We had a really wonderful stay at Villa 23. The unit is very well maintained, nicely decorated, and was neat and clean. Everything was in good working order, and the owner provided a new golf cart as well as beach chairs & beach towels. We grilled most of our dinners, and the grill worked well. The kitchen was also well supplied with everything we needed. We loved the location on BHI and the beach is one of the prettiest we have seen on the east coast. We would certainly go back again and rent this same Villa and highly recommend it.

Villa 23 checks all the boxes. Centrally located with an ocean view. Clean and recently updated interior. A bonus outdoor area for relaxing. Our family really enjoyed our recent stay!

Nice comfy Villa a stone's throw from South Beach
It was our first trip to BHI so we had a lot to learn. What a great place to visit! Communication was good with the owner and she made things easy with general instructions, how the ferry worked, etc. This Villa is older but well kept and with good decor and household amenities. Great location -- could see the water from the deck.
No real complaints other than the comforters on the kids beds in the loft not being clean when we checked in. Not a huge deal -- we washed them in the washer in the garage first thing. Other than that all was nice and tidy! Only other pieces of advice would be to add a few hooks inside in bedrooms and bathrooms for towels, wet bathing suits etc. so not everything would have to go out on the deck to dry, etc.. That, and the toaster needs replaced (had to hold it down to cook the bread). First world problems, right?
One piece of advice for renters (and this is no knock on this home in any way) is we did not enjoy our time at all at the Club that we paid to be a guest member of (and it wasn't cheap). We literally went 1x and we didn't go back. It's not that it wasn't nice (it actually was) but following all of their rules about when we could go, wrist bands with times that we could be in certain places, etc. Rules about when and how often we could make reservations for dinner etc. Dude, this is an island vacation -- I don't want to worry about being charged a penalty/fee for not showing up at a particular time to your pool. No thanks -- we will stick with going to the many awesome beaches and save the membership expense next time we visit.
The lagoon was very cool. Be careful, there are gators in the waters. You will see them if you are there for a few days and you look. We really enjoyed the view into the lagoon where you will see egrets and massive grass carp in the waters daily!
The golf cart was new and nice. Liked the games that were in the storage area. Clean garage -- some things that you will want to use (and not junked up like some garages tend to get). We used the grill 2x to grill up some prime beef from the Maritime market.
The loft really is only good for kids, but they really enjoyed the way it was laid out up there (good for 2 to sleep comfortably up there in beds).
In summary, if you are looking for an affordable and quaint place to stay in BHI, we would recommend Villa 23! (and get the pizza from Delphina. You are welcome!)

We just had an amazing 2 week stay at Villa 23! The Villa had everything that we needed and more! Natalie was so responsive with our questions and such a wonderful host. We loved having the BHI club access. The location of the Villa was just perfect and accessible to everything we needed. We loved sitting on the deck at night watching the ocean and looking for the alligator in the pond. Our kids LOVED all the games the Villa had and became quite competitive Yahtzee players! The brand new golf cart was a wonderful amenity. We will definitely be back next year! Thank you Natalie and Mike for sharing your wonderful home with us!

Amazing vacation
We just had an amazing 2 week stay at Villa 23! The Villa had everything that we needed and more! Natalie was so responsive with our questions and such a wonderful host. We loved having the BHI club access. The location of the Villa was just perfect and accessible to everything we needed. Nice clean Villa in a great location near beach access. BHI is a very quiet community with expansive beaches and scenic areas around the island. Great experience if you & your family can self entertain but if you are looking for night time action similar to OBX & Myrtle then this isn't your island.

Thought the place could of been cleaner. Under the cushions on couch and chair the was filthy. Looks like they have never been vacuumed or cleaned in years. Towels for showers was very limited where other places have more than enough.
Other than that the place was nice. The golf carts were good and the beach chairs were new and nice. Would be nice if they gave instructions as to how to work the television as we couldnt find the regular channels without alot of trial and error.

