Très bien situé à l'entrée de Beatty pour accéder à Death Valley et Rhyolite. Accès également à pied au centre de Beatty.
Village dans son jus. A vivre !
Lit confortable. Douche pratique. Wifi gratuit.
Piscine (que nous n'avons cependant pas eu le temps de tester)
Mobilier très vieillot. Moquette au sol et chaises tachées. Le reste avait l'air propre ms la moquette aurait besoin d'un coup de jeune, de même que les dessus de lit.

I love small, quaint motels and El Portal was great. Room was clean and had the amenities needed for our 4 day stay. From check in to check out we had no complaints. Beds were comfortable, rooms was clean and quiet. I love the nostalgia of earlier times. They have a house cat named Mittens who is very friendly and is a great touch. I would definitely stay here again.
p.s Mittens roams the property, does not go in the rooms.
No complaints

Had all we needed (family of 4) for a stop-over. Loved the pool. Good recommendation for dinner.

The room was pretty big and with all the needs (lots of towels!). The cats in the office were the cutest thing ever, love them! Thanks

This is a basic motel but it completely met our needs during our time there. The employees were truly helpful and checked in with us to make sure everything was going well. The room was clean. The location is close to some good restaurants and is an excellent jumping off point for exploring Death Valley and nearby sites. Watch for burros on the road as you leave town!
Our neighours were noisy one night but the motel employees came by to check on us afterward which was great.

Staff is accessible and wants to be helpful.
Carpets in the room were old and dirty. The shower had to be adjusted just right otherwise water pressure is so high that you can get hurt. Shower area had mildew. The fleece layer of the blanket was hairy from past guests.

The spaciousness, the details such as the coffe maker, the microwave the refrigerator, the cleaning service

Location was very good and staff pleasant. Room had a comfortable, clean bed and clean tub, but shower head was bad.
Office smelled bad on both of our visits, but cat was nice. Shower head bad and spray so hard that I couldn't stand in it (# 17). Room was not very clean; stuff on floor and mirrors, chairs and tabletop were sticky too. We stayed in another room here and was much nicer.

Nice place quite close to death valley. Quick accomodation and clean room with microwave in it.

Friendly staff. Cute family run hotel. Close to death valley and reasonable price. Sweetest little cat in the lobby :).
It's an older hotel with limited funds for extensive upgrades, but that being said room was in need of upgrades. Carpets were stained and bathroom ceiling over shower appeared to have mold. But can't ask for too much given the cheap price. Would recommend if on a budget.

The stay location is cebtral to Las Vegas and death valley national park. There was food options for vegetarian restrictions.

Um...the beds were comfy? The employees nice and polite, if not really competent. The woman who was on call second shift at least tried.
I mean, location? Closest point to the Death Valley Park Visitors Center and areas where I could do day hikes. Like, half hour to 45 minutes. The free museum across the street was interesting, tho closes at 3.
My FIRST room I had to replace a light bulb, then some folks, including one employee and maybe two, decided to have a party in the parking lot in front of my room, starting with an electric saw going for an hour cutting up wooden slats for firewood. Then they hung out with a BBQ grill. I asked to be moved to another room, and to her credit, the woman on call for second shift (people were rarely in the office) did move me.
My second room, however, the hot water heater was broken, and the control knob for the bath/shower was broken. The aformentioned woman did offer to move me for my third night to yet another room but I was just already spread out.

This is a great location for us when we stay in Beatty. It is clean and well kept. The staff is personable. Professional, but with just the right amount of a welcome that feels like we're visiting friends.

the room is out dated but it has everything you need in the room for a comfortable stay. its a small town and might be the only hotel there. a little pricy for what you typically get in a big city but this is In very remote area.
the room smell (not odor) maybe due to the age of the building. room is in the darker side.

Good stopping point for our trip to Valley of Fire state park. Roomy, quiet, reasonable price.
It was old, somewhat clean, walls marred, bathtub grout a bit gross, needs some updating.
