Compramos esta casa cuando nuestros hijos eran pequeños. Usamos los 2 dormitorios de abajo y alquilamos la unidad superior de 3 dormitorios. This is a charming house that has almost everything you would want at the beach. The kitchen has everything you would need. Plenty of eating areas in and outside. The pool area was very nice with sun coverings and plenty of chairs. I really appreciated the great supply of beach chairs.
The only thing missing is a covered porch on beach side. We love coming to Holden beach and our favorite past time when not on the beach is sitting in rocking chairs on the porch and looking at the ocean
The house is a duplex, we were the only renters during our stay, I don’t know that I would have enjoyed the place if sharing the space with other renters. But would be perfect for family and friends to share a space.

Thank you so much for letting us stay at your rental. It was an amazing trip, and the house had everything we possibly needed. There was plenty of space for our 3 kids, my husband and myself. Having the pool and beach all in one spot was very convenient. The outdoor showers were a plus as well. I would definitely recommend to anyone to stay at this beautiful home. The ice cream store was just steps away, We could walk there everyday. Drinking my coffee in the enclosed porch was the hilight of my mornings.

This is the second year we've spent our spring vacation at Wind Beneath My Wings. We love the cottage, the location is wonderful. Holden Beach is a great little escape from the world for a bit. Beth and Bill are wonderful, so helpful with letting you know where to go and what's goi g on in the area.

Can’t beat the walk out access to the beach and the pool to take a dip in in the hot afternoon! Walkable to cute little ice cream shop and general store and easy drive to several restaurants. Great location and great family rental! Beth was also very attentive!

Communication with the owners was great. The amenities in the upper unit are excellent! From the Florida room over looking the beach, to the salt water pool in the front. It was just what we (and our doggo) were hoping it would be. We'll be looking to stay here again when we come back 🙂

First I want to say Beth was the absolute best. She quickly responded to any questions we had, offered restaurant suggestions, and let us know activities happening around holden. She checked in on us to make sure everything was going good. The house was lovely. It is right on the beach. The back covered porch was wonderful to sit on and hear and see the ocean. My kids loved the heated pool! The house was well stocked with everything you could need, pots, pans, utensils, beach chairs, and kids sand toys. If your looking for a nice quiet place to stay that has all your vacation needs definitely consider staying here.

The house was perfect. Perfect location on the beach and this house had everything we needed both inside and outside. Did I mention the beautiful heated pool? Restaurants, grocery store, gift shops…..almost anything you need is very close by also. I honestly did not want to leave!

My wife and I have spent a week in October in Wind Beneath my Wings during each of the past three years. Our visits have been "working holidays" where we work quite hard (remotely, obviously), but not as hard as when we are home and where we enjoy the chance to take take frequent walks on the beach and even swim. Holden Beach is a really pleasant and quiet barrier island-- not nearly as crowded as some of the neighboring islands-- a very peaceful atmosphere. I reviewed this place three years ago after our first visit. I here give an updated review in light of upgrades to this rental that were completed earlier this year (2022). The fact that we have chosen this unit three years in a row reflects features that we find particularly appealing about this beachfront rental. First, it has a great windowed/screened-in porch facing the ocean. Not only do we take our meals out there, but my wife sets up her computer out there and works about 8 hours a day there, enjoying the sunlight and proximity to the ocean. By opening or closing the windows it is possible to maintain a comfortable temperature there even in late October. Second, this rental has great internet and the TVs work well and are easy to control. Third, we love the wooden floors in the living room and bedrooms. We also like the kitchen. When we have visited, we have never had been more than 3 people, but the layout of the three bedrooms and the combined kitchen/dining room/family room space is such that I estimate it could accommodate up to 7, comfortably. New features as of 2022 include interior upgrades (one bathroom redone, new kitchen counter, and new kitchen sink) as well a new and much-expanded front deck and stairway and a ground-level heated swimming pool (not large, but a really nice 5 foot deep pool with a deck and fence around it-- we really enjoyed it). The owners (Bill and Beth DuVall) are extremely communicative and responsive, it has been a stress-free pleasure renting from them. Plenty of parking space. The lower unit was not occupied this year when we visited, but it has been occupied in previous years and there was no sense that there were any problems with privacy-- hardly noticed anyone was down there.

Truthfully, I worry that if I (and everyone else) continue to leave 5 star reviews that this place will book up so far in advance by repeat "stayers" like us that eventually it'll be super hard to grab a week of beach time... But it's true, if you're looking for a cozy family ocean front house, this is the one to visit. This was our second stay and we're hoping to book two more weeks next year. The owners are great, the kitchen is big enough and equipped enough with a good layout to actually cook meals if you're so inclined especially considering the fresh fish market a 5 minute drive away.