Updated BHI Villa
What a lovely villa for our stay at BHI. The villa was bright and airy and nice and clean. The house is very equipped with 2 4 passenger golf carts and one of them is brand new and zippy! Bathrooms were nice and living room furniture and beds were comfortable. Enjoyed our stay and the nice location to BHI Club and the beach.

CLEAN, well organized, amazing location with responsive owners
First, I have to admit that our family has been VERY risk adverse throughout these unprecedented times and I was very weary to travel outside of our bubble. The pre-arrival communication put me at ease and our arrival to the property confirmed we made the right decision to venture out to a safe location for family fun. Bald Head Island is always an amazing experience and this trip did not disappoint. Though restaurants were operating in a limited capacity, we found Villa 23 well equipped kitchen for those who decide to cook at home. The outside porches have more than sufficient furniture for dining and relaxing. For a family of four, we had more than enough space. Bikes, beach toys, chairs and umbrellas were in great condition. The game cabinet was very handy during our rainy days. On sunny days, we explored almost every beach access point on the island and each provided a new experience - wade pools, surf fishing, sand cliff jumping (not dunes), shell collecting. Also really enjoyed the Bald Head Island Conservatory trails. We look forward to renting again in the future - during COVID and beyond.

The amenities included were wonderful, beach chairs, umbrellas, etc. Very clean villa and nice decor. Would like to of had broom in closet, to sweep floors.

Great property and perfect location to beach and the club house pool!
The property is bright and airy. The bedrooms are separarted nicely if you have kids staying with you. The kitchen and bathrooms have been updated nicely. I work in hospitality and couldn't have been more pleased with the accommodations.

Great Villa on Bald Head Island!
Our family stayed a week in this villa conveniently located near the beach, marina, BHI Golf Club and shops. We had a wonderful vacation. This villa has all the amenities you'll need including beach towels! Don't bother packing all the beach accessories and board games because you will likely have all you'll need already there. I highly recommend this property for your next BHI vacation.

You can tell right as you pull up to this home that attention to detail was not missed. It is a gem of a property. Absolutely the cutest warm and well maintained home . A place you'll be proud to call your own. Bright, fresh and clean in a perfect location .it was walking distance to the golf and tennis which we love and across the street to the most amazing beach. Nothing is missing in this home . We had so much fun that we are going back this year.

Perfect beach getaway
This place was perfect for a beach getaway with our family. The unit was perfectly located for the beach or the BHI Club. The unit was very tastefully decorated, clean and had everything you need. We had the ideal vacation and was even able to see a nest of turtles hatch. The ease of having everything you needed for the beach such as towels, beach chairs, umbrellas, toys, etc., was a huge bonus. This was our first visit to BHI but plan to make it an annual trip. Beachy, breezy, and very pleasant!
This property is very spacious (we even had one unised bedroom with our family of four!). Decor is bright and clean and refreshing. Proximity to the Bald Head Island Club and the beach was just perfect! We loved our stay here and the owner is incredibly responsive. There is absolutely nothing not to like about this villa. We would recommend to family and friends!

Had at great time at your Bald Head retreat! Kitchen was well stocked with supplies for a cook, albeit kitchen was tight for more than one person to navigate. Appreciated all the beach chairs and umbrellas and all the extra supply of beach towels was terrific! My 16 month old granddaughter loved the close by pool and playground and my daughters (and myself) made good use of the work-out center at the club. Even enjoyed viewing our visiting alligators from your safe decks. One was I know a 12 footer! The hammock was a hit as well! A great time!!! Thank you for sharing your perfect niche!

Clean, comfortable, convenient
Unit was just as described & shown in photos. Spent 4 nights here with our 3 & 5 year olds kids. Location is central to the club & beach- both very close! It was so nice to just pack "light" as the prev reviewer mentioned...unit has everything you need for your stay, plus it's very clean, tastefully decorated, yet still comfortable. This was our first VRBO rental and it went so smoothly. Thanks Natalie.
