We had issues with check in time which was late (6pm), however the property was not ready until 7.30pm because an issue withe cleaners. We found the house quite dirty. Dirty floors, carpet, room furniture, sheets, kitchen utensils etc. Very disappointing having to clean ourselves after a long car trip but contacted the property manager and they responded right away. House needs to be thoroughly clean and needs updates. Furniture is very worn out and dirty

My wife and I stayed at Life's a Beach for twelve nights with our two dogs, plus a couple of friends joined us for a few days. We love Destiny-by-the-Sea and have rented homes there on several occasions. We really enjoyed this particular property, and hope to stay here again in the future. The top floor master bedroom was spacious and luxurious, with a quiet balcony and elegant desk that came in handy for some unavoidable telework commitments. The bottom floor includes a 2-car garage, queen bedroom, and kids' bunk room with gaming chairs, and a Jack & Jill bathroom. The middle floor has a queen bedroom, full bathroom, powder room, large living area, dining area, kitchen with counter and stools, and a very large balcony with a gas grill. Tons of space that our small party hardly took advantage of! The house was very clean and well-stocked with towels and other items, and all of the appliances and thermostats worked great. We enjoyed the short stroll back and forth to the beach several times a day. We had some special requests that were accommodated by the owner and management company, and we received excellent customer service. I honestly can't think of anything that would have made our stay more enjoyable, it was really a perfect twelve days at Life's a Beach!

Overall we enjoyed our stay at Life’s a Beach. The beach is only about a couple minute walk, the neighborhood felt safe, and the staff at the gate were very kind. The pool is very nice and clean. Don’t forget your bracelets, some people did and it’s really an inconvenience for the staff to have to be rude because you didn’t follow the rules.
Now, for the negative and hopefully constructive feedback.
When we arrived: the house was not clean. It was certainly not clean enough to justify a huge cleaning charge like we had. There is dust under and behind all the furniture. There was a load of clothes in the dryer that we had to take care of. The floors had not been swept and mopped. The microwave doesn’t work. The refrigerator and stove didn’t work. The grill was gross and there were dirty tools left. There are no cleaning supplies. I reached out to the management company. They informed me it would be within 48 hours and I told them that wasn’t acceptable due to us having 9 of us and we have to be able to cook. They sent their maintenance team and brought a new grill. They were able to get the stove to work. The microwave is now on order. The ice machine has to be started when you get there by clicking the arm down. The carpets are in a desperate need of someone to take the time to clean them. Furniture is worn but that’s to be expected in a rental
These things were inconvenient but we made the best of it. Not worth the amount of money we spent on the cleaning for sure.

Check in process was seamless and communication through out our stay was top notch.
Kitchen was stocked with everything you could possibly need and refrigerator water and ice dispenser we’re in good working condition (at the beach this is very important).
Furniture in this unit is high quality.
Cleanliness was than ideal and the lower level was musty. that is the only reason I didn’t give 5 stars.

What we loved about this property: that is was dog friendly, in a gated community, close walk to the beach, top floor suite couldn’t hear activity on 1st & 2nd floors. There were 5 bikes, scooter, some beach chairs and wagons in the garage.
What we thought could use improvement: The property could benefit from a deep cleaning, communication-too many different people, Property Management to manage the property better - inspecting property after cleaning to make sure property is ready for next guest - are pool wrist bands, garage remote there? Are dishes clean and enough per occupancy? Do sinks drain, do light bulbs need to be replaced. We checked in on Sat and didn’t get pool wristbands until Monday afternoon - apparently previous guest took. The 1st floor side entrance light wasn’t working - the entrance has no railing and it is a hazard in the dark - someone could fall. We were unable to change the bulb ourselves as we needed a tool to remove the globe over the bulb - no tools at the home - repeatedly asked for it to be fixed while there but wasn’t. Will email more details of things we noticed or experienced.

we went to Destin for a family reunion. We were 11 adults and one dog. We had so much fun! The house was more than we expect! The location of it was 3 min walking to the beach. It also had bikes that we used them to go around the neighborhood. The communication with property manager was excellent! My cousin left her wallet at the house the day of the check out and they helped her to find it and also to send it to Dallas, Tx where she lives. Thank you! We highly recommended it

Great neighborhood. Very well kept gated community. Living area and dinning area very small. Make sure all of your questions prior to paying are answered in writing. Things that were wrong with the property were not addressed during the stay. Excuse was hard to get things scheduled during peak season. No one on site to talk with personally except security at gate and not always friendly. I could list a lot of negative things however my family and I (11) total did make the house work and enjoyed the time together. Neighborhood was very well maintained just lots of miscommunication on phone call prior to booking.

