My husband & I arrived on a Saturday, and checked out the following Saturday. We both thoroughly enjoyed our rental through Mary & Jack. With updated interior, semi-secluded from busy road traffic, location close to family in next town & reasonable cost, this made for a pleasant experience for our week in Maine. We would definitely search for renting this specific listing, when planning a return trip to Maine.

Nice, cozy cottage with cove views gave us a good sense of privacy - leisurely breakfasts under the umbrella on the deck were especially nice - nicely located within easy drives of a number of good hiking preserves.

Henry’s Hideaway is the perfect location for a relaxing vacation. This cottage was clean, well maintained and the kitchen had all the basics. There are many preserves and trails to explore in the area. We started each day with coffee on the deck talking and listening to the birds. Thanks you for a wonderful vacation!

Bright and airy would describe Henry's HideAway. The Murphy Bed was very comfy and the kitchen offered basic supplies. Linens were high quality, everything was in good shape. All in all a lovely spot to explore the Harpswell peninsula and Brunswick area.

squeaky clean and nicely appointed … for me great location … good for birding, walking/hiking many preserves, lovely mid-coast Maine quiet and easy walk to “old school” New England ice cream stand and classic white village houses/churches … would also be good for kayakers … yet only short drive to Brunswick and its attractions.

Nice scenic area, not too close to a lot of activities. Had to drive many miles to see various parks, etc.

Jack and Mary are great hosts and provide a map of all the hiking trails along the main road. The Hideaway has everything you need. The deck is where you live with the sun shining on it most of the day. I hope to be back soon.

Definitely a cute cozy place. Just the right price and private enough to enjoy the area. Walked down to the beach area. Rocky beach area was pleasant for a quiet stroll. We had everything we needed in the kitchen, even a large enough pot for lobster. Host was quick to respond. We would recommend.

Henry’s Hideaway was clean and modern with all of the amenities needed for a relaxing stay. Jack and Mary responded quickly to an issue with the internet. An added bonus was walking the many trails in the Harpswell Heritage Land Trust. This section of Harpswell is quiet, quaint and convenient to so much on Maine’s mid-coast. Thank you Jack and Mary!

I loved my week-long stay in Harpswell. The location is great, it's handy to beaches and nearby towns, but also bucolic and quiet. The deck and hammock were wonderful and I set-up my laptop on the table outside for most of the week for my remote work. The cottage is perfectly set-up for one person and the space is very well laid out. I am looking forward to returning again in the future!

Great place for my wife and I to unwind, relax, and enjoy some much needed quality time. Jack and Mary's cottage hideaway was perfect! The place was spotless and had just about everything we needed. Jack was very helpful with suggestions on places to visit and where the find the best lobsters in the area! So many things to do, I only wish we had more time! Jack and Mary were great hosts! Thank you. I'm sure we'll be back.

The cottage at Harpswell is very special. I have stayed on two occasions and could not ask for more. It is clean, well stocked, private, and so convenient to the Sound. The deck provides for lovely stargazing. Looking forward to my next visit. Thank you Mary and Jack. Sue

The cottage was a perfect size for a single visitor. I felt very much at home in it and felt I was coming back home when I went away.

This little slice of heaven is exactly what we wanted for our trip to Maine. While it is a 40 minute drive to Portland it is worth it! I have stayed in a lot of rentals in my travels and this is by far one of the best. The pictures can't show you how this cottage feels or how great Harpswell is. Have your morning coffee on the patio and enjoy the sounds of the birds and great fresh Maine air. We will be back, that I am sure of.

Henry's cottage was a perfect place for us! Everything, from booking to checking in was seamless. Early morning coffee on the deck was blissful - bird songs and lobster boats started the day. Driving down the hill with the view of the bay always took my breath away. Quintessential Maine, complete with lobster boats, sailboats and sparkling water, can't be captured in words or photos! Jack and Mary are super and attentive hosts.

Although it sits in a place that is not directly connected to other bays, the drive was not too far to so many more places to see. It was exactly what we needed :)

Enjoyed our time in Harpswell at Henry's Hideaway. Cottage worked well and was light, airy and pleasant. Recent updates (new refrigerator and bathroom tiling) added comfort.

The Hideway is essentially a well-equipped studio, though its own little house, with plenty of windows and a deck. The Murphy bed is very comfortable. We left it down for the whole week, because there was plenty of room for it. From the deck you can see a slice of water. There's a pretty, wide grassy path to the water, but there is no beach, literally, which was a little disappointing. The location is great--close to hiking and walking trails, easy to get to Orr's and Bailey islands, even if you felt the need to leave Harpswell Neck. We were charmed by Brunwick as well.

Our first time in the area and we had a clean, quiet spot to explore from! It was a hotter, more humid week and the breezes weren’t enough to keep us cool inside so we used the lovely deck, shaded from the afternoon sun. Everything worked, wireless internet a little sketchy with multiple devices, comfortable Murphy bed. There is a nice grassy path from the hideaway to a rocky beach at mid to low tide. We would recommend this as a base to explore, take in the many hiking trails and abundant seafood in the area!

Peaceful, clean cabin with a great deck. Perfect location for exploring Harpswell.

My husband and I were looking for a quiet spot to relax and reconnect. From the moment we pulled into the driveway we were in love. The cottage was the perfect size for me and my husband. It was extremely quiet and peaceful. A hammock and table with Umbrella were on the deck along with a gas grill and Adirondack chairs. The place was very clean and had everything we could possibly need for our stay including bed linens, towels, and everything to cook or even clean. Jack and Mary were amazing and very quickly responded when we had a request for a lobster pot, Mary was there in minutes. There are some great places to eat or buy lobsters off of the boats in one of the places that say live lobster. Amazing prices as well. I was worried about the Murphy bed because of my bad back but I was pleasantly surprised. My back was still sore as it is on my own brand new bed at home, but, it was nothing that my normal routine of stretching and a warm shower didn't take care of. There is a rock and shell beach a short walk down the hill. I would recommend water shoes. The beach area is only available during low tide and you can walk to a sandy area as well. We sailed on the Arc II which is the owners boat, we had never been sailing so this was a wonderful surprise for my husband's birthday. It was amazing and my husband even drove the boat. Well worth it.. Thank you Jack and Mary for sharing your lovely cottage with us.

We loved our stay at Henry's Hide a Way. It is at the end of the road and very private and clean. We enjoyed listening and watching the many birds around the home. The owners are nearby and were very helpful. We would definitely stay here again.

Less expensive than a motel, very intimate and private. Excellent bed and a short walk to Striper fishing several times a day. The refreshing ocean breeze is not available elsewhere at this price point. Owners Mary and Jack kept tabs on any needs we might have had and clued us in on local activities.
