We had a wonderful stay. Our hosts were very warm and welcoming and the location was great. It was located close to the ski mountain and town and tucked away next to a stream so the kids and dog could do some exploring. The place was comfy and warm and we enjoyed the wood burning stove. Lots to do and a nice place to relax.

We loved our stay at Serene Retreat! You can definitely tell where they get the name from… from the sounds of the stream behind the house to the wood burning fireplace this home makes you want to cozy up with a good book and a blanket.

Beautiful home that was well appointed, tastefully decorated and fits a family of 5 perfectly. A short drive from NYC that provides a great respite from the busyness of city life. We loved our time at the house, enjoyed the town and shops, and the food was surprisingly amazing — especially from Sweet Susie’s!
Alison, the host was very responsive and friendly and we thoroughly enjoyed our time away at their place. Looking forward to coming back again!

It was a wonderful trip that we throughly enjoyed. It’s a beautiful home with incredibly serene views and we loved having the stream right in the backyard. We look forward to coming back again.

The House was gorgeous and beautifully located. Easy access to Phoenicia (although a car is very much recommended though not 100%necessary). Everything was laid out and the instructions from the host we’re excellent and extremely helpful. Would highly recommend this property for a short break from the city or a longer journey back to nature.

The property is located on a private road which makes the place secluded and quiet. The rustic style of the house is a perfect compliment to the beauty of the nature. The house itself is very well equipped with everything you need and use on a daily basis at your own place. Alison and Peter are very accommodating, welcoming, informative and communicative! They are genuinely very nice and kind people who do everything they can to make your stay enjoyable! We did not get the chance to admire the beauty of the stream as it was under restoration during the time of our stay but the hosts were great enough to make the stay special and memorable! Highly recommended!

My friends and I booked Alison’s place for our Christmas celebration. This little home matches all my check boxes for a dreamed cabin in the woods. Would definitely recommend it any body. Alison is also very helping and responses quickly.

This is a comfortable cabin in a lovely, woodsy setting by a stream. It was a pleasure to arrive and find fresh flowers on the table as well as art work and pottery by local artists in every room. Our host Alison was welcoming and gracious and shared some of her homegrown peaches with us!

Beautiful!
Loved this place. It was so peaceful and secluded enough, but only less than 10 mins from town. Exactly what we were looking for. The house itself was very nice and spacious with great outdoor areas. The bathroom was HUGE! Loved that there was also laundry.

A beautiful and relaxing getaway
This home provided a beautiful and peaceful haven for the perfect long weekend getaway. Everything you need to get to is a quick five minute drive. The bubbling creek in the backyard adds a blissful, natural ambience. Make sure to pick up some kindling and newspapers at a market on your way up!

Private Getaway
This property is great if you want a private Getaway to cut off from the outside world. Unfortunately it rained on Saturday, our only full day at the property, so we could not go out and explore/hike the area. The area is very private and secluded. No cell service in town which was nice to just cut off. We hope to come back in the spring or summer time with better weather in hopes to do so! The house itself has basically all the amenities you need from kitchen to bath. Some kitchen utensils are slightly damaged from over use, but that's the only slightly negative thing. There is also a Roku to stream on. Wood stove makes for a great heat source in the winter and quickly heats the living room and loft. We hope to be back again!

Absolutely amazing experience. Can not wait to come back. The perfect bungalow on the river for a weekend away in the woods. 10/10 would recommend.

Quiet oasis
Everything about this house was perfect. The house itself was lovely, clean, roomy, modern, and comfortable. The deck is large with a dining table, chair, and gas grill. We spent most of our time on the deck because it was so peacefully and beautiful and you can see and hear the river. Our dog had a blast roaming around the yard and wading in the river. Alison was a lovely host, answering all of my questions in a timely manner. I will definitely be staying here again.

Great Hideaway By The Creek
Our family had a wonderful stay in this home which is beautifully located adjacent to a creek in the Catskills. Our hosts were very helpful prior to the visit and had the home well set up for our arrival. We enjoyed exploring the nearby towns and restaurants and would love to go back to spend more time there.

Magnificent hideaway
We had the most wonderful time here over the 4th! It looks exactly as in the pictures, with the tranquil running stream behind the property. Such a great place to relax, cook, and enjoy nature. The view of the night sky will take your breath away. Would absolutely recommend staying here and hope to again ourselves!

Stylish and peaceful
Especially for those whose experience is influenced by a well-designed and thoughtfully appointed place, this is a wonderful location. We had a beautiful stay without any hitches. There is no dishwasher, but somehow washing dishes to the sound of the roaring stream (also amazingly silent with windows closed) is not as bothersome! We had a lovely dinner on the outdoor deck one evening and the string lights hung above were perfect. Thank you!

Beautiful place for quiet rest
This place was very well stocked and really comfortable. The stream right below the deck was a calming sound even if the slushy snow prevented us from going down to it. Beds were comfortable and our 2 year old granddaughter set up her own sleeping place in the upstairs closet. Thanks for a great stay.

Little slice of heaven!
Beautiful, serene spot in the Catskills. Off the beaten path of Phoenicia, while still being close enough to town to enjoy the Phoenicia Diner & Foxfire Mountain House. The house has everything the four of us needed, oh, and our puppy LOVED the experience.
The hosts are wonderful and unobtrusive, they have everything under the control and are easily accessible.

Perfect NYC getaway
Alison's cabin was the perfect getaway for a short Christmas vacation. We made a last minute decision to go to the Catskills and was able to book seamlessly on short notice. We only have good things to say about Alison's place. Not only is the place so aesthetically pleasing, it is very functional, immaculately clean, and has every necessity you can think of. It was lightly snowing outside and all we wanted to do was stay in, watch movies, and play board games which we were able to do thanks to all the entertainment provided in the home. We also brought our two dogs Brooklyn and Bella and they had a blast! We loved having them meet Harmony, Alison's dog who is adorable and came out a couple times to say hi. We would absolutely return again. We are already talking about planning to come back in Spring. We would 100% recommend her place!