Last minute vacation
The property and gated community was amazing. The house was stocked with basic supplies and ready to relax. We enjoyed the clean and less crowded private beach. Ramped access to the beach would be nice to take all the extra things with kids.

Awesome for families
This house is in a great location and is awesome for families with young kids. We traveled to Destin with our neighbors and collectively had six kids under age 10. The bottom floor with the bunkbed room was their favorite part of the trip. It also gave adults some time upstairs to enjoy company without kids constantly begging for snacks!

Amazing location! Loved the 1 minute walk to the private beach which was the cleanest beach we’ve experienced so far! The house is decorated super cute so you feel right at home. We needed toilet paper which we couldn’t find in the house (thankfully, we made it til the last day). All in all, a really great experience!

Not great but okay. Not the value for the money
Property needs upgrades. Floors and furnishings were not clean. I am not sure if cleaners did not show up or what. Kitchen utensils, pans and pots are in poor condition, need replacement. Too many broken handles, malfunctioning appliances etc to even report. Most of them worked but barely. Overall it is an okay property not worth the price.

Nice location: lot of association rules :(
The neighborhood was beautiful and quiet, with a great community pool and private beach access. However the listing failed to mention that you cannot rent a golf cart due to association banning rental gulf carts. Only owners that have gulf carts at property already are allowed which was very frustrating to find out after we book since we planned on using the golf cart to haul all our stuff to the public beach everyday because the private beach you are not allow to even put up an umbrella of your own. They all have to be rented which is again very frustrating to spend all this money on a house with a private beach we couldn't really use unless we wanted to spend even more money every day on a small nearly useless umbrella for our size family of 6.
The cleanliness left much to be desired, sand everywhere when we first arrived. I understand its a beach house but literally me and my other family members just swept and vacuumed the floors and wouldn't you know it we didn't feel like we were walking on the beach anymore. Our feet where also black from walking around in the house there is no way they clean the floors. There were sticky pieces of candy on our bathroom floor and in kids bedroom popcorn and food pieces everywhere. Once I brought all these issues to there attention they refunded our cleaning fee at least but that is not how you want to start your vacation by cleaning for three hours to make yourself feel comfortable especially since our check in time wasn't until 6pm due to "COVID CLEANING" yeah right there wasn't even basic cleaning let alone additional covid cleaning done.
Overall the location was great and it was a nice neighborhood but probably wouldn't stay in this house again since no gulf cart included, and cleanliness of the house.

This community Destiny by the sea is being ruined by their HOA! We could not bring our own umbrellas which we were not told in advance about that. Apparently this just changed in October, so now they make you rent umbrellas which of you don’t do in advance you will be way down the beach and not close to the beach access. The steps walking down to the beach do not meet standard building codes as they are way to steep. Definitely not a place to bring elderly folks who have trouble walking because they do not have anything to help those people to the beach! Overall a very miserable stay and will not go back to Destin again! Very disappointing that you spend this kind of money on a house to turn around and spend 500.00 more to rent umbrellas that we were not told that we must rent!

Fantastic Location
The location of the property was fantastic! There is private beach access just a block away. Secure and gated community with one heated pool and Jacuzzi tub. The only negative comment is the check out time, which was nine and the check-in time wasn’t until six, though I understand there are more thorough cleaning procedures going on because of Covid. Fortunately we were able to get in prior to 6 PM but that is a very early check out and late check-in time. In addition the “guest preparation fee“ which is the basically the cleaning fee, was almost $700. That is extremely high compared to other properties in the area I inquired, but I would still definitely rent again.

Fall Break Destin
Great property with plenty of room for our 8 guests. Home was clean and check-in was very easy. Great location for the Destin area. We loved the private beach access and enjoyed the great sunsets there. Only complaint was the community pool was not heated. It was clearly stated that was the case, but given that many homes in the community participate in vacation rentals, consideration should be made so you can enjoy all areas of the property.

Love neighborhood. Needs floor cleaning and new bed linens
The floors in the living room and kitchen were very dirty. Needs to be swept and steam cleaned. The bed linens in the master bedroom had stains and need to be replaced. The carpet on stairs needs cleaning as well. There was not a basic cookie sheet for baking cookies or biscuits etc. The kitchen needs to add a variety of cookie/baking pans. The house was nice it just needs some attention. The master bathtub would hardly drain. The hallway by the laundry room lightbulbs were blinking. It would be nice if the fireplace was working for fall break visitors. We loved the bunk room and connecting bedroom for older children. The beach chairs, bikes and toys were great to have in the garage. We have stayed in this neighborhood for over 15 years and love the area.

