Wir waren 3 Wochen im wunderschönen Anwesen von Alice. Alice war eine überaus freundliche, sehr sympathische, hilfsbereite und dabei unaufdringliche Gastgeberin. Das Anwesen ist ein Traum, riesig, sauber und mit sehr viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet. Unsere sechzehnjährige Tochter war begeistert von ihrem "Wohnturm" in dem sie allein wohnen konnte. Das kleine Appartement ist sehr hübsch, modern und zweckmäßig eingerichtet. In der großen Küche im Haupthaus fehlt es an nichts, sie ist urgemütlich, mit dem alten Steinbogen und dem Pferdetrog . Es ist toll, dass man überall im Haus noch sehen kann, was es einmal war. Der Innenhof ist wunderschön begrünt. Zusammen mit den gelben Steinen der Bruchsteinmauer ergab sich ein harmonisches Gesamtbild. Wir konnten stundenlang sitzen, lesen und genießen( hierfür hätten wir uns zwei bequemere Liegestühle gewünscht :-) . Wir haben viele Ausflüge in die nähere und weitere Umgebung gemacht. Die Strände sind in ca. 45 Minuten zu erreichen und auch in die wunderschönen Cevennen ist es nicht viel weiter. Nîmes liegt quasi um die Ecke und auch Arles und Avignon sind für Tagesausflüge gut zu erreichen. Leider haben wir es nicht mehr nach Marseille geschafft(uns war es in diesem Sommer einfach zu heiß). Meistens waren wir, wegen der großen Hitze, bis zum Nachmittag im Haus, bzw Innenhof. Da wir uns rundum wohl gefühlt haben, haben wir auch nichts vermisst. Es war sehr erholsam. Vielen Dank nochmal Alice, es war uns eine Freude bei Ihnen zu sein. Vielleicht sehen wir uns weiteres Mal. :-) (Und Grüße an Pascha, den Hauskater) Herzlichst Sabine&Florian

Acceuil très chaleureux d'Alice, qui nous a ouvert les portes de cette magnifique maison en pierre, rénovée avec tellement d'amour ! Encore mieux que sur les photos, des pièces spacieuses et agréables, tout l'équipement qu'il faut, confortable, l'extérieur beau, calme, avec ces murs en pierre tout autour, cet espace, le jardin...un beau séjour, un voyage dans le temps, un lieu plein d'amour et de sérénité ! Et bien placé ! A recommander !

Maison très bien équipée et joliment décorée. Accueil parfait de la propriétaire. Nous avons pu faire de belles randonnées dans les environs et profiter d’un feu de bois revigorant en fin de journée (novembre). Nous recommandons et reviendrons avec plaisir.

Nous avons été accueillis par la voisine , madame Arbousset, très gentille dame. Elle nous a fait découvrir la maison et ses installations. Très grande et très confortable pour nous 7. Les enfants ont apprécié le jardin et Pacha le chat. Il ne manque rien côté cuisine. Nous avons aimé prendre nos repas sur la terrasse. Idéal pour visiter les alentours. Aiguës mortes, Nîmes et autres. Je recommande cette maison à tous.

Avons passé un séjour très agréable en famille composée d'adultes. La maison est très confortable, surtout par les températures en cours (juillet 2018), la fraicheur intérieure de la maison était super ! Cuisine très bien équipée en appareil électroménager. Les chambres sont spacieuses avec une literie confortable. Jolie vaisselle locale, plaisante à utiliser au quotidien! Alice est disponible et toujours prête à répondre au plus vite à nos demandes et/ou remarques. Promenades en vélo à partir de la maison super chouettes permettant de découvrir un paysage gardois des plus beaux. La boucle des Olivettes, celle du Vidourle sont à faire en partant tôt le matin pour profiter de la lumière superbe et des températures acceptables. Nous recommandons également la sortie matinale (départ 7h30) proposée par la Maison du Grand site de France à Aigues mortes, permet de mieux appréhender les paysage de la petite camargue et de découvrir la faune de ce site, le tout se finit par un petit déjeuner très convivial. Le tout petit bémol : dommage qu'il n'y ait pas de boulangerie dans le hameau de St Etienne d' Escattes. Attention aussi à l'escalier à l'intérieur de la maison avec de jeunes enfants, pas de rembarde et marches étroites dans le virage. C'est une adresse à recommander les yeux fermés!!

Sehr schönes Anwesen, sehr viel Platz und sehr ruhig. Herrlicher Hof um die Abende ausklingen zu lassen. Verschmuster Kater inklusive. ... nur der Kühlschrank brummt etwas laut. Hört man aber nur in der Küche...

Le hasard a bien fait les choses en nous proposant de séjourner le temps d'un week-end dans cet endroit magnifique, calme et reposant, très confortable et convivial, avec son jardin fleuri et son pacha à 4 pattes très affectueux. La propriétaire est charmante et se met en quatre pour apporter tous les services à ses hôtes. L'accueil est parfait, l'équipement au top, on retient l'adresse car elle mérite de revenir les yeux fermés.

Maison accueillante , spacieuse avec beaucoup de charme . Enfants et adultes s’y trouvent bien .

Das schöne und sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtete Haus hat uns allen sehr gefallen. Alice war seine sehr unkomplizierte und zugängliche Gastgeberin. Wir würden jederzeit gerne wieder dort Urlaub machen, hoffentlich mit besserem Wetter. Aber zumindest hat im Haus inkl. der Heizung alles tadellos funktioniert.

Super séjour, la propriété est magnifique, spacieuse, et authentique. La localisation parfaite, à la campagne mais proche de grandes villes (Montpellier, Nîmes...), et la région magnifique. L'équipement de la maison est très appréciable, avec tout le confort necessaire pour passer de bonnes vacances. La cour extérieure est magnifique et très agréable. Je recommande cette propriété sans hésitation.