Fun filled time
The house was immaculate and decorated in the most lovely way. There was more than enough room to accommodate us all. Our group included 4 adults and 2 children. There are 2 enclosed porches, one on the front next to the pool and one on the back next to the ocean. The location was great. Just a few steps from the ocean. Gathering sea shells was a great past time. After a day in the sand the outdoor shower was wonderful to get the unwanted sand washed away. The pool was the perfect size. We had a cold snap in the weather but the heated pool definitely made up for it. We dined out three evenings and had home delivery one evening. If you wanted to eat all meals in the kitchen is fully equipped to accommodate all your needs.

Awesome Oceanfront House; Equally Awesome Owner
This house was spot on for our needs and Holden Beach is a quiet laid back area. Like a home away from home, the house is cozy and comfortable. We selected this home because it has an enclosed sun porch which allowed us to enjoy being on the ocean without being out in the wind and weather. Four of us are quilters; we set up our machines on the picnic table in the sun porch. Totally perfect to piece away when we weren't hanging on the deck or beach walking. Beth, the owner is super responsive, when we didn't have the proper sets of sheets, she delivered a set a few hours after we contacted her. We'll definitely be back!

Perfect Anniversary Getaway
This was our first time visiting Holden Beach but it won't be our last. The location was beyond perfect and we had the beach to ourselves! Our dog was in heaven chasing his ball and walking on the beach every day. Owners were wonderful and very helpful with suggestions when asked. Always responded quickly.

This was our second October stay at Wind Beneath my Wings--I wrote a uniformly positive review a year ago and won't repeat what I put there. This rental was just as good the 2nd time around as it was a year ago. Indeed, some fixtures appeared to have been updated since our last visit. Our stay at this unit was again for a "working vacation". Perfect place for this. My wife likes to work on the screened-in porch facing the Ocean (with sliding storm windows)-- such porches are actually not all that common in beach houses. We also had most of our meals on the porch. I worked mostly inside. Very good wireless internet. Nice TVs and cable as well--we watched a lot of baseball in the evenings. The owners are very responsive to queries. We'll likely be back again a year from now! We love it that, at least in October, you can see both sunrises and sunsets over the Ocean. Watching the full moon rise above the horizon from on the nearby pier is also not to be missed.

Fabulous Vacation
This beach house has become my family’s home away from home. We come twice a year and have a fabulous vacation every time. The house is always very clean and comfortable, and stocked with all kinds of fun beach toys that my 5 year old son absolutely loves- we don’t have to bring anything of our own for him to play with. I love the fact that there is no second row of homes behind this house, which means no crowd at all out on the beach in front of the house. The location is ideal- far enough away from public beach access to have plenty of beach privacy, but also close enough to walk on the beach to the pier and the ice cream shop. We love our vacation traditions- fishing on the pier, fishing at a nearby (free) dock on the inlet water, and doing a two hour boat fishing trip with H2O tours. Holden Beach is a great balance of being a quiet, private beach and also having nice restaurants to choose from for dinner. We always do takeout for our dinner and eat on the fully enclosed porch, because no restaurant could beat the beautiful porch view of the water and sound of the waves. I love the fact that we walk down the steps of the deck and are already on the beach. The homeowners are friendly and responsive, we always enjoy our communications with them. I highly recommend this vacation beach home!

Paradise Get Away
I can't say enough about this wonderful beach house and the terrific owners Beth & Bill! It is obvious when you step into the beach house how much love and care went into the homes decor and efforts to make guests comfortable. The ocean is literally steps away from the deck. If you're looking for a family friendly beach this is the place. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you could need for meal preparation, The beds were comfortable, the enclosed porch was perfect to sip your morning coffee and watch the waves roll in. Plenty of beach chairs and sand toys are at the cottage as well. We made numerous runs to Food Lion located just over the bridge. There is a great park with swings and jungle gym in close proximity that our children enjoyed going to. The home and location are top notch. We look forward to returning next year. Wonderful stay in Holden Beach
We had a wonderful week, and cannot wait to come back. I am very picky when it comes to rental properties, and I was very pleased we found this one. It is very clean, and cozy. The location is perfect, you are only steps away from the beach and there is a cute little general store just a few minutes away that is easily accessible by foot. The beach area is very quiet, not at all like the party atmosphere of Myrtle Beach. Holden Beach is a magical place, and staying here made our stay even more enjoyable. Great Family Get Away
If you are looking for a quiet beach get away--this is it! The beach is beautiful and all you really need....sunrises and sunsets...shells to find...a patio for morning yoga on the beach. Very quiet off season (which is what we wanted!). The house is dog friendly with a deposit. The kids loved the bunk beds! What more can you ask? There is a grocery store and a fish market just a few miles down the road for supplies. I'd recommend take out from Provision Company, too (Shrimp burger is great).

