We had a big family extended weekend vacation for the first time ever, and the lodge worked perfectly for the space and bedrooms provided. We had some issues with the AC but a repairman came out that day and fixed the problem. We had great and prompt communication all the time regarding any issues or questions we had about anything. Having the deer so nearby to watch nature right in front of us was amazing. There is incredible landscape on the other side of the deer pasture that one would never know existed. It's just stunning. The kids caught a couple catch and release fish which was fun for them. The weather cooperated for the most part and everyone had a really good time!!! A very fun family vacation!!!

This property was amazing. The lodge is spacious with a wonderful back deck where we spent lots of time watching deer, bison, Canadian geese and sandhill cranes. We even saw a bald eagle. Family members entertained themselves swimming in the pool, playing volleyball and fishing in an adjacent pond. They also took advantage of some of the endless entertainment opportunities nearby, including hiking, a river float and a river cruise. The owner and manager were extremely accommodating to special requests. All 33 family members would highly recommend this property.

The lodge was perfect for our family celebration. We had enough bedrooms with the addition of the cabin to accommodate all of the couples. There was space for everyone to spread out and relax. The deer were so fun to watch and entertained us all day. Having the pond on site was great fishing and super for the novice in our group. The kitchen was well equipped and we were able to cook and eat all together. If you are want peace and quiet, this is the place. We were a little farther away from the Dells but we're from larger cities so driving to activities wasn't a problem. Plenty of space for all our cars and trailers of toys! Thanks for letting us stay. We have special memories forever.

Our group whose ages ranged from 2-78 enjoyed family time at the lodge. We enjoyed the pool, volleyball court, paddle boat, deck and especially watching the deer. We were disappointed in the cleanliness and state of repair .

This was our second time staying in this vacation home with our family. We highly recommend this place. Fishing, swimming, and lots of outdoor space for activities. Close enough to Wis Dells if you choose. Lots of games, including a pool table in the lower level that kept the kids entertained. We could watch wildlife right off the deck which included geese, cranes, bison, and deer. Very relaxing property to hang out.

There was soooo much to do on this property. We enjoyed the paddle boat, canoe and row boat on the pond. We caught bluegills, bass, catfish and perch. The animal life around you is amazing! We were surrounded by huge bucks, does and fawns. There are 5 bison on the property and a pair of Sandhill Cranes named Hank and Ernie. The pool is large and clean. We swam multiple times. There is a brand new jacuzzi. We cooked over the fire pit. All of this and close to the Dells as well.
The owners were super responsive to any questions or needs.
This was the best VRBO I have booked! We had so much fun!

We had a group of 24 people and Arlene was more than accommodating and communicative. There are lots of things to do like volleyball, hot tub, fishing, grilling, fire pit, boating, tour of the grounds, and even feeding deer. Very spacious for our big group. This is a place to unplug as you will get very low cell service and the wifi only works in the living room. A couple things to note are that the drinking water source is from a well so if you are not comfortable with that, bring your own water bottles. Also the pool is not heated. Also it wasn’t a concern for us but just take note that there is A LOT of taxidermy in the house, a little more than the pictures. Other than that, it was a great time, there was a pool table and poker table which we played at night. We enjoyed our stay at Deer Haven!

Deer Haven was an absolute perfect place to host our joint bachelor/bachelorette cabin weekend! The property exceeded our expectations, stocked with all of the kitchen amenities you could need, as well as towels, firewood, playing cards, coffee, the things you would expect to maybe pack for yourself. There was a set of deck lights we couldn't find the switch for and I texted Arlene and she had someone come over to turn them on for us. Excellent communication on the owners' part and we will definitely be planning our next stay! The drive into the Dells is about 30 mins but you're far out enough to enjoy some privacy and the starry/stormy nights were incredible!!

We had multiple families, ages 10-78 stay for a long weekend. Bob and Arlene were great to work with. They answered all our questions pre-stay and went above and beyond to help out during our stay, including taking a tire to get repaired when one of our cars had a flat. The lodge has so much room for large groups for both sleeping and relaxing. The kids enjoyed paddle boating and canoeing, as well as the hot tub and pool. There is plenty to do within a half hour drive if you need something other than that peace of the property.

We had our family reunion here. Owners couldn’t have been easier to work with and property was very clean. We spent each evening watching the deer come by to feed. Lots of space and golf nearby. Kids had a blast in the pool and volleyball court.

We did our first extended family trip at Deer Haven and it was a blast. Our group had 10 adults and 8 kids (ranging from 1.5-12). I was a little nervous that with that many kids in one home, we would all go a little stir crazy but it never reached that point. The home itself is perfectly set up for large groups, with 2 bedrooms on each floor. It's also solidly built so it minimizes noise between the floors which is ideal. There were SO many activities for all ages and everything was well stocked (kitchen cooking needs, pool towels, life jackets, outdoor seating, firewood). Bob and Arlene were great! Super responsive and dropping by periodically to feed the deer and check in with us. There were some staff that were tending to the property and they were also very friendly and generous - even taking some of our group out to feed the deer.
This is quite a unique property with so much land and space. It was a great place for our group. I particularly loved the multiple balconies that overlooked the pond and deer pen. Beautiful scenery and incredibly restful to sit outside and listen to all the sounds of nature.
We ended up spending a lot of time at the pond, using the paddle boat and canoe and fishing. The pool and hot tub were also great but the pond was the main attraction for the kids! We also ended up going to the Dells a few times - it's about a half hour drive. It was great to have that option for more activities with kids and to get out of the house. If you're looking for a rustic retreat that's not too far from touristy attractions, this is it!

