My overall rating of this house is 5 stars…here are my takeaways….nothing super crazy but thought I’d at least mention everything for people to know when they book:
- Beautiful home that is decorated very modern…just like photos show
- Amazing water views from the large windows at the back of the house.
- Kitchen is well appointed
- Lots of toiletries available
- Very clean!!
- Toilet paper is not cheap (this is important!)
- Comfortable beds (except bunks have cheap mattresses)
- The drive into the property is a nice, smooth drive and the property itself is nice and flat.
- Renting from a company like this means lot of conveniences such as boat rentals delivered right to the dock (but the house & boat rentals are expensive)
- No separate exhaust fans in bathrooms….just mentioning because I like to turn my exhaust fan off unless needed but the fan comes on when the lights are turned on. And the fans in the hall bath and Jack & Jill bath are rather loud.
- No countertop space in master bathroom or in the Jack & Jill bathroom
- The hand soap sucks….it’s so, so bad! They buy good TP and then make their own hand soap that is completely watered down. 🤷♀️
- The hot water takes FOREVER to get warm and it never really gets hot (except the king bedroom closest to the kitchen…it gets hot there)
- No outlet close to dining table that I could plug a large laptop plug into…the outlets in the floor recess in, so I couldn’t use it.
- Renting a house this expensive means one would expect everything to be top notch. The deck needs staining something major. The roof has leaks. The house needs painting. These aren't necessarily things that distract from the stay but it just shows they don't take really good care of their properties.
This property has an excellent location on the lake and also to restaurants and shops in nearby towns. If you don't mind spending a little extra money, this is a great property!

Family Friendly Fun on Lake Norman
A wonderful property with loads of activities for the whole family. We never left the lake…grandkids even did a polar plunge during our cold weather stay.
The only Inconvenience was the water pressure at the kitchen sink was extremely low but maybe that’s life at the lake.

Wish I could upload pictures I took from sunrise and sunset. We all had a great time and will definetly return in the future.

Great location
The location of this property is excellent. Right on the water and close proximity to shopping and restaurants. Plenty of space for our family. Really liked the sandy, private beach, boat launch and fire-pit. While the outdoor space was more than accommodating the property would benefit from some basic maintenance - specifically, the deck needs paint and some of the furniture, both inside and out, is worn. Finally, the grill needs to be replaced or cleaned thoroughly. These items are easily addressed and, overall, did not deter an enjoyable stay.

Everything was wonderful!!! We loved our stay. The weather was extremely hot (unusual for time of year), but we enjoyed the lake floating and our pontoon boat rental. Would recommend renting a boat to anyone staying!

Great place
This is the perfect home for a large family. Beautiful location, great amenities, beautiful property. It was great to have 2 beaches, one that is mostly shaded and great for reading or chilling in the shade, with the other being great for soaking in the sun. I highly recommend this property.

This was the perfect home for our vacation. Single story made it easy to keep an eye on kids but also keep everyone together. Has all the amenities you require for a great vacation.

Great getaway at Breakaway
Fantastic lake house for family gathering. One-level house with open floor plan was enjoyed by all. Furnishings were attractive and comfortable. Kitchen was very well equipped. Large dining table and outdoor picnic table. Great views of open lake. Two beach areas were just a few steps away and allowed for safe accessible areas for children. Boat dock was large enough for several to use for sitting and swimming. Our family has stayed at many beach and lake homes in NC and VA and we all felt this was the best. “Perfect” was the word consistently used. Thanks.

Perfect family vacation home!
The house on Lake Norman was perfect for our family. There were 12 of us in the house - 2 teenagers, 2 toddlers, and 8 adults. Everything about the house and property were perfect - house was clean, beds were comfy, the kitchen was stocked with everything we need, the two beaches were perfect for sun lounging, the paddle board and kayaks kept everyone outside on the water, the huge outdoor deck and furniture allowed for somewhere to gather and chat. We used the fire pit one night while we played games on the beach and enjoyed looking at the water. A family member who lives on the lake nearby drove his boat over and parked it at the dock which was very convenient. The high chair and pack n play was a nice perk. There were multiple stores nearby and restaurants, although we cooked all our meals at the house. The whole family agreed that everything was perfect and we are already planning our next trip back to stay at the house again!

