This house has it all. 2 living rooms that we could spread out in. The fully stocked kitchen, professional stove and large refrigerator made entertaining easy. The spacious multilevel deck received sun most of the day and was a great place to hang out. The house is super clean and has quiet neighbors. We had a wonderful time hiking, enjoying the private and the local restaurants. But our favorite spot was the hot tub where we sipped our morning coffee and watched the moon and stars at night. We will return next year for our anniversary.

Stayed here for two weeks in the summer on a family vacation. Four adults and 3 children. It's clean and well maintained. The owner takes pride in keeping this place updated over the years. The five bed rooms and spacious deck make it easy for a large group to spread out or all gather in the living room or on the deck. The hot tube is like new and kept very clean by regular weekly maintenance. The kids especially enjoyed the locked access beautiful large community pool and beach. The staff at both locations were friendly and professional making it a safe place for kids. I enjoy making this a home base for long day hikes a short drive away in the beautiful Sierra Mountains. We always have a great time here and have returned many times over the years. It is our favorite family vacation destination.

I found the place to be clean and the carpet was relatively new, definitely not dirty. Very cute and has all the necessary accommodations and then some! Lots of rooms. Newest lower level is awesome! Great decks. Peaceful and beautiful place.

My husband and I have stayed at this property on five occasions. We have always found the home to be well equipped, very clean and comfortable. We have benefitted from the continual updates and attention the owners pay to this home. The view from the deck is beautiful! We both highly recommend this home and hope to return again.

I live summers in the area where this home is located so I see all of the renters of this house that come and go. Also, We have rented this home when we need additional space for family, guests or group activities. This home is a very fine place to stay, wonderful location, access to all the amenities of Dollar Point, and is a great value. I see the cleaning people come in after every renter leaves and the home is always in terrific condition. This is a fine home for anyone looking for a quality vacation home, summer or winter, in the Lake Tahoe area. No one should hesitate to stay in this home - this is confirmed by all of the other reviews located on this site and I know from personally talking to many of the renters over the years they were all very pleased in their selection of this home for their Tahoe vacation. One final note - I do remember the renters that wrote the negative review. Quite frankly it is a good thing that they will not be coming back to this home - and hopefully the neighborhood. They and their attitude will not be missed.

Thanks Emil and Jean for another great get away. We always enjoy your home and especially with your new bonus room. The 3rd bathroom was also a treat for the teenage girls. This worked great with our large family as the kids now have 2 areas to gather by age(teens and preteens) separate from the adults. When the kids weren't there this also provided some quiet reading space. We always enjoy the restaurants in town and will be back next year.

We take an annual family vacation and alternate between the coast and Tahoe each year. This year was Tahoe, and sad to say, this was the worst house we have ever rented anywhere. The pictures online are misleading to say the least. The house was very small and not accommodating for a family of 10. The house was filthy and appeared to not have been cleaned in quite some time but we were not able to check in until 5 pm because the cleaning company was apparently there. Really doubt it. The bed linens were dirty, with stains on all the comforters, the carpet was absolutely filthy, there were spider webs in the bathrooms, the house and the outside deck and the place had appeared not vacuumed or dusted for awhile. There were a number of other problems including a broken deck which posed a real hazard for our granddaughter. The boards were broken in 2 places and we had to cover with a piece of furniture so no one would fall through (about 10 ft. to the ground) The railing is also very dangerous for small children as they can fall through it. The beds were all worn out and it felt like sleeping on a piece of plywood. There is no a/c or ceiling fans so the house is hot and has no air movement. The rooms online looked very inviting but upon arrival, they are about 10x10, and that is probably generous. When moving the furniture to accommodate sleeping for everyone, there were a used feminine product found stuffed in the furniture. It was obvious, the furniture had not been moved or cleaned under in quite a while. We ended up leaving earlier than planned after finding dirty undergarments under one of the beds. We would have probably been better off staying at a campground. It would have been cleaner and more comfortable, and you would not have to worry about the neighbors spying on you. Lastly, the rental agency called mid-week to ask if we would move all our items so they could have the carpets cleaned. Who does that to a renter on vacation? Pretty unbelievable. I Will not recommend this to anyone.

I am sitting on the deck, enjoying the beauty of the lake. My thoughts turn to how fortunate I am to be with friends enjoying the Hembrooke's home. Having had the good fortune to enjoy all the wonderful amenties this home offers for three vacations over the years. I always look forward to a return trip. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and spread out on three split levels. If you like to engage in the culinary arts, this is the kitchen made to order. Plenty of cook ware, herbs, spices and a great stove I highly recommend this home to my friends..

And, your idea about the Murphy bed is terrific; we are ordering one for our home! Last time we were here we didn't take enough advantage of the hot tub; but made up for it this time! The new TV with the big screen is super. Thanks for mentioning the beach at Sand Harbor; it was beautiful.

The property was listed properly. Everything was clean and furniture, including beds, was comfortable and apparently regularly updated. We were able to cook all our favorite meals in the nicely equipped and remodeled kichen. With 2 separate entertainment areas with tv's we were able to to give the kids their own area. We weren't able to see the finished product but they were building an additional bedroom/family room with bath and big screen tv. We enjoyed the hot tub as well as the private beach at the lake. There were many and very diverse restaurants inearby.Highly recommended for a family get away with plenty for you and the kids to enjoy.