Great place for a working holiday
My wife and I stayed here a week during October, treating this trip as a working holiday, where we did our normal work remotely through the internet. The internet connections were great and we had a wonderful week. This cottage is well-worn, but kept up to date, clean and comfortable. The enclosed porch was perfect for fall weather and we loved the hardwood floors--unusual among the many beach houses we have stayed at over the years. The TV was new and easy to use (there are TVs in all three BR plus the big on in the living room). There was another couple in the downstairs unit, but we at no point felt there were any privacy issues. The DuValls were very helpful and communicative. Hope to come back!

This was our second stay here and I cannot rave enough about it. Our first trip was in April last year and this year we ventured out in mid October.. both times were amazing weather wise. We have stayed in both units and there is everything you need and then some to be very comfortable. Beth and Bill are wonderful hosts and are top notch when it comes to communication. We cannot wait to book our next visit. If sunrises and sunsets are your thing then this is where you want to be for sure. The property is just steps to the beach or,you can also just enjoy the view from the back deck.

I just came back from a week at Holden Beach with my husband and 4 year old son. It was a fantastic week stayingat the Wing Beneath My Wings beach rental house:) It was our first time on the North Carolina coast. I had a ton of questions ahead of time and more while we were there- the homeowner was always patient, responsive, and knowledgeable. The house itself was beautiful. We were in the upstairs unit, with a beautiful ocean view. I loved the fact that the house had both a deck and a screened in porch. We had breakfast out on the deck every morning, overlooking the water. On the days when the wind picked up in the evening or there was a little rain, it was great to have the screened in porch. We opened all of the porch windows to hear the waves and could look out at the water. We had dinner in the screened in porch every evening. The porch was well stocked with beach toys and toy vehicles, to the delight of my son. The beds and furniture were comfortable and the house was clean. The kitchen had all of the cookware and tableware that we needed. I loved the location of this house on Holden Beach. It is in a stretch of the beach where there is no back row of houses on the other side of the street, so there is no beach access from the street. That meant that we had a ton of space and privacy on the beach in front of the house, there were very few other people on that stretch of beach. It was a short walk on the beach to the pier, which my son loved. Also it was a short walk to the little general store, and the ice cream parlor. We chose the date of our trip for the end of September for my son’s 4th birthday. It was a happy coincidence that this date, being considered offseason, meant we were able to bring our dog on the beach. It was great that the house allowed our dog. The homeowner had sent me information before the trip in response to my request for a fishing excursion for my son. Her recommendation was perfect and my son absolutely loved it. We grocery shopped when we arrived for most of our meals, and did a few takeout restaurant meals for dinner. The restaurants in the area were great. We are definitely planning to return to this house for an annual vacation, I am so glad we found this place! Next time, post-Covid, we plan on exploring the area more when we are there.

Beth was wonderful to work with and very responsive. Check in was very easy. Our family of five enjoyed a beautiful week on the beach. The location is perfect.....down the short staircase and you're in the sand! This home is a traditional beach cottage.....not fancy but clean and very cute. It worked perfectly for us!

Perfect!
We loved Wind Beneath My Wings. It was just what we wanted. It was quiet, relaxing and very comfortable. Just a few steps to the beach. You could hear the surf at night. Beth and Bill were very accomodating - they even welcomed us with freshly cut flowers in a vase on the table when we arrived! Lots of room and a fully equipped kitchen. Just a few minutes to fresh seafood and groceries. We look forward to coming back again soon!

Fall beach vacation
This is a great place right on the beach. Beth was wonderful in keeping us updated as hurricane Dorian had just come through 3 weeks prior to our stay. Luckily everything was ok. When we arrived it was so clean and inviting. We had a great time and love the porch Oceanside where you could take your coffee and see the beach early in the mornings. We would definitely recommend!

Wonderful Time
Wind Beneath My Wings upstairs unit was just perfect for our family of 4. We had a wonderful stay. The house was clean and tidy when we arrived. The kitchen was stocked with everything you need to cook. There were plenty of sand toys my kids could use. The view is just perfect and it is just steps away from the water. I was actually happily surprised that it was closer than what the pictures show. Beth answered every question i had quickly and sent us lots of information about the restaurants and activities on the island and the surrounding areas. We will be back for sure. Thank you Bill and Beth for being a part of my family's first vacation. It was amazing!!

Very nice, clean and pet friendly ocean front home with screened in front and back porch. Loved sitting on the front screened in porch with the best view ever. We were welcomed with a card for our family as well as a beautiful vase of fresh flowers. What a wonderful and welcoming touch. Owners are great and easy to work with. Quick response to any questions we had. Kitchen was well stocked with plenty of pots and pans and bowls. This was our dog, Duke’s first trip to the beach and he loved it as much as we did. Being able to take him with us made our stay the best ever and we are truly grateful!! Walking distance to the Pier and General Store was a plus. Great restaurants close by with the best ice cream “Beaches and Cream “ in Holden. We had an incredible family vacation!!
