This is a great spot! We love Reid State park and Georgetown--so this house is perfectly situated. Lovely house, lovely spot--we hope to return next year!

Such a peaceful and homey spot. We did not end up using the small cabin because we were worried about the steep stairs for our small children but it was perfect in every other way. Also loved the location, a bit tucked away but close to everything we needed.

This is a beautiful property and home, our family got together for a summer vacation, plenty of room for everyone, very short drive to Reid State park, which we loved, just a beautiful park, close to Five Island Lobster Co, which is a great spot to sit out and eat fresh seafood in a lovely area, close to Popham beach as well. The house is well equipped with everything we needed to cook right there. We look forward to visiting again. Thank you

My family and I have stayed at Joe's place twice now and each time has been so special. It's secluded -- in the best way. You can see the stars and leave the windows open at night with nothing to hear but the trees in the breeze and the night bugs. The beds are so comfy, the kitchen is well stocked and it's a short distance to both Bath and Reid State Park. If this place is available, scoop it up before someone else does!!

We rented this property with 10 adults in our party. The bunk beds which were listed with no restrictions on the listing, indicated that only children should occupy them due to weight restrictions, so we were down 2 beds. Then the septic system failed and sewage came back up into the toilets and tub. This made the guest house unusable and we were down two more beds. Fortunately we brought an air mattress to use otherwisewe would have been short a few beds for our guests. The owner responded promptly to the second (more serious) report of issues and had a truck come out in a Sunday of a holiday weekend to address the septic issue. We had to clean the sewage out of the tub and all toilets were unusable for a period of time. Otherwise the house was nice and property was beautiful. It was nice to be able to build a fire in the pit outside with the wood supplied. The house has just about everything you could need for a stay there.

The property was exactly as advertised. Wonderful screened in porch, perfect fireplace (with wood available), fire pit, comfy bedrooms and well-stocked kitchen. Near wide, sandy beaches.

I always approach a rental with hesitations wondering if the photos are truly accurate of current conditions, if they give an impression of more space than there is etc. If anything, the photos cannot begin to adequately reflect the perfection of Windy Hill. The main house is cozy and inviting with more than adequate space. The cabin is a fairy tale experience in itself. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed and surprised us with how many extras it had. The bathrooms were very spacious as were the oversized closets. The enclosed screened porch was the most used "room" for our family and was a total delight. We were totally pleased with every aspect of this property and the grounds. In addition, communication with the owner was always swift and positive. This was a totally satisfying experience and one we hope to repeat in the future.

We started a tradition of friends vacationing together and this place was the perfect spot to kick it off the ground. The location was private but close enough to all the amenities you'd need. In short. It was perfect.

We were so happy with our cabin in the woods plenty of room for our family of ten . We would love to come again.

We had a great stay at Windy Hill with 3 families in our group. All the essentials were stocked, plenty of room. We loved the screened in porches and that’s where we spent most of our time hanging out when we weren’t at the beach. Would definitely stay here again. Joseph was easy to communicate with and helpful.

I really enjoyed the property and area. It was very nice and quiet. I wish check in could have been an hour or two earlier. I picked the place based on proximity to a few beaches, since it was not on a lake. The beach just south from the house was reliable, but all of the others were completely full if you don’t get there before 9am. I definitely recommend the house for a group of people that want to relax and be away from it all.

This was a perfect spot for us. Lot's of great porch time. Close enough to Portland for a day trip. Would definitely recommend.

We had a great stay at Windy Hill. The property is secluded but a short drive to Bath and Reid State Park. The house was clean and comfortable for our multiple families and children. We loved the screened-in porch which provided some protection from the mosquitos and was a great place for our big meals. We appreciated that Joe was very responsive to any issues that came up. Overall, it was a great place for our reunion and we would stay again!

This was our second stay at Windy Hill. We love the comfortable and spacious house. It is so nice to relax on the large screened-in porch after spending a day at the beach. The house is very private, completely surrounded by woods. You feel like you're in you own little world out there. The kitchen is well-equiped, and we cooked most of our breakfasts and dinners at the house. It's very close to Reid State Park, but we prefer Pompham State Park beach, which is only 30 minutes away. With the included beach pass (covers both parks), we didn't have to spend extra money for beach access or parking. We enjoyed take-out cooked-to-order fresh lobsters from the Georgetown Country Store, only a mile down the road. 15 minutes further brings you to Five Islands, probably the most picturesque lobster shack and ice cream stand in Maine. The town of Bath is only 10 - 15 minutes away with nice restaurants and shopping. We love this house and hope to be back!

We had a great stay at Windy Hill! The home is comfortable and had enough room to manage 4 kids and a bunch of adults. We also used the cabin for lodging - quiet and cozy. The wifi worked well. The location was about 10 minutes from beautiful Reid State Park and 45 minutes from the sandy beaches at Popham. We also enjoyed Bath - the Maritime Museum is great. Make sure to check out some of the restaurants in Bath too - we had incredible pizza and bbq. Pretty easy drive to Freeport and Brunswick as well. Thanks for the chance to stay at the home!

