The property itself, the spot on the lake, the views, the volleyball court etc. were perfect. The place is set up to entertain. The kitchen is very well stocked. 2 huge sinks, 2 dishwashers made cleaning up after feeding a large group very easy. We have been taking this trip with this group for 23 years now and this place is on a very short list of everyone's favorites. Boat and jet ski rentals were very easy as was everything with this owner. They are very responsive and definitely seemed to care about your stay. We would for sure rent again. Thanks for sharing your little slice of heaven with us for the weekend.

Melissa's property served our needs completely. It was exactly as advertised. When you walk in, you know you are entering a home that is used and loved and crafted for happy family times by the lake, and they are sharing their home with you. The home was clean, furnished perfectly for relaxation, the kitchen was organized, and the guestbook and instructions very clear.. Air conditioning was able to be set independently on each of the three floors, bathrooms were well stocked, pantry was well stocked, and there was laundry detergent available for us to use.. we had a large group-20,, with 10 adults and 20 kids. we felt comfortable, which shows just how large the house is. The ample deck space, grass play area, game room, dock space, paddle boards, and swim area all combine to make this quite an ideal set up for our family. We were in Texas for the eclipse and Melissa even left us a treat of eclipse-themed treats on our arrival. We were traveling with a group of nearly 40 folks, and Melissa was able to accommodate the remainder of our family in her other home on the lake, which was also superb. We highly recommend a stay at a Fortner property on cedar creek, a sleepy retreat from the bustle of Dallas or wherever you’re frying to escape:)

Overall the house is amazing, the neighbor next door is a control freak I received a email saying I guess we broke something and owners used the protection plan for damages which I agree if we did break something then it needs to be paid for but I know we didn’t but who cares . I checked everything before we left and didn’t see anything and was in contact with the owner and told her if we did please send picks and price so I could pay for it because I know it does cost a lot to have a beautiful property like this. If it’s just a couple trying to get away then I highly recommend but if you are doing a cook out with friends and family that are not staying I wouldn’t do to the experience we had.

We had a group of about 20 for a work retreat. Melissa was very communicative and everything was just as described. Plenty of room for everyone and everything we needed for cooking for a large group was supplied. We had a great relaxing weekend team building, playing games, & eating good food. This house is bomb! Everything it appears to be and more. Melissa was very easy to deal with and was quick to answer any of our questions. Just make sure to check in advance if the lake is low your boat may not reach the dock due to shallow water. This lake is beautiful and this house is a great place to enjoy it!

Great location for a professional team building weekend. Everyone enjoyed the house as it was very clean, spacious and has a great A/C….so necessary during this heatwave! There are lots of areas for activities as well. The hostess, Melissa, was extremely helpful with information about the house & property. She provided excellent recommendations for catering lunch and dinner during our stay….plus has a wealth of knowledge about all the community has to offer. Melissa is so easy to communicate with and she was quick to return all messages. It was a GREAT stay! Highly recommended!!

The house was clean and beautiful. The small town was great. There are stores right up the road, and we could easily get to if we needed. My only complaint is, there needs to be better cooking equipment. For the size of that property and the amount of people that it can hold, the pots and pans were too small and not enough.

Great house located right on the water. Perfect for our family reunion and room for all 24 of us. Hosts were very responsive and we didn’t have any issues. Everyone wants to go back next year!

Our Visit to Fortner Point
Reservation process was excellent. Property owner communicated with me nicely. House is 3 stories, but there are no bedrooms on the first floor which was a challenge for the senior members of our family. Second floor had 3 bedrooms, and the 3rd floor had a huge room with several beds of all sizes. This meant 4 of our married couples had to sleep on 3rd floor with all the kids.
It is a beautiful setting, but the water was so low fishing was impossible. The kids and adults had a wonderful time playing in the water.

Great house, terrible experience with host
The house was beautiful. However, we arrived and noticed there were a few chairs already broken. There were also lots of cobwebs in bathrooms/outside on the deck. It felt like nobody had cleaned the property in awhile.
The experience with the host was extremely stressful and nearly made us cancel our reservation. If you are looking to rent this property with anything other than a church group, silent retreat group, or elderly home field trip, i would highly suggest against booking this property. We left the property after vacuuming and wiping down all counter areas. We cleaned the grill after using it, despite her claim that we didn’t.
Before the stay, she warned us that she left a car there and would be coming by to grab it. Her husband came by at the end of the weekend and we chatted, he was great. and told us “thanks for treating the property so well!”
As for the extra people, we only had 18 people stay at the property so we were wrongly charged for that. (or less- we had people leave before the weekend was over)
Overall, house was great but i would NOT book again with this host. Before the weekend the host noticed my age (27) on my liscense and i feel as though she went into the weekend already knowing she was going to scrutinize our stay, regardless of our care of the property.

Great Spot for our Girl Scout Troop. Plenty of Space, Clean and Amenities Galore. It had everything we needed and lots of room for all of us. Host is awesome, easy to communicate with and helpful. Lake Front views were great. Firepit easy to use. Game and Activity room for the girls. Kitchen has double of everything so its beneficial for large groups. We will be back, All around 5-Stars. House was great! Very comfortable and roomy for our group of 12 (adults / teenagers). Plenty to do and great view of the lake. It was a little windy during our stay so we spent more time indoors than we expected but with games and puzzles on hand we still had fun. Kitchen was well stocked so we had no problems preparing meals for our group. Only negative was several outdoor chairs had loose arms. Owner said they were working on replacing / repairing them so that should be better for our next trip! As we were leaving - our whole group wished we had booked a longer stay. Would definitely stay again.

Wonderful Christmas Family Gathering
We truly enjoyed our time on this property. Family from Texarkana, Dallas, Houston and Lubbock came together for a couple of days to celebrate Christmas. Lakeside property, beautiful sunset, lots of room to visit and play board games. Took advantage of the ping-pong and other games provided. Would definitely recommend to other families!!!

From the moment we walked in the fun began. Plenty of room for our crew of 14, Panasonic views of the lake. We took full advantage of the playroom, volleyball court and the lake. Perfect Lake House
This house was perfect for our Mother/Sons weekend with a total of 16. The boys had so much fun playing volleyball kayaking, and swimming with the lily pad swim mat. The screened in cantina room was a hit too! The fire pit was perfect for making smores! The kitchen was amazing! 2 double sinks and 2 dishwashers was so helpful! It was fully stocked with everything we had forgotten to pack! The views from every window were amazing! The upstairs loft was perfect for all the boys to bunk together! None of us wanted to leave and the boys are begging to go back! Melissa was wonderful to communicate with before and after the stay! We will definitely be back!

Our family of all ages thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Fortner Point. This home is well stocked and well suited for large family get togethers. It was great having double kitchen sinks, a built in ice maker, 2 refrigerators, and many more well thought out amenities. The kids complained the entire time we were packing up to go home—all wanted to stay longer!