The house is amazing. Exactly like the pictures show. Waking up to that view is so relaxing!
We could not have had a better experience with this house and rental company. They were helpful and quick with responses. They thought of everything with this house. It was fully loaded... coffee, creamer, shampoos, hand and dish soap, games, etc. We are local to Lake Norman and wanted a house where we could have several other couples in from out of town for my husband’s 40th. They loved the house and the location. The two beaches are an added bonus you won’t get anywhere else. The experience of watching the sun rise over the lake was so memorable and everyone commented on the great house and location. It was such a great place to gather and relax. I would pick the same house again if we ever decide to do another reunion. We had a great time!!!

Great location, wonderful view
We chose LN Breakaway for our annual guys "pigskin, grillin and chillin" getaway and weren't dissapointed! Wonderful views, quiet surroundings and an overall great experience. Large flat screen in living area to watch college football. Almost new gas grill fired up no problem. The home is very nice just as the pictures depict. Defintely would stay again!

Perfect lake house for a weekend getaway with great friends!
Our group of 8 got together at this lake house for a girl’s weekend and we came from NC, SC and Va. The house was great, very comfortable and has fantastic outdoor areas to relax and enjoy the view, which was perfection! It was January so we didn’t get to enjoy being on the water but did use the fire pit and hot tub which were both lots of fun.
The lake house was well equipped for the most part, the only issue we had was not having enough seating for everyone and inadequate lighting in the kitchen/great room.
There wasn’t enough soft seating in the den for everyone and to have a conversation because the furniture mostly faced the tv, which we only watched one of the rainy afternoons. The overhead lighting is an easy fix but is either way too bright over the kitchen island and great room or so dark when off that you couldn’t see and there are no lamps that provide any alternate lighting. Lamps, more seating and dimmers on the overhead lighting would be a huge improvement as well as end tables at the fire pit for drinks, etc.
We didn’t have all of the items on the “owner will provide” list but we were well equipped and were there for the company anyway and bought what we needed close by. The grocery store was very convenient to have so near the house. When we arrived, the agent/owner left us a bag of ice and a welcome bottle of wine which was very considerate and much appreciated!
Everything in the house was brand new and very clean and very well maintained. Bathrooms are very spacious and updated with plenty of storage. We staggered our showers and had to wait for hot water and be quick but in the summer, the outdoor shower would help with some of those issues.
The mattresses are super comfortable, a very nice surprise for a rental but expected for the price and were all tempur-pedic with high count cotton sheets and bedding, best sleep ever!
Overall we highly recommend this lake house as a great rental property! We had a great girl’s weekend getaway while enjoying this beautiful home!

Beautiful House in a Beautiful Setting
This house was perfect for our annual sibling reunion of eight adults. Fishing was readily accessible as were strolls through the neighborhood. The open floor plan was very conducive to group activities and visiting. Bedrooms were comfortable and private. The recently remodeled house was warm and cozy even though it was frigid outside. The Property Management staff pleasantly accommodated a couple of special requests and even had decorated for the holidays. The premises and house were pristine. We'd happily return in a warmer season to enjoy the lovely deck, lake, beaches and firepit.

Outstanding house and lot. Hot tub, deck, fire pit made this place special.
We rented a boat which made the visit even more special. Shari, Pam, and Danny were great to work with. Retail is close yet excellent lake views. Could not recommend more highly.

Annual Family Vacation
PERFECT! This vacation home was perfect for our family of 12! The home was spotless, beautiful and everything we expected. With 8 adults and 4 granddaughters (ages 6-2) there was plenty of room for everyone. We especially liked the fact that the kitchen and living room is big and spacious and we were together all the time. We used the outdoor living space, and extra large picnic table daily. My granddaughters loved the swing (our only concern there were the rocks that are so close to the swing that a child could hit their head very easily). The beach is great for all ages, it was very hot so our whole family spent a lot of time floating in the lake, it is shallow so the little ones could play. The boat was definitely a big plus, we did alot of tubing, fishing, and just riding around the lake looking for new coves to float in. Shari and Danny are GREAT! Thank you for a wonderful week and so many memories!! Lake Norman is definitely one of our favorite new places to visit!!!

Up to date beautiful property and home.
This is the second year in a row we have stayed at the property and we will be returning next year. The two beaches make you feel like you are in a tropical setting. The shaded beach is great for kids and the more open beach ideal for sun worshippers. This house is situated on the best cove in Lake Norman with plenty of calm water. The marina close by is a huge plus if you have a boat or are renting one. Cant wait for next year.