- deutsche Bewertung siehe unten (la version allemande en bas) - On a bien apprécié le séjour dans la maison de Mme Morise (fin aout / début septembre). Nous sommes un couple et on est restés pour deux semaines dans cette belle et très grande maison avec une belle cour et un chat. Environnement: La maison est située dans un joli, petit village (Saint Etienne d’Escattes) entre Sommières et Calvisson ( il vous faut une voiture). La route pour aller à Calvisson passe directement à côté de la maison, passe par le village. Les marchés, supermarchés, tabac , cafés, boulangerie sont à Souvignargues, Sommière ou Calvisson. En voiture: 5 minutes de Calvisson et 10 minutes de Sommières / 30 minutes de Nîmes / 1 heure pour aller à Montpellier ou à la mer (conseil: plage de l’Espiguette – c’est magnifique). La maison: Dans un environnement magnifique – entre les vignobles et la garrigue - on a passé nos vacances dans une maison qui est très bien équipée dans la cuisine, la salle de bain, les chambres etc – en fait partout. Il ne manque rien. Wir haben in diesem schönen Haus zwei Wochen verbracht (Ende August bis ca Mitte September). Es liegt in einem kleinen, hübschen Dorf in Saint Etienne d’Escattes zwischen Sommières und Calvisson). Die Durchgangsstraße nach Calvisson führt direkt am Haus vorbei. Das Haus ist sehr gut ausgestattet mit allem – es fehlt wirklich in keinem Raum an nichts (vom Handtuch, über Grill bis zu den Töpfen – alles da) – auch eine Katze, die versorgt werden will - und die Anbindung an die umliegenden Dörfer (Calvisson mit Dorfcharakter und Sommières eine sehr schöne Kleinstadt) ist in 5 bis 10 Minuten mit dem Auto zu erreichen. (Montpellier – 1 h / Nimes 30 min). Direkte Einkaufsmöglichkeiten gibt es in den genannten Dörfern (der Markt am Sonntag in Calvisson hat mir persönlich am besten gefallen – sehr regional). Tipp für den Strand: plage d’Espiguette ist ca 1 h entfernt, aber das lohnt sich – im September war hier kaum mehr was los – einsamer Strand, aber auch am Mitte des Parkplatzes nette Strandbar . Es kostet 6 Euro pro Tag (Parkgebühren), aber wie gesagt, man hat über mehr als 3 km Strand mit Dünenlandschaft : Auswahl an Kite-Surf-Schulen, einsame Stellen und weiter hinten die Strandbar.

A lovely and spacious house with heaps of originality and that rustic French country feel. The very private courtyard works like a second living room. Put on your sunhat, sit back and listen to the singing of the cicadas. Lovely country walks between the rows of wine just outside the hamlet. Montpellier, Nimes or the coast are not far away either.

Saint-Étienne d'Escattes is part of the parish of Souvignargues, about 30 minutes from Nimes and 45 minutes from the beaches around La Grande Motte. The nearest baker is in Souvignargues, and there are supermarkets in Sommières and Caveirac. The village is definitely quiet - the only audible commotion occurring when the school bus arrived in the afternoon - and the neighbours are friendly. The photos give an accurate idea of what to expect: it has real character complemented by some period furniture, stone walls and large, open rooms with high ceilings. If anything, the bedrooms and sitting-room are larger than they appear on the photos. The thick walls meant that opening the windows in the morning was enough to keep the rooms cool all day in August, and that we never heard a peep from the neighbours. Downstairs there is a very large sitting-room, a dining area cum hall and a kitchen with a table which seats 6 comfortably. There are three large bedrooms upstairs, one with a wash-hand basin and shower. The large bathroom has a shower and a bath and doors leading to one of the bedrooms and the landing. There are two lavatories, one downstairs and one reached via the bathroom. The kitchen is well equipped and we did not miss anything. Basic spices, condiments, toilet-roll were provided. The courtyard offers everyone their preferred choice of sun or shade and guaranteed privacy: we spent a number of our lazier days relaxing in the deck-chairs. The owner is very welcoming and was very helpful throughout our stay. Her cat is friendly without being intrusive (it lives outside) and is happy enough being fed and watered once a day: though glad of any attention he can get, naturally. One of our party is allergic to some cats, but had no problems whatsoever. This house is huge and extremely charming with a nice outdoor space - great for families. It has a big bathroom with a tub and separate shower. The owner is extremely helpful and friendly. It's not close to anything, like cafés or shops, but very quiet and in a good location to visit Nîmes, Arles, and Montpellier. You should not rent this house if you are allergic to cats. I recommend it highly.

This large, modern home in the midst of vineyards and olive trees provides an interesting balance of old and new. Old in the sense that the structure is 200+ years old and served a different purpose years ago (as you can see in the feeding trough cleverly incorporated inside) to the modern kitchen and great WiFi. The house is about a six minute drive to Calvissson and is in the small village of St. Etienne d'Escatte. Sommiers is about 12 minutes, Nimes 25 and Arles/Avignon 50. It is very, very quite and the stars at night are clear as ever. We enjoyed the large courtyard for having a class of wine, small treats and the BBQ. Inside on the first floor is a well-equipped kitchen, dining area, large sitting room. Upstairs the bedrooms and baths. It is clean and comfortable. Alice met us on our arrival and gave the tour. She and her associates are available at any time should there be a problem, but there were none at all during the entire stay. That said, we were very impressed with her concern about our happiness and having a great stay. Before renting a new place one always tends to look for the downside. There really isn't any here. IF there were to be one, I would not recommend this home if you are looking for nightlife and a bistro across the street. If you want quiet, a peaceful walk or run through vineyards, privacy and just to be left alone, this should be on your list.