Beautiful home, spacious. With 9 adults and and 15 children we never felt cramped. Kids and adults enjoyed game room when weather wasn’t quite cooperative. We all enjoyed the hot tub. Kids had fun fishing in the pond. A wonderful way to spend a weekend together and be under a single roof. Memories made will stay with us forever. Thank you, you have no idea what this special time to be together meant to me.

We came to this beautiful place to stay with 7 adults and 10 children 10 and under. It was a great time and the rooms were laid out perfect for our whole family. The game area in the lower level was perfect for our families. The deer were amazing and the pond had lots of fish in it. Everyone said we need to come back to stay again.

My family and I searched for weeks to find a stay that could accommodate so many of us and we were fortunate to find this stay. It is located about 30 minutes away from the Dells and on a quiet backroad. It for sure had a little bit of everything to keep the family happy and for fun/entertainment. We had a wonderful stay and would strongly recommend it for large events as it provides a great bang for your buck!

We were very pleased with this beautiful home (and the smaller cabin). All 24 members of our family enjoyed our stay and found plenty to do on the property.
It was just as advertised:
- Spacious and open (with a lot of taxidermy)
- Large bedrooms with comfortable beds
- Large appliances in good condition, including 2 washers & dryers.
- Kitchen was well-supplied with cookware and serving pieces for large groups.
- Indoor and outdoor “toys” for all ages.
- Manager and owner were accessible and responsive to our inquiries, but were never intrusive.
- The pool was accessible and clean. The pond was available for paddle boating, canoeing, etc.
- The deer were very tame and some of them even allowed us to pet them! We were free to enter their 300 acre area.
- The 3 decks were great and the big front porch was also a favorite gathering place.
- We would definitely rent this home again. It was a very quiet setting and you’d never know you were only 25-30 miles from The Wisconsin Dells, Baraboo, Devils Lake State Park, etc.

Property was perfect for a larger family reunion. MUCH to do on site between fishing, walking around the property, swimming, playing games in the basement, nice evenings around the fire pit, and on. Castle Rock lake and The Dells are both a short distance away for bigger water or hard core shopping. For Castle Rock, Adams County Park is a nice find--great boat launch and a nice beach for those who didn't want to go on the boat. Bottom Line: This property hit a home run for our event.

This was a great Bachelor party for my brother. We were able to hang out and have fun. The property and all of it's amenities kept us busy. The owners were willing to go out of their way to make this a great weekend. When there was some issues, they were very understanding and reasonable. They worked with us to resolve the problem and everyone walked away happy, with great memories. Thanks Arlene and Bob, along with all of your helpers!

We were looking for a place to get the whole family together, first time since Covid! It was an awesome stay, we had four generations under one roof, and much fun was had.
Tons of room, we found what ever we needed to cook meals. While there are other activities to do, we spent all our timeon the property, whether in the above ground pool, or on the deck, there was even a rowboat trip on the pond. Having fairly tame deer just out back was an added bonus.
Be aware that the amount of taxidermy on display is actually under represented by the pictures. We enjoyed it in an offbeat, kitchsy kinda way, but if anyone on your party might be offended, you may want to keep looking.

Large cabin which accommodated our family perfectly. The kids really enjoyed walking in the woods/climbing the rocks/and viewing the deer in silence. The game room was great, but the pool table and shuffle board need repairs and some of the electronic games didn't work. We brought family bingo so we made do with what we had. The carpet to the stairs could use a good cleaning, but overall we were happy with our stay.

I give my children and grandchildren a yearly vacation for Christmas and this year we chose Wisconsin, Deer Haven was the perfect choice as there were 17 of us with ages ranging from 3-75. No one ever got bored or fought for space! Thanks again!

What a wonderful long weekend! Our family of 19 - (ages 1-65) enjoyed a relaxing, fun weekend. The owners and caretakers went beyond our expectations to ensure that our stay was memorable. The lodge is comfortable, spacious, and includes everything we could need! The grounds were well taken care of and provided for volleyball, and a family game of kickball. The kids enjoyed hide a seek at dark. The highlight of the weekend was definitely the deer and the pond. We were in awe of the deer that came to the pond for water each morning and evening - being able to pet a couple and feed them was a treat for young and old. We spent many, many hours in the clear water pond, rowing, paddle boating, swimming and playing. We appreciated the gator rides to see the elk and deer in the woods, too! What a perfect place to enjoy peaceful family time! Thank you!

We had an amazing time renting Deer Haven! The property was gorgeous inside and out. We had a group of over 20 adults and children and there was plenty of room for all of us. The bedroom set up and general layout of the house was great - the bedrooms are so spacious, which was especially nice for those of us with kids. There was so much to do outside, too! Our group especially loved the deer, the pool, and the sand volleyball court. Shelly and Steven, the property managers, were so helpful and kind, and really went above and beyond to make our stay great. We had so much fun that we are already talking about coming back next year! We highly recommend Deer Haven and thank Shelly, Steven, Arlene, and Bob for an amazing stay!

The house is beautiful and spacious. The bugs were terrible- inside and out. The deer come out in the early evening and eat out of your hand. Repairs need to be done. Boards loose on deck and stairs. Over kill on the animals through out the house. Oven kept going out. Caretakers Steve and Shelly were great.

We had 26 people from 6 states meet, ranging in age from 2-70 . We rented the lodge and farm house and had plenty of space for everyone. All had a great time with plenty to do-pond, pool, game room and running around. The managers, Shelly and Steve, were amazing. They were very responsive and helpful and easy to reach. They took the kids out to feed the deer and see the big Elk. The kitchen was great for preparing large group meals. We were so thankful that they sprayed for mosquitos so we could enjoy the beautiful property. There are a lot of flies as one would expect at a country property with animals. The flies were annoying but at least they dont bite! Highly recommend this property for large groups of all ages.