Great Escape from the year 2020
After the first 7 and a half months of 2020 and cancelling 4 prior trips, this is exactly what we needed.
We will never go back to staying in a condo. We stay in Destin yearly. This is the first time we’ve rented a beach house. We were skeptical at first because it wasn’t directly on the beach. Some of the people staying with us don’t like having to walk across the street. This is a gated community on the beach, you don’t have to walk across any main streets. I felt like the walk to the beach was the equivalent of staying at a condo (walking down the halls to the elevator, to the walk way, to the beach). It took less than 5 minutes to get there.
The house was very spacious. This is one of the main reasons we loved it. We had three separate family’s/generations with us so we each got our own floor when it came time to wind down. It was super close to Destin Commons which is a favorite of ours. There were umbrellas and chairs in the house, as well as bikes which we all *attempted* to ride. It was such a fun stay. The pool was super nice and warm as well.
There was one instance shortly after arrival where something appeared to have been spilled in the bathroom by the previous renters. The home owners came and cleaned it. They checked in periodically to make sure everything was good and we had everything we needed.
We will definitely be back and highly recommend this home and community to everyone!

Great location - Private beach access was amazing!
The location of this property really can't be beat. With private beach access, it really made the trip incredibly enjoyable. Especially after we saw how crowded the public beaches were. The facility itself could use some TLC, thoughtful items for visitors and an extremely well done deep clean. We had an infant with us that could not walk and the floors in the home were caked with grime and leftover furballs from previous tenants and the upstairs bathroom smelled like no one had found the actual toilet for use. These are only a couple of many items we were taken back by in regards to cleanliness. We addressed the cleanliness with the management post-stay and hope they follow through with a thorough inspection of future cleans. The property was "ready" on time, checking in and out was incredibly easy, and we thoroughly enjoyed the beach being so close.

Christmas Vacation
Love the property!! Stay for a week with my three kids and two furry babies and had a fantastic time. We like how close the beach access was to the house. I will miss my walks around the property with my dogs.

Great in Destiny by the Sea
I would recommend this house for a couple of families as it is spacious, well located and good value. Only negative is the lower staircase leading to basement needs rug cleaning as it seems to have some dog smells. Great place.

Good location, needs some better cleaning
We loved the location and house and Ron was very nice who greeted us upon arrival. It was stocked well with plenty of towels and kitchen utensils. Just a couple of suggestions for the cleaning crew... it would be great if they steam mopped the floors as they were really dirty as seen on everyone’s socks. Under the master bedroom bed/ nightstands was really dirty and dusty. The mold in the vents (stairwell) and mold in the shower floor corners could be easily steamed and bleached away and possibly re-caulked.

The house was wonderful overall. However, the floors and shower was not clean. Beds were wonderful, and air conditioner was wonderful as well. There were a lot of water bugs, but I could tell the garage had been exterminated.

Great house
Beautiful house, just as advertised! This was an amazing house and very close to the beach. Check in was great, met one of the property managers at the house while checking in, he was extremely nice. Had to wait to check in for a little but because the cleaning crew wasn’t done cleaning till a little after 7pm but I understand stuff happens. The neighborhood is beautiful, gated so we felt safe with our teenage kids walking back and forth to the beach alone. Honestly an amazing house in an awesome neighborhood, the only negative at all was security cruising around in golf carts can be a little bit strict. Granted my group did get a little loud at times, they don’t play. The neighborhood pool and hot tub were really nice during rainy days but you can’t have drinks “on the pool deck around the edge of the pool” you can at the tables just not on the edge of the pool. The hot tub is for age 13 or older and has a max of 7 or 8 people and security is not afraid to call you out for not following these rules. All and all an amazing trip, amazing house and beautiful beach, security could’ve loosened up a little but I understand you have to have rules to keep the place nice and nice it is!

Spacious, Family-friendly, and CLEAN!
Listing description was accurate. Lots of extras that the kids could enjoy(Corn Hole, Bikes, and even an XBOX). I know, it's supposed to be vacation...but it was a life-saver for the obligatory rainy day.
The owner(Manager?) was super helpful with all of the codes, beach access, and nearby food spots. Only thing I suggested to Sarah was a way to rent a Yolo board...It's our favorite thing to do in when at the beach. Thanks again!!
