Skye Lodge es un lujoso apartamento de 725 pies cuadrados ubicado en el último piso de una casa de vacaciones privada ubicada en un acantilado de 150 pies cuadrados. por encima del suelo del cañón. en el corazón de Spearfish Canyon, donde se unen Spearfish Canyon y Roughlock Canyon. The place is beautiful. The views are outstanding. The owner was great to deal with. The apartment was very comfortable. It is a nice open floorplan. Great for a couple's getaway.

Greg did not exaggerate his listing. His property is nestled between the soaring canyon walls of Spearfish Canyon. Breathtaking views are not only beheld at the lodge, but all along route 14 from Spearfish to Lead.
We encountered mountain goats daily (sometimes twice!) when we were traversing the route. Saw many deer around the property and of course, plenty of other wildlife.
We spent our early morning drinking coffee and watching the deer as well as several different birds of prey soar along the canyon walls. Evenings were spent relaxing on the deck if we weren’t in Deadwood or Sturgis.
There is plenty to do around the lodge. If you are an outdoor enthusiast, plenty of trails await you. We strongly suggest a trek to Devil’s bathtub and both Roughlock and Spearfish falls. If hiking isn’t your thing, various business offer Polaris and other rentals.
Deadwood is a short 30 minute drive from the lodge. Mt Rushmore was about 1 hr and 30 minutes, as was Custer state park and Crazy Horse.
Needles Highway is a must if you wish to see as much indigenous wildlife as possible. Plenty of bison, goats, deer, coyotes, etc.
Greg is a personable and knowledgeable host. Very friendly and full of advice. He’s lived in the area for a long time and certainly can guide you to whatever adventure you seek.

Greg was a great host! The views from the cabin really were incredible, and the whole Spearfish Canyon area is so beautiful. We enjoyed seeing deer in the mornings right outside the lodge, as well as sitting on the deck in the evenings and watching the hummingbirds. There's plenty to do with hiking, fishing, renting ATVs, horseback riding, and so much more. There are also great places nearby to eat. Greg was very helpful with suggestions and advice on things to do in the area. Thanks for a great time!

Beautiful location right in the heart of Spearfish Canyon! We enjoyed our days of just relaxing watching the deer and hummingbirds. Loved the ice cave air conditioning on hot afternoons.

We loved it! We traveled as a family of 4 with our kiddos (3 and 7) and everything was exactly as described. The home is beautiful, the views are breathtaking, the host is very helpful and accommodating. We had some personal difficulties come up regarding our travel plans and the host was so helpful and everything went so well. Thank you for a lovely stay! We will be back!

This place is in the heart of Spearfish canyon and view of the canyon is awesome. The cottage was perfect for us. Hikes, lake, waterfalls, historic sites (national fish hatchery, devils tower and deadwood) and wildlife are all close by including the baby mountain goats. Greg was a great host. He provided maps, information (lots of brochures and great collection of books) and advice on seeing the best of the area. Close to many good restaurants in Spearfish. Highly recommended!

AMAZING!!! The views are stunning, the place is very clean, cozy, and much bigger than it looks online. Greg was a great host and and super informative when telling us about the local area. After riding SXS for two days it was so nice to know we had such a great place to go relax and unwind.

The property honestly was even more beautiful than the photos. The house was decorated with such care and attention to the culture and surrounding area it really impressed us. Kitchen is fully stocked , you wont need a thing ! So close to everything we wanted to see and a super amazing , helpful host to top it off. We loved our stay and hope to come back soon!

When I told fellow Wisconsinites we were headed to South Dakota for a January vacation, I was met with dumbfounded stares and questions of my sanity. They had no idea we were headed to something as beautiful as South Dakota in winter. The drive through Spearfish Canyon is jaw-dropping, the hiking trails are extraordinarily beautiful, but the views from this property are a thing to behold. Overcast days are glorious, sunny days are magnificent as the sun sets its spotlight on different scenes, but nothing can match the magic of being in a place where snow globes come to life.

Photos do not do justice to the beauty of Skyelodge! The cabin is beautiful, clean, well maintained, and larger than what appear in the photos! Plenty of space and vaulted ceilings.
Location was very convenient as we rented snowmobiles at Spearfish Canyon Lodge, fly fished for trout in the streams, and snow skied at Terry Peak. Greg was a fantastic and very accommodating host! Would highly recommend this place!

A fantastic property in the heart of beautiful Spearfish Canyon. Close to waterfalls, hiking trails and fabulous trout streams. Also, short driving distances to historic western towns. Greg was the consummate host providing local information as well as a very well appointed and decorated property literally hanging on the hoo-doos of Spearfish Canyon.

Skye Lodge is a wonderful place to get away from the craziness of the world. Spearfish Canyon is so beautiful and the lodge is close to three waterfalls that are distinctly different from each other. The lodge is just like the pictures only better. I was sad to leave it.

Greg's place is fantastic! The apartment and views are breathtaking! Greg is a wonderful host, gave us tons of suggestions on sights to see and visit. We stayed three nights and didn't want to leave. Every evening we sat on the porch and enjoyed the birds, views, cool breezes and quiet sounds of nature. We can't wait to visit the black hills, and Greg's place again!!

A little piece of heaven!!
Greg was an awesome host, place was clean and had all the amenities we needed. Grill was a bonus as it made evening meals super easy. The view from the large windows or deck were amazing. Each night as the canyon cooled we would enjoy the patio and the sites and smells of the canyon. Location was perfect, just minutes from Spearfish Canyon Lodge. The drive up to the location was a bit of an experience the first time, but after a couple trips up and down you got used to it.

Stunning beauty
Skylodge sets on an idyllic spot, capturing stunning views of Spearfish Canyon. The lodge's colorful southwestern decor blends tastefully with unique furniture pieces. We felt instantly warm and comfortable. The owner was welcoming, cordial and helpful. The location was far enough away to provide a quiet, peaceful getaway but close enough to Lead for groceries, hiking, and a nice restaurant.

The view was amazing! Perfect place to relax. Spearfish Canyon is our favorite place in the Black Hills. The house was perfect for our stay! The house was neat and clean. Greg was a great host!

Easy access to some famous rides (Spearfish Canyon for example) as well as awesome and endless gravel roads and trails! On top of that, you start and finish your day with a gravel driveway that includes a few slopes as well as a switchback. A lot of fun!
For others, the photographs are spot on - this location was amazing! It was so quiet, especially at night! And each evening there was a cool breeze coming down the side of the canyon - a great spot to relax. Watch out for the hummingbirds! They are quite curious and unafraid! Accommodations were lovely and comfortable, and Greg is a great host! I'll definitely be back.

We liked that the property was somewhat remote and private. Beautiful view from the deck and windows. There was plenty of room to move around and a very large bathroom and walk in shower. Just a great place to stay.

Perfect place and great host!
Greg met us upon arrival and was extremely courteous and knowledgeable about the area. He gave us great ideas for hikes in the area. The place was clean and nicely decorated. The location is beautiful! Overall, so glad we chose this place and would stay there again!
