I had to drive in a gravel road for about 45 minutes to get there, but the place was lovely and was a good value for money.

The hotel is a very simple one, seems to be focused mostly on the winter season. The hosts were very nice.
We could order our dinner in advance and indicate the time we wanted to eat (also for breakfast). No TV on the room, but there is one in a common hall, along with plenty of benches to sit and relax (and read a book or play a game).
In the beautiful area there were some walking trails, and we checked one out, which we liked.
It's a 20 km drive from the through route, which was not so convenient to us as we were primarily looking for a stopover on our way from Bergen to Oslo. But still happy we stayed here, it is a very nice hotel.

The hotel is well located for visiting this mountain area and accessing various outdoors activities. Cross country tracks start directly at the door, a small ski lift is located 10 minutes away, and a 15 minutes drive will take you to majestic mountain lakes and beautiful treks up the mountains. Bergsjø is also fantastic for snowkiting at winter time and kiting classes can be arranged for beginners.
Although rooms and lobbies have a simple and slightly outdated standard everything is clean and functional. Food was also good.
The new owner is friendly and helpful, and plans to gradually upgrade the facilities in the coming months.
Nothing to complain about as long as you don't expect luxury or slick design