Our family loved this beautiful home and cabin. The setting was quiet and reserved---exactly what we wanted. We loved that we were minutes from Five Island Lobster Co. My boys loved the hiking trails and we enjoyed sitting outside on the screened in porch in the evenings.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Windy Hill. The layout of the main house was perfect and our 2 twenty-somethings enjoyed staying in the detached guest house. There was enough room for all 7 of us to have dinner around the kitchen table and the couches in the living room were super comfortable! The only recommendation I have is to bring some spices if you plan on doing any serious cooking! It's so peaceful here and we enjoyed using the firepit one evening.

We stayed at Windy Hill for a long weekend to celebrate my mother's 70th birthday, and it was wonderful. The house was everything you see in the photos, PLUS! And the cabin was also very cozy. The grounds and facilities were stellar. It's private and feels secluded but Reid State Park, Popham Beach, Georgetown and Bath are all easily accessible. The kitchen was fantastic and well-equipped. Wifi worked well. The wildlife stirred all around. It's a beautiful place that's been tastefully updated and very well-maintained. Joe was very responsive with check-in details, which were smooth and easy, and he left detailed instructions on everything we needed to know. We enjoyed lounging on the full wrap-around screened porch (the cabin and master bedroom have screened porches too!) with plenty of space, accommodation and world-class local recreation for all ages - kids up to grandparents! We loved it! Thank you Joe.

This house (compound?) was the ideal setting for a Maine vacation for our extended family. We had a family of four, family of three, and two grandparents for a total of 9 guests, three of them children. We fit into the main house plus separate cabin perfectly! (There were even a pair of unoccupied bunk beds.) I feel the house looks better in person than the pictures on the site. In particular, the wrap-around screen porch is larger and more comfortable than the pictures look. We all gathered as a group most evenings in the corner of the screen porch, gathering 6 or 7 chairs for the adults around a table for appetizers. We were able to sit all nine of us comfortably around the kitchen table for dinners. The kitchen is well appointed, and large enough for two cooks to share the space. The spacious master bedroom also has a private screen porch. The only negative is that the stairs up to the sleeping loft of the second cabin are very steep, closer to a ladder. They are fine for older children or an adult couple who are nimble. Just don't expect older grandparents to climb up there. The grounds are very private, surrounded by pine forest. There was plenty of space for our children to run around, play, and explore without bothering the neighbors. The property is so large, we could not even see the neighbors from the main house. There is a country store down about one mile down the main road with all the basics, and a good selection of beer and wine. The store also carries lobster and will cook it for you to take out. Reid State Park is close by, but we chose to spend more time at Popham Beach State park, which was only 30 minutes away. The owners include a pass that covers all state parks, which saved us well over $50 per day in fees. The town of Bath is just 15 minutes away with shops, supermarkets, and several nice restaurants. Five Islands Lobster is only about 10 minutes away on the waterfront, and is a great place for seafood or to grab an ice cream after dinner. If you're looking for a private getaway property for a larger group or extended family, this compound is perfect! We hope to be back!

Had a great time at Windy Hill. Joseph is great to work with and made our staying here a smooth transition. Great yard and fire pit! Just a 5 minute walk to a beautiful beach!

We greatly enjoyed our stay at Windy Hill in Georgetown. The property was perfect for our multi family trip to Maine to celebrate my nephew's wedding. The houses had everything we needed and our only regret is that we stayed for only a weekend. Perhaps we'll be back again to more fully explore this part of Maine

The home and cabin were just as promised. The setting was lovely and just off the grid enough to allow us to explore both downtown Boothbay Harbor and Popham Beach! The house was well equipped and well kept. Thank you for accommodating our large group comfortably!

It was a nice decorated home with plenty of beds and baths. We really enjoyed the screened porch which was free from mosquitos and flies😏. I would definitely recommend this house. Also the owner Joe was very pleasant to talk and arraign our stay. Thanks Joe;))

We had a great time as a family, reconnecting and visiting the most special spots in Maine. The house was perfectly located close to Reid State Park and Popham Beach, we couldn't have asked for more!

Windy Hill is all that is described! We were referred to Windy Hill by local residents and truly enjoyed this lovely "Home Away From Home!" The rental process was very easy and Joe (homeowner) was very accommodating with all our requests. Windy Hill provided all the amenities we could ask for a family of nine and even our family dog named "Stitch"! We definitely encourage including the additional cabin for large families. The house was fully equipped and met all our needs, from the ready made beds, house linens, large kitchen, spacious sleeping quarters and the Reid State Park Pass. We absolutely loved the peaceful setting and privacy of the location! Thank you Joe for sharing your home and contributing to the joyous time we experienced while celebrating a family wedding. We hope we have the opportunity to do it again in the near future!

We stayed at Windy Hill for 2 weeks. This is an excellent rental for a relaxing vacation in the Maine. We loved the screened in porches and the quiet of the Maine woods. Everything in the house worked well. We will consider this rental again for our next vacation in Maine. There were a lot of horseflies at Reid State park. This may not be a problem all year. Reid is a beautiful park to visit. If the horseflies are bothering you or someone in your family, check out Popham Beach State Park. It is a 40 minute drive and there were almost no horseflies. The parking lot a Popham fills up between 11:00 and 2:00 on some days, so keep that in mind if you decide to make the trip. The only complaint about the rental was the lack of a gas grill. A gas grill would be a nice addition. There was a charcoal grill, however. This worked out ok.
